  • DH bought me a customised bar of choc for Valentines Day, its great, looking forward to eating it.

And of course I got 2 cards - one from DH and one from the CAT!:rotfl:

On the MSE front, got a bit of shopping to do at Herr A tonight and a very small list for Mr T tomorrow - can't see me spending more than £15 this week.

Grocery total is approx £157/£200 at the moment.

For tonights dinner we are having:

    Scallops with Chilli & Lemon
Haddock with Chorizo & Lime Crust, Roasted New Pots and Broccolli.
    HM Chocolate Fondants & Cream

Got a meeting at work this afternoon which I am absolutely dreading...its the annual kick up the bum which leaves everyone reeling:( - and then we just carry on as before. But it always makes me feel bad and guilty, even if I've done nothing wrong! Our boss can be very unreasonable at times - we all work very hard, but he still expects more. Lets face it, we are 10 people (in all) and we turn over £6m! we must be doing something right.

Will be in need of a glass from that bottle of pinot grigio when I get home! :)

  • Happy Friday everyone...this week has flown by.

Meeting was interesting yesterday, there is alot of testosterone floating round our company (I am one of 2 women who work here) - the next few months are going to be interesting. Think I'm going to keep my head down as much as possible.

Been informed on the QT today that our dividends are going to be paid at the end of the month, but I still don't know how much...hate it when the boss keeps you in the dark until the last minute!

Had the car MOT'ed this week, failed on a bulb - so only cost £51 (accounted for anyway, so not too bad at all). However, I am overdue for having the timing belt done, so need to book that in when I get paid - last thing I want is that going on me.

Booked to go and see another house tomorrow - not far from the last one. The outside isn't really my style, but the inside looks great! Its another house that needs ripping out and starting again - the only 2 things that arn't ticking boxes for DH are location and potential problems with off road parking - but still, we need to keep looking at properties so we can decide exactly what we want!

    PS The kitchen is MASSIVE!

Anyway, in other news: Herr A shop last night was £7.20 so approx total spends for the month is £164/£200. Very small Mr T shop of bread, fruit and olive oil spread tonight.

Tonights tea will be Chicken & Mushroom Pasta Bake.
Saturday's will be Turkey Meatballs with Mash, Gravy & Veggies
    Sunday - going to MILs

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

  • Hi Megela

No, not lost, just got to page 33!

Was at the hospital yesterday, so didn't catch up or post yesterday - nothing serious, just some tests.

  • Quick Update:

    - Went to see house; it was great inside and has a workshop for DH and a really surprising well kept garden. The kitchen is 20ft x 10 ft and absolute blank canvas. BUT although we love the inside, the location is not right and at the moment there is only shared access to the driveway. DH is a bit conflicted - so no decisions now - our house might not have come on the market yet.

    - TV bought! £449 - bought from shop so no cashback etc... but DH happy. Put old one outside, went to MILs and when we got back (3 1/2 hours later) it was gone! So no trek to the tip.

    - Inisisted that DH will have to let me buy his new laptop online to get cashback or points...have decided that I will pay for half from my bonus.

    - DH counted up his £2 coins and has given me £120 to put in the deposit fund, add that to the £20 in 50ps and I have got a fair bit of change to pay in when I go down the town (tomorrow I hope).

    - Didn't make the turkey meatballs for dinner on saturday as DH wasn't feeling very well. Made them on sunday and froze into 2 portions for another day.

    - Tonights dinner is Thai Style Crusted Fish, Pots and Veggies.

Hope everyone is well and has had a good start to the week.

Definite NO to shared driveway - could meet all sorts of problems.

And yes I keep telling you your house is 'around the corner'. It's worth waiting for the perfect one, not the 'that'll do' one.

I know you are right megela :) and I know that the longer we wait for the right one, the more money we will have towards it!

  • Was going to pop down the town today and pay the change in, but got bogged down with a charity matter at the begining of my lunch hour and its too late now.

Made the thai crusted fish last night and I am of the opinion that I don't like River Cobbler - it had an underlying aftertaste that I really didn't get on with. DH thought it was just bland.

Groceries stand at approx £174/£200 after a £7.89 shop at Mr T on Friday. Maybe a good root in the cupboards can keep the final weekend's shopping low.

Tonights tea is a Roast Chicken Dinner with all the trimmings.

Nothing else really on the MSE front today. Its Wednesday again.

  • Charity AGM stuff done at lunchtime today - so no trip down the town - it is definately on the cards for tomorrow as I really need to stretch my legs too.

Got two estate agents to ring to arrange viewings.

MSE things I need to do:

    - remembered I hadn't had £5 of petty cash back from work from buying some tea towels - have asked the accounts lady about it and she is looking for the receipt!
    - Carpet cleaning our charity did at the church a couple of weeks ago incurred a hire cost for the cleaner - I paid for this myself, so need to invoice the church its just over £50, so really need to claw that back.
    - inventory of freezer and cupboards required (ala Tilly) to do next month's mealplan.

DH is probably going out tonight, so Omelette for him and HM Soup for me.

    Happy Thursday folks!
