    Hi all, for info,

    initially I was sent this...

'Thank you for your email regarding a free gift. Unfortunately this offer is only open to people who recommend a friend, and not to new customers. Upon checking your account, you are not a first time customer. You originally opened your account on the 7th of July 2004. We trust this is to your satisfaction. If you have any further queries please e-mail again.
When replying to this e-mail, please attach your original e-mail to ensure
    a speedy and accurate response.'

    I responded with this..

I am extremely concerned about your recent 'e' mail stating I am already
    an account holder.

As far as I am aware I have never been a customer of your business and therefore have not had any dealings with yourselves. I would suggest this account may be fraudulent. As you will realise any such illlegal dealings would of course affect myself and therefore I will be taking action.

Could you send me immediately information regarding this account, date of
joining, copies of signatures, banking details, transaction details, payment
    record and other such information.

As I am completely unaware of this account I would request you suspend this
account forthwith because it is not me even thoughb if it operates using
    my name and address.

I look forward to an early response

    And today have recieved this...

    'Thank you for your email.

Firstly, please accept our apologies for the previous email that you received. This was sent in error.

We can now confirm that an order for the Smoothie Maker has now been placed.

Unfortunately, we have no stock of the item at the moment, but we are expecting more stock around 27/03/05, and the item should then be automatically despatched to you.

Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

If you have any further queries please e-mail again.
When replying to this e-mail, please attach your original e-mail to ensure a speedy and accurate response.

So I wonder if they will send the free gift to new customers or previous customers.

Well as I've never been a customer (despite their suggestion I have with date) I appear to be in line for the free gift. I'd love to know what they based that information on or if it was a bluff? :p
  • Well just rang Grattons and they have said sorry but it is £29.99 or you can cancel the order.......... So I said I had screenshots of receipt and order page and then got "it is £29.99 or you can cancel the order".......

I need the email addy for grattons where you can send an attachment aswell so they can see them please if anyone knows it....

Also ordered one from Freemans and they have said that they will send me the toothbrush out and defer payment until the matter has been cleared up and I have posted the screenshots to them....:( :)

Trouble again is I have only got the receipt from the order from Freemans and not the actual picture with the toothbrush and the £9.99 price on it.If anyone can help me please pm me
    Thanx....

Email address of Gratten is customer.services@grattan.co.uk

I have enclosed screen shots on another page in this thread. I am omitted my personnel details. Just perhaps explain you omitted the name/address because you are concerned about sending personnel information via email.
