Normal sunday for me mostly, decorating my dads old house, only unfortunately he's now been diagnosed with Vertigo so he can't help out at the moment. Usually we'd have been so pooped that we'd have picked up a Subway or something on the way home but I really want to get under 14stone this week at weigh in, so we came home a different way..
I did pop in Co-op on the way home and there were loads of bread and croissants reduced, i refrained from filling my basket!! :T got cheapy Coke Zero instead (and a freddo)

Minimad - this is a lovely curry sauce and can be used over anything, meat or veg:-
Syn free curry sauce.
1 Onion
2 cloves Garlic
1 tsp finely grated ginger
1tbsp hot or med curry powder
400g tin chopped tomatoes
57ml/2fl oz veg stock
2 tbspn sweetener
57g/ 2oz natural yoghurt or fromage frais (for creaminess)
Chop onions and crush garlic.
Spray frying pan with fry light and place on heat - add onion, garlic, and ginger and fry for 1-2 mins before adding curry powder. Stir well.
Cook for couple more mins then add tomatoes, sweetener and stock.
Bring to boil and reduce heat to simmer gently for 12-15 mins.
Then blitz sauce in food processor or with hand blender, and return to heat. Heat gently then stir in the yoghurt or fromage frais.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Happy mothers day to all the mothers!
Last few days have been on track for me - yippee! Also full of speed foods because that's what's left from my last shop, and there's plenty of it so I won't go shopping before that is used up.
I appear to have reached a breakthrough with syns. I haven't had chocolate for almost a week, because I thought I'd try giving it up again. Instead when I've craved sugar I've gone for weetabix out of healthy extras with sugar, or some sugar sprinkled in a free yoghurt. I don't "do" adding sweeteners to things because I think they mess your body up, but having a little sugar on something is turning out to satisfy the sweet things craving with much less syns than i would have spent on chocolate, so overall I am very pleased with this progress!
I'm not saying I've been a saint, because there was a scone with jam and cream yesterday and half a bottle of red wine earlier in the week, but compared with my recent weeks of synning, and my musings over eating too much free food, I feel much more in control of things now, and that in itself feels FANTASTIC! :j Instead of going "cold turkey" with overeating too much food I have decided I can have seconds (just not 3rds and 4ths...), and that seems to have worked well so far, I feel more aware of what and how much I am eating now.
I've just found out its star week, so i'm not too sure how much of these probems were related to that...:rotfl: but I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for everyone being there for me.
End of mushyness.Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
I am on holiday from today, in Wales, the idea being to walk lots, so I'm going to challenge myself to go a bit further every day. (I am on the coastal footpath just past the Gower.)
Oh polly, I'm so envious of your holiday! I come from Swansea originally so know that part of the world very well indeed. If you do go into the city, visit the indoor market and have some cockles with plenty of vinegar and pepper. An absolutely syn free snack and (IMO:)) delicious! I have some every time I'm visiting family, much nicer than the stuff in jars. Good luck with the Body Magic!0 -

Well done Skint - it sounds as though you're making real headway there. We all have to find what it is that makes it work for us and you sound as though you're getting thereI let my mind wander and it never came back!0
