We have discussed it very little really. There are a couple of solutions we have now come back with for a couple of the quandries we had about the house - but in essence I think we need to go and have another look now the snow has gone to either rule it out or put it on the list.

We have been looking at our joint finances (not something we have really done in the past as we have seperate accounts and DH just puts money in my bank every month to cover the bills). Still calculating, but at first appearances it seems that we could afford the house even if we don't let our current house out straight away.

This is all useful to see how far we can stretch ourselves and still have a life!

Very useful exercise, I certainly feel a lot more positive since crunching the numbers of a new place ... even though the house sold before we got chance to look I know now that if a house of that value came up we could go and look at it.

I will await further updates on the house!!

  • Directors Report - done
    AGM Letters - done
Charity Commision Return etc... - tomorrow now
Money paid in bank - done
Mattress - DH is going with our neighbour tonhight to fetch it

As I've now paid the money in the bank I have transferred the £105 to the Deposit Fund - will update signature shortly.

Need a couple of things from Mr T (will probabaly get tomorrow rather than tonight - only about £2 worth - so should still have a tenner left from the grocery budget to go in the pot.

Going to a do with a couple of my colleagues on Saturday - at this point the boss will be paying for the tickets and we have just got to get our drinks - we have also booked to stay in the hotel so we can both have a drink and don't have to faff about with taxis (its about 10 miles from home) - bargain special rate of £55 for a double room with breakfast for 2 - unfortunately couldn't book through £co to get cashback, but not bad all the same. We don't go out very often together and it will be great to be out with my colleagues as we all really get on well together (the ones that are going anyway!) and even better - the boss isn't going to be there!

Had the salmon with cream & dill sauce last night at DHs request.

Tonight is more fish in the form of HM Paella.

2 days and counting! and then let the shuffle commence.

    Charity Commisssion Return - done
Mattress - got and although firm is very comfortable!
Transfer of money from bonus to Deposit Fund - to do

I spent my £50 Perfume Shop voucher yesterday - got some Euphoria (gift set as the set was the same price as the perfume on its own) and some J Lo Glow - had to put the massive sum of £2.49 towards this purchase - well happy.

I think the next one on the agenda will be the watersones voucher - those middle eastern cook books are calling to me. I have also got about £4 on a reward card for waterstones, so all good there...

Checked my nectar points today and I've got £10.45 worth and was glad to see that my points from e-shopping on amazon had gone through.

I am pretty sure that I will be able to tidy my account up tomorrow and add some more to the Deposit Fund once my wages have gone in - going to leave a buffer though - you never know.

Also, DH has upped his payment into our joint savings by £50 per month - so this is going to go into the Deposit Fund - this can updated on the 1st of every month.

Have had my noodles for lunch and resisted the temptation of getting a subway today (though I have got sub-points to spend).

Tonights tea will be a Turkey Dinner - a joint taken from the Christmas Turkey, some LO rare-breed pork cocktail sausages in the freezer from christmas; veggies, roasties and cranberry sauce. Also going to jazz a value pack of stuffing up with some garlic and lemon.

Can't believe its Wednesday again - so Happy Middle of the Week everyone.

1 day and counting to payday - bet I'll be counting down again next week! :rotfl:

Goodness you have been industrious, you put me to shame.

House purchases are so tricky, having to think with head and heart at the same time. I'm rubbish at it. I hope that you come to the right decision for you.

    Thanks Catshark.

We spoke a bit more about it last night, but we are still considering all our options - really need to go and have that second look.

I am rubbish at head and heart too - considering the worst thing for me is going to be leaving my little house and moving full stop.

  • Pay Day!!!!!!:j

I have done the money shuffle - sent money to my other current account for the annual bills and sent £364.82 to the deposit fund.

£323 - what we are now not paying on mortgage, insurance etc
£30.35 - half of what was LO above buffer in my current a/c
£11.47 - LO from the Grocery Budget

Really pleased as we are now above the £2k mark! Will need to update again tomorrow with DHs extra £50. I also need to set up to send £500 from my other current a/c to the deposit fund from my bonus (still) - prob a weekend job. After that, unless I have any £co payments, there prob won't be anymore money going in this month :( (unless DH sells some of his car collection!).;)

Have heard today that the tickets for the do on Saturday are being paid for by the boss - so only drinks and hotel room to pay for:j. (Saving £60).

In the throws of doing the mealplan for February and my shopping lists. Got £10 of Morri$ons vouchers to spend - so going to get some cupboard staples from there this weekend (never been in the place!).

Shop at Herr A tonight and Mr T tomorrow.

For tonights tea I will be using the LO Turkey from last night in a Butternut Squash & Harrisa Cous Cous dish.

I like Morrisons a lot (particularly their fresh food - meat, fish, fruit/veg and bread) and missed shopping there in January (due to spending nectar points in Sainsburys)

    Have a good weekend MCI
