Making dinner at the MILs later, so everyone gets a proper meal - and I feel useful!

Will prepare and cook everything while MIL and DH are visiting at the hospital.

DH bought the chicken and potatoes and I have plenty of veg. Going to bake some muffins for pudding - can be served hot with custard if liked!

Grocery spends stand at approx. £101/£200 at the moment. I think we might be up for a good underspend this month despite everything.

    Merry Monday again!

Got a really busy day at work today, so quick update.

DH has given me another £120 to put in the deposit fund from the sale of his van - that makes £200 altogether to pay in (probably tomorrow or Wednesday). This means we will shortly be over the £8k:j.

FIL is making steady progress,:j but he will be hospital for a good while yet. DH is looking into a weekly car park pass that can be passed between the cars taking MIL up there. (£14 for a week I think).

Got the charity AGM tonight (re-scheduled as not enough people turned up last time) and dinner is sitting in the slow cooker ready to ping on at 3pm using the timer.

Dinner is Slow Cooked Beef and Mushrooms and I will ask DH if he can do some mash & broccolli (its his day off from going up the hospital).

Hope everyone is well and has a good start to the week.

Will catch up with diaries when I can.

    Hi

I daren't rant on my facebook page and I've already ranted at DH and we both got upset.

    What a carp day.

    1. Had a really long day at work as got to work earlier, worked my lunch and worked over to get the files all sorted for our quality audit tomorrow. So, tired already!

    2. One of my colleagues is really getting on my nerves - questioning what I 'should or should not be doing' with my other colleagues - I smell a rat and I'm going to keep my guard up as I am vulnerable at the moment - one of my other colleagues thinks he's gunning for me.

    3. DH was quiet when I got in. His Dad is doing ok, but the surgeon is not happy with the way the wound is healing and they need to try a different method to get it sorted. He is also having breathing difficulties (which he was before the op) and they have put him on a nebuliser three times a day. So one step forward and one back with that situation although he does seem better in himself apparently.

    4. Not enough people turned up to our AGM again and we have had to re-schedule it yet again - what a waste of time. Is it really that difficult to get 8 people in one room!:(

    5. Unpleasant job has been passed to me - ringing the brother of our deceased colleague as he had left us a message on our answerphone - why me?:(:(

    6. And this is what really got my goat tonight - my Dad rang just as I was leaving the meeting at 8.30pm to go home and eat moaning about the bills he's had to pay and the fact that they would only take cash for the water rates and he couldn't pay the electric bill because they didn't have a payment card - oh dear, the electric company is going to have to wait another 10 days while the payment card arrives - he was moaning that the cheque would be lying around the house for the duration - OMG! And then he started going on about the fact that my brother wasn't getting any interest on his inheritance money! (this is because he's got it in a current account and won't put it into savings! I have tried to advise him, but he won't listen) OMG2!

Don't get me wrong, I love my Dad, but he has the knack of ringing me, blaming me for all and sundry, then expects me to work some magic on interest rates, the state of the utility companies (charges and services) - but then when you offer advice - he won't take it! ggrrrr!

Plus, me and DH got upset - my rant was the last thing he needs at the moment and I feel that everything is piling up on me - just want to do the right thing, but struggle to keep things inside as I'd go pop otherwise.

Sorry guys, rant over - I really don't expect you to read it, but its been good to get it off my chest!

  • Morning MCI, you both have a lot going on at the moment, so it's no surprise emotions are bubbling.

Do you have an opportunity to relax in the bath and have an early night?

Thanks Lois, Tilly and Squirrel - appreciate your support.

Not much sleep last night and still feeling a little fragile, but I'm hanging in there.

Soak in the bath with a glass of wine sounds like a plan - lets see how this evening pans out.

Hi MCI, think you need to borrow GGs glass belljar idea and drop it on all those nasty colleagues.

It's all combining to make you feel very emotional and unable to deal with the slightest little extra put upon you.

I do hope today goes better for you.

    Have a dodgy hug :grouphug:
