Mrs Mcawber, can I ask where you shop? I also go to germany mainly to Ald*sud or there's a local supermarket chain which is also good. I'm spending about 400-500€ I would say, although there's 5 of us.

Do you do the Frischeradar thing (it's called tasteradar in the UK but they also operate in Germany)

Oh my goodness, that must be terribly worrying to have your daughter in hospital so often - I hope she's a lot better now and stays in good health - will it help that summer's on the way?

So after what seems like ages of faffing, lurking on this thread, stopping and starting, I have reset my online weight record and got serious. SO far I've had three very good days and today's looking good so far.

    I have had:
    B: porrige (28g oats, 10g sultanas, 10g seeds, 100ml milk HEA,B and 4 syns)
L: stir fry with lots of veg, mango
D: fish, potato wedges, veg. yoghurt and honey (1 syn)

snacks are choc chip cookie so far (3.5 syns).
My problem is in the evenings between finishing dinner (I eat quite early at 6) and going to bed. Yesterday I had an options chocolate drink but it didn't quite hit the spot. Any ideas?

I have taken my 'target trousers' out of storage and hung them up for encouragement!!

I assume you're doing EE? first thing I'd say is you don't have any superfree with your breakfast. In the evening you could have a ceral bar as a snack. the kellogs fibre plus ones are really chocolatey and are eithe 5.5 or 6 syns. I tend to have fruit or yogurt in the evening if anything as we have tea quite late so I don't need much.

Lisa, I'm glad you mentioned breakfast as I wasn't sure if it had to be every meal with one third superfree, or just main meals. I almost always have an apple and banana mid morning which I suppose might compensate. I think the breakfast superfree would have to be fruit though, as eating veg for brekkie seems a bit unpalatable.

The first few days I followed the plans out of the magazine to make it easy for myself!

I don't eat fruit, so when I do an EE day it is only my lunch and dinner that have veg in them. I've still lost weight so even though I could probably lose more it hasn't held me back. The only thing to be aware of is if you're "filling" yourself with free foods instead of superfree. I just have weetabix and milk for brekkie and I generally try to avoid snacking on free food.

    Very good point!

I've just had a nosey at the SW website at their 7 day EE menu plan and there is a real lack of superfree!!

    E.g

Poached eggs and baked beans on toast (2 slices wholemeal bread from a 400g loaf).

Jacket potato and tuna with lots of crispy salad and 2 mini Babybel cheeses.

Chicken Kiev (2½ Syns) with Free chips, peas, carrots and broccoli.

Thanks for the question skintslimmer. Knicker size would be much easier to answer!:rotfl:

I'm conscious that our bills are creeping up but I haven't done a spending diary in a while. I think I'll wait 'til after Easter (too much eating out/staying away at the moment) then track a 'normal' week and compare it with January (I think) when I last did one. I'm a fairly frugal shopper too but I do sort of prioritise SW over money when I see melons or whatver that I 'need'. It might be helpful if we were to discuss good value SW meals. This week, I've really enjoyed the two bubble&squeak lunches I had from Sunday's LO veg. I think planning LOs mght be one way of saving for me.

That pendant is really lovely MrsM. What a super treat and you really deserve it:T

    EE again for me:
B:NAS Ribena, kippers, HE toast and HE milk with teas
L:ham, marmite and cucumber sandwich, grapefruit
D:turkey slices, tray of roast veg, sweet potato wedges,
Snacks: may have a bowl of berries as really I enjoyed them yesterday

I usually have something green with my dinner as well. Just out of interest would it be better to have French beans (S and superfree) or Broad Beans which are just free but SS?

I tend to average my superfree through the day rather than have a third with every meal (probably tweaking but it works for me). Having fruit as a mid-morning snack is good to balance your breakfast but I often have mushrooms and tomatoes with mine.

for breakfast I have fruit (fresh or frozen) in with some cereal and yoghurt; or occasionally mushrooms and tomatoes to accompany baked beans and bacon. If I can't fit in the superfree with my meal (for instance yesterday when I ate pub food) I grab fruit asap afterwards! After a while it feels wrong not to.

G&B glad your DD is a bit better.

Who asked for Dynorod soup? You can either "search" this thread via a little box at the top or go to the recipe thread which I THINK is linked in Consultant's very first post on page 1. If not I'll look for the link. On the real SW site it is called Speed Soup I think.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

    HIya all

Guns, so glad DD is on the mend how stressful

Lil' me- I had lots of beeps from london drivers today :o - itm was either the sunshine or the heels that did it. that said my feet wreck so im going to get a pair of flats when my bursary comes through, if not before.

Other news on my front is that some muppet has decided to hack into my account and buy themselves some plane tickets using my card details. So I cant access my current account till they sort all that out and it will be a week at least :wall:

In any case maybe this is a good thing. In terms of how much we are spending on food it is 200.00 per month generally that includes cleaning and toiletries, and some bits pet food we dont buy from pets at home on a big order. I managed it lat month with 10er left although I did bulk buy alot of toiletries as they were on super-cheap as Asda and I bought as much as could be carried. I mainly shops at £shops, asda sainsb and market stalls. It doesn't however include- my diet coke habit, nor OHs "i'm pretending I didn't" go for greggs or the like when he is meant to be doing SW ;) Am however very fortunate to live here where there's a massive market and many independent shops and I do spend a fair amount of time hunting for good prices and never jsut settle for the most convenient.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
