Hello everyone, I wondered if anyone could recommend a nice curry recipe. I'm not very keen on tomatoey ones and that's all I seem to be able to find. Thanks.

I use pataks korma curry paste (works out around 2 syns per portion) and I use fat free fromage frais instead of cream. Not perfect but a great alternative. Obviously you could just use all the right spices instead of curry paste, but I'm a cheater :)

Good morning all from a very soggy, overcast n rainy here

Well done on the losses folks :Tand hope those feeling off colour are on the mend soon!!!

So then, 2lbs off for me this week so I got my 8.5st shiney and its just 3lbs to my next target

Hubby has gone to his golf competition -which probably accounts for the crap weather -so Im going to get some organising done.... the plan today was/is:-
    * strip the chicken and turn the carcass into chicken n sweetcorn soup - stock under way
    * make some bread dough - turn it into 1 loaf of bread and 2 x 8" pizzas for hubby -dough proving
    * make the ratatouille -in the oven as I type
*make a big RED day frittata
*do the potato n onion layer for lunch today -layered and ready to switch on
    * cook the rest of the potatoes I want to use up and make cheese, onion n potato pie and freeze for later in the week
AND THAT should be more than enough for the bloomin day

I "think" Im having a GREEN day today which will hopefully look like this:-
    250ml semi (A)
    banana
    melon
    mango
    pineapple
    activia (2.5)
    potato n onion bake
    activia (2.5)
    frozen raspberries
    frozen cherries
    ratatouille (1)
    28g cheddar (A)
    potato wedges (0.5)
    fibre plus (B)

So thats 2A+1B and 6.5 syns accounted for.... so I need to find anothe rheB at least...
Im planning on topping a portion of the ratatouille with cheese and baking then having it with wedges -just hope its as nice as it sounds in my head -oooh and if I think it needs it I could always "buy" some more cheese with my spare syns

We went out for a walk yesterday and stopped off on the way home at a great Asian/Greek market shop where I like to get my fruit from.. I came away with :-
    1. 2 HUGE mutant pineapples -nearly 3kg each  nomnomnom
    2. melon
    3. 3 aubergine
    4. 1 courgette
    5. 5 peppers
    6. golden plums -that are no more :p
    7. 3kg rock hard little red apples
    8. plum vine tomatoes
it came to €11 which is great when you take into account my super pineapples :j
Right -thats enough waffle for now -time to get off and make a start in the kitchen - have a great day everyone

    Cake is now decorated.

I made the filling from the Fromage Frais I drained yesterday. It thickened up quite nicely. I added some splenda to taste and a drizzle of lemon extract to give it a bit of a zing.

I would say that this cake is better if you bake and eat on the same day. The cakes went a little 'sad' but they still hold up. I will report back what the family thought of it later today.

Huge Congrats to Magnolia and MrsM - great losses.

Having a good weekend so far. Going for big walk later with our dog and our friends with their dogs so that will be fun and burn off some calories.

    :happyloveHAPPY MOTHERS DAY :happylove

WTG MAGS & MRS M fantastic losses as usual :T:T:T:T:T

MrsM you could use your other HEB for the cheese instead of using syns [or do both :D]

I WI this morning with 1lb loss which I'm very happy with, I didn't really want to lose the 2lb I gained last week as I was too far below target for my liking due to stress. So am very happy where I am even though its still below target :p.

Have a feeling I may gain the 1lb after today as hubby wants to make a FULL FAT lasagne with garlic bread for lunch today so wish me luck.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

ooooooooooh takeiteazy -you are a genius :jI completely forgot I was having a green day so I could have cheese as my other heB .... I don't know how as I do often use cheese as a B ...ooooh extra cheese on my ratatouille :j -I may have to do a mix of cheddar, mozzarella and fresh parmesan :j- Well done on your loss too :T

Well -I have got the soup made and in 2x1lt pots to freeze, the ratatouille is done and in a tub for the fridge (minus mine for dinner tonight), the potato n onions are on in the remoska and the bread dough is still proving -annnd the frittata will get done tomorrow when I have space to get it chilled quickly :p

Magnolia -your cake looks lovely :T

    Well done you losers!

I am on holiday from today, in Wales, the idea being to walk lots, so I'm going to challenge myself to go a bit further every day. (I am on the coastal footpath just past the Gower.) No people trying to be helpful and making not-so-good food, just me and healthy food.

Did my usual Sunday morning WI before I left home, 3lbs off again. So I have lost just over two of the three stones I set myself at Christmas. Then I think I want to perhaps lose one more after that.

I went to a celebration yesterday, and had to have a last minute rethink about what I had intended to wear, it was all too big. In a bit of a rush I decided it had to be an 'old' skirt and the dreaded tights. Ugh!!!

I am beginning to get into 18's for the first time in over two years and it feels great. The plastic bags of 'too-bigs' to go into the loft are getting fuller and fuller. I'm not throwing anything away until I have kept the weight off for at least 12 months - last time I had to buy so much big and baggy stuff.

Have a good week everyone, don't give up, even if you waver. YOU CAN DO IT!
