Just caught up with your diary, MCI. So sorry you have been having such a grim time. Don't worry about the whole MFW thing again until you feel ready. Cut yourself some slack, spend a bit in ways that take the pressure off you and save time, effort and stress. The mortgage can wait until you've recovered a bit.

Oh, and have a dodgy hug from me: :grouphug:

    Hi everyone

Had a lovely holiday and a fairly productive second week off at home (even though I didn't get everything done that I wanted to get done).

Back to work now, so getting back into a routine of sorts now.

Need to check our joint account to see what the actual state of play is with that now - I reckon we are back up to the amount in the house fund that is on my signature - but need to check for exact amount now.

Been getting back into the menu planning (sort of) as its doing my head in not knowing what we are having for tea.

I have planned till Thursday this week and then will get another plan done for the rest of the month (roughly).

So, we had HM Spag Bol and Garlic Bread last night and tonight is Seafood Paella.

Small amount of shopping to do at Mr T this evening so I can cook the next few meals. We are lucky to have some salad leaves in the garden at the moment and we have been eating our first courgettes (though just waiting for some more to get big enough now).

Back to work has also ment, doing lunches again and I am still desperate to find something that DH will eat that is different - ham sandwich after ham sandwich is incredibly boring.

So yesterday we had ham and tomato sandwiches and today we have had chicken, salad and sweet chilli wraps. Planning tuna rolls for tomorrow.

Have finally had my last payment on my inheritance from our family friend's estate - glad that its over and I will now be able to get rid of some paperwork (when I finally get round to it - got my own to sort first!!!).

Need to book an annual review with the Nationwide and sort out my finances for this year - really late this year - but with the way things have been its been impossible to plan these things.

Hope everyone is well and I also hope I will be able to catch up with the diaries soon. Shouldn't be too AWOL from now on - need to get things back on track.

Thank you all for your support.

    Hi megela

    It's good to be back.

Tea was delish last night and we had some fried battered squid rings with it (bit indulgent, but nice). Shopping came in at approx £8. Going to start noting down the shopping totals again from next month - still in credit with the bank, so can't have gone that much over if I have at all.

Still need to do a freezer inventory so I can plan for the rest of the month.

Tonight is Pork Chops with Lemon, Fennel Seeds, Sage & Garlic. Lunches today have been Ham and Lettuce wholemeal rolls for DH and chicken noodles with ham and spring onion for me.

If the weather holds, I will do an hour up the allotment tonight.

Didn't go up the allotment - it rained!

Went to see MIL and she has given us £100 back - I thought she was going to take some time before starting to pay us - but she insisted. Not sure whether to allocate towards the house or the emergency pot - maybe I will split down the middle - though still got to check the status of the account to know exactly where we stand.

Menu planned for next week and shopping list compiled. Herr A later and Mr T tomorrow (back to the routine). Still need to have a good look in the freezers so the following week can be planned too - one of my Saturday jobs I think.

Tonight tea is a fridgeraiders tea - will definately comprise of ham and eggs - but not sure whether to do omelettes with salad or egg fried rice - will let DH decide when I get home.

Today's lunches have been tuna and sweet chilli sauce wholemeal rolls for DH and mackeral fillets in tomato sauce on toast for me.

BTW the 50p Penguin is quite full and I really need to count him - this is probably the only thing that we have kept up with MSE wise over the last few weeks - I am also ashamed to say that I still haven't taken the last bag of £20 in 50ps to the bank yet and can't remember whether the money will be mine when I deposit it in my account or whether it needs to be transferred (transferred the £200 that DH had given me and used the cash for my spends).

Phew, didn't think I had much to write today, but its turned out quite wordy! Thanks for reading.

Need to write this down before I forget.

From the money we paid out for the funeral only £473 was from the house fund - the rest was our emergency/holiday pot.

So, now the MIL has given us £100 back - there will be just £373 until we are back up to where we should be with the house fund.

Going to add it to my signature until we have caught up.
