Thanks guys for your messages - sorry I have been AWOL - its been a tough time.

DH is angry - this is how his grief is coming out at the moment. Angry one minute and apologetic the next for being such a grumpy bear. I have has couple of days when I can barely hold it together - was very fond of the FIL and as it is so close to loosing Dad, its hitting home even more.

We are getting through it and things will start to get sorted now the Death Note has been issued (yesterday) and they are probably registering as we speak.

I am afraid that MSE has gone by the way-side again - apart from normal deposits. I STILL have to go to the bank - but I have also mis-laid my bank card (not stolen - account is intact) - been trying to find it, but got a feeling I am going to have to report it as lost tomorrow - then of course it will turn up!

I am going to try to do my best with MSE over the next few weeks, but will make a concerted effort to get back to it properly when we get back from holiday (6th August).

There is a good chance we are going to have to help out with funeral expenses - but what are emergency savings for! This shouldn't touch our house savings at all - and to be fair I am glad that we can help. MIL was on about getting a loan out!!!!! What's the point when we have money sitting there! (She's very proud - but got to be practical - approaching with care).

Ontop of it all DH has cellulitous (probably spelt wrong) from an insect bite that got infected at the hospital! He's on really strong anti-biotics and they are really knocking him about - just what he needs right now! I know this is adding to his grumpiness at the moment.

Trying to be there for him - but he tends to bottle things up hoping that he will let it out soon - worried about him.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings. Will pop in from time to time and catch up with you all soon.

PS Thanks everyone for your support.

Thanks GG - its tough - but all you can do is stick together.

Wow, I just read my last post and what alot of typos! Have corrected them now as that sort of thing drives me nuts.

MIL has accepted our offer of help, but she is staying firm that she will pay us some money back. It has hit the house savings, but only by £600 - by the begining of next month with my bank deposits (when they happen) and the regular deposit - this should be back up to where we are now (more or less) - so no worries there.

Good news that she's accepting your support rather than getting a loan. At least if she insists on paying you back she can do at a rate that suits her.

Hope you both continue to support each other through these hard times.

Sorry AWOL again and I am sure that this will be the caser until I get back off holiday.

    Week today - can't wait.

Funeral went smoothly - which is all we can ever hope for and we are now getting ready to go away.

Once we get back we can get life back on track - both personally and financially.

Hope everyone is well - catch up with you all soon.
