Right, a small gain yesterday, but totally deserved. Back firmly on track today though. Food plan for today:

    B - nana, apple
    L - cous cous + roasted veg
    D - bolognese + cheese (HEA)

Syns - large glass of white wine (8 syns)

For the weekend I have some syn-free prawn fried rice planned, and maybe some fish with veg rice. Going to Nice for two days with work, so plan to steer clear of alcohol and cheese, but not worry too much about other stuff. Also got some body magic to do tonight - have found a 5km walk through the park that takes about 40 - 50 mins depending on how quick I go.

Well done to the losers, some really good results there :T

Dizzy you poor thing - I would say I feel your pain but I must admit to being grateful I can't :rotfl:I have had neuralgia though and your descritption of being plugged into the mains just about covers it...ouch _pale_ Hope you're feeling better soon.

Skintslimmer - aside from using the carrots in soup (which I think is lovely) you could try this recipe:-

CARROT, PARSNIP & POTATO CURRY (from SW magazine)
(Serves 4 at 1½ syns per portion)

    1 onion
    2 cloves garlic
    283g each parsnips and potatoes
    2 carrots
    1tsp grated ginger
2tbsp mild curry powder (or to taste)
    400g can chopped tomatoes
    3-4tbsp sweetener
    100ml reduced fat coconut milk
284ml chicken stock made with Bovril
Salt & freshly ground black pepper
    5tbsp freshly chopped coriander
    Juice of 1 lime

Prepare the veggies: peel & finely chop the onion, crush garlic, peel & chop the parsnips; potatoes & carrots & cut into bite sized pieces.
Fry the onion & garlic in a little Frylight for 2-3 mins. Add ginger & curry powder & fry for 30 seconds. Stir in the veggies & tomatoes & bring to the boil.
Stir in the sweetener, coconut milk & stock, cover & simmer for 25-30 mins or until veg is tender & sauce thickened.
Season well, stir in the coriander & lime juice and serve.

*Other root veg can be substituted for those in this recipe. Try swede, sweet potato or turnip.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Ooh that sounds nice consultant31, thanks :) I don't have any ginger but do have the other ingredients - do you think it'll matter or do you think that's an essential ingredient?

Hiya  Any chance I can join you in here. I joined SW for the first time last night, and having never dieted in my life, I probably could use some help, and people to make sure I'm doing this right. I'm doing EE, and my consultant said for me to only use 10 syns, as I need to loose just under 2 stone. So would you mnd casting your eyes over what I've had today, as I feel absolutely stuffed, so surely this can't be right :o

    B: Apple, strawberries
S: 2 Alpen light bars (HEB)
L: Can of sardines in tomato sauce, salad (lettuce, cucumber, spring onions, red onion, carrots, tomatoes, beetroot)
    S: Orange
D: Gnocchi bake (gnocchi (1.5), tinned tomatoes, onion, garlic, bacon, courgettes, cheddar (HEA), mozzarella (3.5)), salad as above, raspberries.

Drinks: Tea (0.5 for milk), water

So this means I have 4.5 syns left if I've done this right. If so, I'd really like a hot chocolate before bed, but it's not a 'light' version, just t$scos economy, and I'm not sure how many that would be.

    Thanks

Hi Rachel, it certainly looks as if you have the right idea, you have plenty of yummy superfree foods in there! Sorry I'm not sure of the Tesco hot choc but did they give you a PIN at class so you can check online? You click on Syns, then write Tesco, then hot chocolate and choose yours from the list.

well I've dragged my way onto the website and put in Tesco and hot chocolate and it brought up one easter egg, so I tried chocolate and it brought up 4 pages of choc bars, and said there were more and I was to be more specific - so i gave up, sorry! Better have something else for your supper drink, or take a chance!
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
