I was wondering if anyone could tell me please can having too many superfrees be a bad thing? As sometimes I seem to have more than 1/3 superfree,

    Morning all,

cande, i'd be interested to hear about eating lots of superfree too as I seem to be the same as you although I presume it would be the same as doing Success Express? Consultant, can you help us, pretty please ? :D

I can't add much to the replies you've already had but I do know that having loads of superfree foods will not make your weight loss slow down, although it's wise to check that what you think are superfree really are. It does surprise me that you say you don't cut down on the free foods though as you can only get so much on a plate, lol.

Also make sure that you're weighing everything that should be weighed (HEs and syns).....it's very easy to get complacent about that!

Try having a large glass of water with your meals (or before the meal if you prefer). This really does help with weight loss and the veggies should also keep you 'going' :rotfl:

For the person who asked about Success Express here are the rules:

    SUCCESS EXPRESS

    Step 1
Have Three Success Express Meals a Day. At each meal follow the two to one principle.
Fill two thirds of your plate with Super-free foods then one third of the plate with foods that are Free on Green or Original.

    Step 2:
Add one or two Healthy Extra ‘A’ Choices and two ‘B’ choices from either the Green or Original lists.

    Step 3:
Snack on Super-free Foods such as fresh or frozen fruit, vegetables, eggs or very low fat dairy products. You can add Healthy Extras to Snacks.

    Step 4:
Choose your Syns; enjoy five to 15 Syns per day. You can enjoy your Syns as part of a meal or for treats.
Snacks, desserts or starters that are not Super-free or Healthy Extras are counted as Syns.

    SERVING SENSE

To get the maximum benefits from Success Express. It is best to follow the easy guidelines that put a little structure and control into your serving sizes.

If you find yourself building “towers” of food that are mainly free on Green or Original, it might be better to go for that choice rather than busting the “true” two to one principle.

On a Success Express Day, everything you eat that isn’t a Free Food (following the two to one principle), a Super-free Food or a Healthy Extra has Syns. If a Syn has a higher value on one choice than the other then you must take the higher value.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

  • Hi, mind if I join y'all? Just finished my first week on SW, I love the diet - you can eat so much! Delighted to report that I have lost 4lb (another 70 to go). It seems like a big mountain to climb, but breaking it down into half-stone blocks, and there is some great inspiration on this thread! Todays menu:

B - 2 boiled eggs and toast (HE)
L - pasta with grated cheese (HE)
Dinner - Quorn sausages with rice
    Lots of mango!
Tonight I get to have a few vodkas (saved up my Syns for the weekend!)

I love this plan, and it is such a healthy way of eating.

    Hi peeps

i`ve been lurking for a while and wondered whether or not to post :o

I`ve recently dug out my old SW books with just the red and green days and i`m going to have a go on my own without classes.

I`ve done a basic meal plan for 7 days - well 7 weeks actually as i work shifts and its difficult to eat properly unless i plan well ahead. I`ve not worked out my HE`s etc to add to it yet so will work on that a little later if i get the chance any suggestions are more than welcome. I wondered if you peeps would have a quick look at the basic plan for this week and let me know if it looks ok or not.

This is the plan so far :-

Red SC Chicken paprika & leeks and cauliflower/2 Slices bacon & 2 boiled eggs / Tuna on toast/Grapefruit

Green SW Egg fried rice Porridge /hm lentil soup /Apple

Red SW Rogan josh & cauli rice/Cheese & pepper omelette / hm veg soup - large green salad/Tangerine

    Green SW Wedges & beans/Porridge /jacket potato & beans/ grapefruit

Red SC Chicken paprika & leeks and cauliflower/2 Slices bacon & 2 boiled eggs / Tuna on toast/Strawberries

Green SW Egg fried rice Porridge /hm veg soup or pasta & pesto salad /Banana

Green HM Pizza/cauli pizza / Porridge / Pasta & mushrooms & red pesto Melon

I`ve tried to include things that i can take to work and reheat quickly as i usually get around 15 mins for a break depending which area i`m working in. I sometimes work in an office alone for a while and that is when i start snacking, i`m not a fruit eater at all and i`m hoping to change that. I`m going to allow myself a bag of quavers (5 syns) and a small voddie most days as my treats (2x2.5ml = 5 syns) I`m deliberately leaving out potatoes, rice and pasta on the red days as they really set me off craving carbs :o

    Thanks everyone.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Scan Bran (available from group or Holland & Barratt) really does help weight loss but do drink lots of water with it. For anyone intereted in making cakes etc with Scan Bran, I've added all the recipes I used in group to our recipe thread:-

Seems ok but where are the super frees, I know its not essential like EE but it does help to include them as will help with the weight loss. Also doesn't look a lot meal wise unless its a big portion, I'd be tempted to bulk out with some super frees but then I'm a greedy cow :rotfl:
I do mostly green days but ALWAYS add extra super frees like onions, toms, mushrooms, peppers etc even when I'm only having egg & sw chips and of course theres always fruit & yogurt.

    HTHS
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
