What with you and Fortune Smiles, it's a culinary delight. Maybe we could share our time between both of you?
Best wishes Tilly x x
Thanks Tilly - thats a real compliment
I can set two extra places!:D
I like to document what we are having as it helps me to stick to the meal plan.
Feeling the need to try some new dishes - just bought another cook book "Barefoot Contessa" - liked the TV series (even though DH can't stand her) and to have the recipes now is great.
Still got a Waterstones voucher to use too - so going to get one of those middle eastern cookbooks muddywhitechicken suggested...
Must go and check out Fortune Smiles thread to see if I can get any more ideas.

Patiently waiting for payday!
Finalised DHs birthday presents today. Got a spa break for us both that is booked for the first Sunday in Whit week - this way its a joint birthday / wedding anniversary pressie and I won't get told off for spending too much money!
It has come out of my dividend anyway and I am happy for us to spend a little bit in order for us to get some time away together - we never seem to get any peace!
Not much else to report except DH will be cooking Bargainous Posh Sausage and Mash tonight as I'm at a meeting, but I'm aiming to get back before 9.
Wednesday again....don't know where the time goes - will be very glad to break up on Friday.

It's Payday!!!!!!
Had a positive networking event last night.
However, gggrrrrrrr to inconsiderate drivers - but thats another story.
Money Shuffle done:
£323 - standard deposit
£9 - Grocery underspend
£100 - Account Sweep
TOTAL: £432
Have no idea why I have so much left in my account - but I have checked the transactions and its right! So off it goes to the Deposit Pot!
£32.38 confirmed for next payment from £co (maybe next week) and 50ps still need to be deposited.
Got to pop to Herr A on the way home and also to Morri$$ons to get some petrol.
Out for a meal with DH tonight for his birthday - going for Italian mmmm....can't wait - could do with a treat after the week I've had.
Happy Thursday all - pity I'm at work tomorrow!

And so, another of grocery spends starts: £23 in Herr A last night - armed and ready for Mr T later.
Meal last night was delish and cheaper than usual as we both chose cheaper things on the menu - not on purpose - just what we fancied.
Not much to report as DHs regular deposit won't be in the bank till Tues.
Pick and mix tea tonight as DH is going out for lunch with a friend today (as he has the day off and I don't - yes that is envy in my words!) and probably won't want much to eat later.
Hoping to get away early today as the boss is on holiday - trying to get things finished off as quick as I can so I can go and get the shopping and then get home and finally relax for a few days.
If I don't pop on again before - I wish you all a wonderful Easter weekend.

So much for getting out of work early yesterday -glad to be on holiday now!
When I got home, DH had already bought supper - burgers, ciabatta rolls and big mushrooms as he'd been craving a burger all day - doesn't come out of the grocery budget as he bought them and refused to have the money for them! Pick and mix tea was straight from the freezer anyway, so will do another day.
He's done the same today buying some lemon pepper chicken from the market!
It also looks like we might be fed on Monday too as we have had an invite from our polish neighbours to go round for food - will need to take something with us, but its one less meal to cook all the same.
After 'big' shop at Mr T and sausage shop at Mr W (with 10% discount card I've got till 21 April) the grocery spends stand at just £79.91 and that includes wine and cat food! - hoping to bring it in substantially under budget this month - but we will see how it goes.
Logged on to our joint savings account today and we have a net interest payment of £28.99 which I am adding to our deposit pot.
Nothing special done today, just chores and catching up with family and friends - hoping to spend some QT with DH over the next couple of days.
Also going to make some soup and some bread (using the kitchenaid) over this weekend - going to use the EG bread recipe as recommended by Tilly.
Wish me luck for my first try at bread for about 15 years!
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and don't eat too much chocolate!

Hi there MCI
Really sorry to hear about the loss of your work colleague, always a shock but at such a young age too.
Poor you having to work Good Friday, is that normal for you? As ever your food sounds delish, mooching on yours and Tilly's thread is always guaranteed to make mouths water :rotfl:
My own home life is starting to stabilise a bit more now so cooking may soon be making a reappearance in my day to day life  Actually, I've always enjoyed cooking but apart from holidays I get very little opportunity so it will be good to get back into the swing of it again and I know just where to steal ideas from
It's still so cold isn't it, I'm feeling rather guilty as I'm snugged up on settee laptop and family member hard at it in the garden with a spade
Regards

Hi ATT
Good to see you:T
And thanks for all your kind words:)
We tend to work Good Friday every year - it feels pointless as we have no calls as such and its very quiet. However, I do usually manage to get some things done that don't normally - best thing is that the boss is usually away, so we normally get to go early - but not for the last two years:eek: But I do get Tuesday off!
Its definitely too cold still for doing things outside - so after a quick look (and it was a look) at the allotment on Sunday we came back to a nice warm fire and some hot cross buns!
I enjoy cooking most of the time, but I also like to eat out. I get phases where I don't have the motivation to cook and sometimes I have to force myself - (thinking of being MSE normally helps) - but that's why the odd fish finger sandwich sneaks into my menu plan,
Steal away, as my marketing lecturer always used to say, if its a good idea, steal it! Seriously, we are all here to share and if any of my ramblings can help - that makes me proud.
Take Care.
