Herr A shop came in at £8 last night...Mr T later - will probably be about £12 as cat biscuits and olive oil spread are on offer, so will stock up.
DH is going to fit the micro-chip cat flap this weekend, so hopefully my spend on extra cat biscuits will last longer as that bl***y fluffy black cat won't be able to get in anymore!
Tonights tea is spicy chicken wings (that didn't get used at the BBQ we had a few weeks ago and found their way into the freezer!), tuscan bread (part baked Herr A special) and a large greek style salad - I say 'style' as got some LO beetroot which I will add to use up.
Must stay motivated on the decluttering front.....
Hope everyone has great weekends!

Hi MCI,
You certainly seems to have had a de-cluttering motivation boost of late.
Any chipped mugs you don't think you could sell for charity, smash them up and use in the bottom of plant pots for drainage.MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

Nice idea about the chipped mugs MRN - will keep that one in mind.
Seem to be on a roll at the moment regarding de-cluttering BUT and its a big one - very busy weekend coming up and not sure how much I'll be able to get done - will have to see what I can do in the week.
....................
In other news:
Added up the grocery spend for the month so far and we are doing ok, £123.05! Got a feeling that we will have about £50 towards the OP this month as there are some bits we have run out of that I will have to get this weekend.
Pretty sure I'm going to be over the petrol budget this month again too - looks like I'll have to permanently adjust that to £70pm now.
Charity meeting later, so this tea will be quick and easy - its a had slog at the moment - we need some stuff doing for the MOT on the charity van and we need to discuss putting our workers on reduced hours over the winter (due to seasonal work - mainly gardening for elderly and disabled people) and we are going through our funding applications for submission - don't know how we are going to fit all that into 1.5 hours - might be a long one!
Tonight's tea is Chicken Stir Fry - got lots of bits of veggies after clearing the fridge out yesterday.
Happy Monday everyone!

If you don't mind me asking, what sort of car do you have MCI and roughly how many miles a month? My wife and I just started driving lessons and it would be good to get some idea re. what we'll need to budget for when we buy a car.0 -

Hi edinburgher...no problem
I've got a Fiesta 1.3 (54 plate). I do roughly 80-90 miles a week. I get approx 280-300 miles to a tank (approx £55ish round here). I don't regularly do motorway driving - I work 8-9 miles away from home.
Hope this helps.

£5.23 spent at Mr T last night - had run out of redbush tea bags (as I try very hard not to have caffine) and picked up some sweet chilli sausages for wednesday's tea! (i know I said I wasn't going to buy any meat - but need something substantial for Wed tea as its our one night in together in the week - yes I am making excuses. Groceries now at £128.28.
Raised a claim for my Thomson cashback through £co - we shall see. £5ish confirmed for next payment run - so that will be going into the OP pot once it arrives.
Counted up the 50ps again and we are at £21.50, so another £20 to add to the pot for OPing.
Looking set for about £225 this month so far.

That's a nice OP. I wish financial adviser would hurry up and tell us what the next best mortgage deal is... we're stuck on £11.95 max per month at the moment and I'm getting frustrated, especially reading all these Op spectacular threads!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0 -

Thanks MRN...hope they get back to you soon, I can understand your frustration - we only came off fixed rate in June and thats really helped me to up the payments.

Found £5 worth of Mr T savings stamps in my bag! :jThat means that I have a full card now (and eligable for my £1 extra in December).
Done a timer swap with my colleage at work - I now have a manual, easy to operate, sufficient for what I need it for timer and he now has the digial timer for his fish tank. Saved both of us shelling out for new ones!
Charity meeting was ok last night and I mean ok - was absolutely shattered and wasn't in the mood for silly people. Didn't sleep very well either, got up at 4.30am and did some charity work - didn't bother going back to bed!
Cat hasn't gone through the new cat flap yet on her own! Had to shove her through on Sunday so it registered the microchip and then helped her through last night - but she wouldn't come back through so in the end had to open the door as it was pouring with rain. She's everso nervous of it and keeps growling and spitting when I put her near it. She is curious though as she does go up to it - sniff it then walk away.
Tonights tea is rissotto of some description, got some little prawns and some bacon, so will raid whats left in the fridge and see what I can concoct - hence Fridgeraiders Rissotto.
Hope everyone's Tuesday is going ok.
