When I got my Kitchenaid at beg of year there was a card to send of for a free Kitchenaid Cookbook - it's worth sending off for as it's a large decent hardback book - not just a flimsy leaflet. Although some recipes use the attachments or the blender as well.

I use mine all the time - made butter in it last week!

    Have a good weekend.

Thanks MWC for the birthday wishes...

Weather is really dreary here today, so have still not made it down the town to pay in money - so that is going to be a job for next week when its snowing no doubt!

At least that means that I will have a signature update to do next week:T.

Spent about £6 on groceries last night and only a couple of items to get from Mr T later - so hopefully I will be under the £15 budget for this week. Just got a couple of birthday cards and a mothers day card to get - but those come out of a different pot!

Tonights tea is Turkey with citrus and ginger sauce - might try to cook brown rice again as I was too impatient last time - it does relly take a long time, but I must get more wholegrain into our diet.

    On the list this weekend:

    Charity:
    - Finish minutes
    - Send an membership application out
    - Society lottery return

    Home:
    - General Chores
    - Clean fridge (and list contents)
    - Full freezer inventory (downstairs and upstairs)
    - Organise freezers better so items don't get lost
    - Declutter something!!!

    Cooking:
    - Make dessert for down MILs on Sunday (Crumble I think)
    - Make some soup for lunches next week (Leek, Potato and Swede)

    At least its Friday...

Hope everyone has a great weekend (despite the terrible weather forecast).

    MCI:)

Well, DH and I have just finished an epic fridge and freezer clear out.

We have 33 types of items in the fridge:eek:
Plus 16 unfinished jars of stuff

A half empty chest freezer (now defrosted and cleaned too):j

And a repacked upstairs freezer :j

    I have even done lists!;)

Will have to re-look at the menu plan I've done for this month and tweak a few things to use up stuff that needs using up sooner rather than later.

Haven't done a dessert as I had a Belgian Chocolate Cake off a friend yesterday as a belated birthday present - so going to take that down to MILs for pudding so it doesn't get wasted (cos we will never eat it all).

Soup hasn't been made either, freezer sort out took longer than expected.

Oh well, we are both pleased with ourselves anyway.

Off down MILs shortly. DH doesn't believe in Mother's Day, but I have told him in no uncertain terms that WE are doing the washing up tonight!

    :dance:KitchenAid has arrived!!!!!!!:T

    Can't unpack it properly here...but really excited:rotfl:

Really looking forward to using it!

No other news today as still haven't made it to the bank to pay in!

Grocery Spends stand at £164/£200 - so on track even though it will be tight.

Tonights tea will be Turkey Stroganoff as I'm at a meeting tonight. This will be using one of the 3 portions of turkey I have left from Christmas:eek: (but at least I do now know how much Ive got left).

    Happy Monday everyone!

Had Apricot Jam on toast when I got in from work as a snack before I went to my meeting - so that's one jar down (15 to go!)

Just ordered DHs birthday present - hopefully cashback will track. I have also ordered him a BP monitor (not a birthday present, but a present all the same) - I told him about this months ago and he still hadn't sorted one - so now there is one on the way.

He was put on new tablets before Christmas and they haven't checked his blood pressure since - his review date is May! And we don't even know if they are doing him any good.

Snowing on and off here today - so still no trip down the town to pay into the bank - but think I forgot to bring it with me today anyway!

Been thinking more about the declutter / loft clear out and I think that we might have to spend a day or two over Easter sorting out the upstairs of the house, so we have room to bring down the contents of the loft during whit week. Didn't manage to declutter anything over the weekend, but need to make some room on the dining room unit to fit my Kitchen Aid (no room in the kitchen!)

Wonder if anywhere sells covers for Kitchen Aids?

Just got pop to Mr T on the way home and pick up some more yoghurts for DHs lunches (no more than £1.50) and get some savings stamps.

DH will have to fend for himself on the food front as I am going out with a friend for a curry tonight (belated birthday treat) - so should be FOC for me!

Enjoy the Kitchen Aid. Lots of people at school have them and absolutely love them.

Had a lovely curry with my friend last night - don't see him very often as he has moved away from our home town, but we have been friends for nearly 40 years! So good to catch up.

Isn't it strange how if you are really good friends that you can just pick up where you left off without the time apart seeming to matter?

:jBoth lots of cashback have tracked:j

The BP monitor arrived today and we have all been trying it out at work. People get excited here when a new toy arrives!:rotfl:

£1.50 spent at Mr T last night as predicted - but have to go again tonight as I have run out of bread for DHs sandwiches - if I can get some rolls that will see him to the end of the week.

Braved the periodic snow to go down the bank today to pay cheque and cash in. Came back and quickly transferred £50 to the deposit fund from my birthday money.

Birthday card bought for my mum for Sunday and present arrived in the post today.

Have tweaked the menu plan to incorporate some things we are both doing in the next couple of weeks and to use up things in the fridge / freezers.

Steak Dinner for us tonight with HM Mushroom Sauce and Herby Roast Potatoes.

Hope everyone well on this mixed weather Wednesday.
