    hiya all

Had quite a good day today really although I have just had an extra bowl of cereal so im counting that as 4 :( plus my dime bar later 7 = 11 might have to eat some of OHs kitkat that is looking at me fom the fridge.

Mangos still rock hard even though I bought them ages ago :(
Lynz Asda used to sell packs of frozen mango, a bit seasonal like the rhubarb, but it beats waiting for something to ripen (then goes off within a day  )

One of the mangos were ok.I have looked for the frozen one in my asda but its not there, ( we only have a small asda here)

I am thinking i might try adn fashion some sort of solution to put the fruit outside in the sun while im out to help ripen. I dont have a Kitchen windowsill which would be perfect.

    Anyone do this?

the point is once its ripe, eat the whole thing in one day and up that superfree :D:D

I dont think its a RULE that you cant have more than 1 a day Lynz.... 'more of an urban myth type thing' But nanas can bung you up a bit. I guess its just a case of judging for yourself how you are with them ;)
I personally think bananas (and grapes) can slow down weight loss because they are sooooo easy to eat that people have been known to eat three or four bananas a day, or bunch after bunch of grapes. My consultant always asks if people are doing this if their weight loss slows when they are being 100% good.

Wow you lot can talk. I go to sleep for 12 hours and there's 4 pages to get through!!

Seriously though, this thread is so much more encouraging than the group I went to as either people just weighed and left or there just wasn't enough time for people to talk about stuff once everyone's losses etc had been read out.

Anyway, Lynz yesI work in a hospital - home to barmy ideas. It's a new infection control thing apparantly, no drinks allowed out on the ward or unit. They get away with it because they say you can drink, but you have to go somewhere else to do it.

Because I work on ITU it's not possible, for safety reasons, for me to be ducking off every hour, down to the staff room to have a drink. The last couple of nights I've been in the single side room on my own with someone. If in the 5 mins I'm gone, she woke up a bit and ended pulling her breathing tube out and disconnecting herself from the ventilator, I'd be up for disciplinary, not to mention the guilt I'd feel!

I do think too that the constant change in shifts, days to nights in the same week etc, doesn't help weight loss/gain (would love to blame it completely!), neither does the stress. It's to do with cortisol levels apparantly. It is a factor, but ultimately it's still down to my laziness and bad choices which I make when tired/stressed.

I work in the NHS and I am going to ask at work if this "rule" is legal because I thought there was a (legal!) rule that all staff have to have a fifteen minute break every x hours (4 I think) at least. ITU or no ITU. You'll end up in ITU yourself going without water for hours on end.

Hi everyone, I can't pop in much at the mo (jolly good, I hear you shout) cos of the kitchen being done. I dunno how I fitted so much garbage into my kitchen. I swear the new one WILL BE KEPT TIDY AND MINIMAL.

anyway, I did fly into my group at the last minute last night and had lost 2 lb, even when I was trying to lose weight I only ever went down a pound at a time! Stress I think :D. I may re-set my target in a couple of weeks, see if I can get down to the next half stone.

aww I'm really not getting the hang of EE am I?

If you go onto the website www.slimming-world.com you will find a full 7 day menu plan. It may help to show you what constitutes a good EE day :)
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

I'm having my kitchen done too, I had to empty it yesterday my living room is full, so got to live in my bedroom for a few days till everything can go back!! Kitchen got stripped today, just got home from work and the house is a tip, so I am going the pub tonight in the hope that a few vodkas will help me to not notice the mess for a few hours lol.

Hi, all, it must be kitchen doing up time cos I've had mine ripped out and we are also living in the bedroom at the moment!!!

I've weighed in tonight and stayed the same YET AGAIN! I have been really good this week but think I might not have eaten enough cos we're living on meat cooked on the George Foreman grill, spuds that you put in microwave for 6 minutes and salad. I know this is very healthy but very boring.

I'm hoping to do better next week cos I still want to complete the challenge.

    xx

I can barely get into the bedroom that (and the shed) is where most of the ahem junk has been stored! I only cook in a microwave,Confused57, with occasional help from a halogen oven and a GF grill. I cooked a chicken at the weekend, then did about 7 different lots of vegetables and some sweet and regular potatoes. I opened out 5 freezer bags and put a different combination of carbs and vegetables into each, and either a thigh or leg or big of (yuck boring) breast into each, and froze them so I have kind of a surprise each day! Next week I may try eating out some evenings but tbh I prefer to stay here and tidy up and have a big mixed salad rammed into a warmed up Co-op wholemeal pitta.

Just completed third week on EE and really pleased as I've lost another 3 lb, so thats 11 lb in three weeks. I would really like to lose another 2/3lb as I would hit a different target weight........been breaking it into small targets before holidays.
