  • Have been putting together a mealplan for next month, but had trouble excavating the freezer as the light fitting has gone wonky under the stairs and there is no light at the moment - managed to figure a few bits out, but failed to delve into the depths.

You need a head torch! My neighbours think I'm barking because in the autumn/winter I wear mine to do some evening gardening and take the compost out. And if I'm painting with my back to the room light I wear it too! I'm sure it'd be perfect for a freezer expedition too because it's hands free!

Sad though it may seem - DH has got one! :rotfl: I never thought of using it for that.

Good thinking. Will ask him where it is tonight.:)

LOL at the head torches :D Does sound perfect for freezer diving though! The light is broken in ours so who knows what lurks in the shadowy depths!
  • Thursday at last and PAY DAY is here!!!!

However, still not much happening. Have spent lunchtime figuring out what of my shopping I'm going to get tonight to get the £5 off £40 shop and what I shall get tomorrow - so double whammy Mr T and Herr A tonight.

The shopping list isn't looking too bad - there are things to stock up on like foil and clingfilm so this really helps with getting to that all important £40 - will buy our wine for the month too - that will take care of half of it.

Apart from that, I've nothing else to report except its HM Chicken Fried Rice tonight for tea using the LO chicken from last nights roast.

Hope everyone is ok - Happy Thursday everyone.

  • Hi MCI,

I've gotta wait till the last day of the month for my pay. Although they're still debating what payrise we're getting... like the last few years they'll probably decide when they feel like it then back date it!

Just finished HM chilli con carne... yummy!

Had a text of the Halif&x reminding me about our appointment tomorrow. Its at 10am - I was thinking it was 10.30am - good job they sent the text or would have been late.

I've got my stuff and the bills sorted, but DH doesn't have a clue what his incomings / outgoings are apart from what he gives to me and what he saves every month.

£59 spent on groceries last night Mr T and Herr A combined - got my £5 off voucher to use on the rest of the shop today at Mr T.

DH wasn't very well last night, so he only had a piece of toast for tea. I had LO mexican cheese on toast. If he doesn't fancy the Chicken Fried Rice tonight I will just shred the chicken and freeze it for use later. We are suppossed to be going out for tea tonight, but we are going to wait and see how he feels - I'd rather postpone it for a few days.

Taking my MIL and my two best girlfriends out for some lunch tomorrow - been promising to do it for ages.

Actually had a bit of rest last night - DH was tatting on the computer so sat down and caught up with strictly on iplayer - once I sat down the cat curled up on my lap and that was it - forced to sit down for 2 hours:rotfl:- managed not to nod off either which is a bonus for me.

Sun is suppossed to be shining this weekend (well in our neck of the woods anyway), so I hope eveyone has a great weekend.

It could be that you linked your credit card a while back and it's tracked that way... that's how they track offline shopping.

  • Hi

We went to our mortgage appointment on Saturday.

The first thing I asked was how much we owed on the mortgage - the figure (as of last Saturday) was £13120.33.

Recently I received an inheritance interim payment which will allow me to pay this sum off - which I intend to do next Saturday when I can get into the Halif&x again.:T

I am a bit embarrassed that I have kept this to myself and I hope you can all forgive me..., BUT it doesn't mean that I will be leaving MFW.

We are now going to save for a deposit on a new property before starting our next stage of MFW.

I know how lucky I am to be in this situation. So, countdown commences to being Mortgage Free part 1.

    More updates later...

Great news - though not the circs obviously. What a great feeling it must be :D. Duly forgiven :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
