  • Hi MRN

I will look into preloved too - thanks for the tip.

  • Haven't managed to get my OP done yet and realistically I think it will be Friday before I get down the town - short staffed again!

NSD yesterday and we ended up having the tuna last night as DH wanted to go out on Monday - I did offer to cook, but he insisted!

Anyway, beef stew tonight (not in slow cooker as I forgot to take the beef out yesterday to prepare ready for the this morning - will do better next time).

Found the beef at the bottom of the freezer and I've got loads of mushrooms and onions to use up so just going to throw it all in a pot with some herbs, wine and stock and see what we come up with. Part baked bread from the cupboard will go nicely.

Had a general tidy round last night and got rid of alot of rubbish and sorted my catering stuff I had downstairs into boxes to go back in the loft (will be easier to find everything). Nothing crossed off the list yet - but getting a hold of my regular chores so can make a good start on Saturday morning.

    Hope everyone is ok.

Beef stew was good - DH helped me to prepare it as we are both not feeling very well at the moment.

Just made the shopping list for this coming week and really there is not much on it just a few fresh bits - off to Herr A tonght for phase one.

Got a charity meeting later that I really am NOT looking forward to - especially as I fell like carp and my eyes are really stinging.

Tonights tea is butternut squash & ham rissotto - needs to be something fairly quick and easy as won't be back from the meeting till about 9.30pm.

Setting DH the task of finding us a cheap sunny holiday for a week in December while I'm out tonight - we feel that the only time we get to spend quality time together is when we are away. Been looking and should be able to get full board in Tenerife for about £550 each. This is budgeted for, so doesn't affect OPs.

    Friday tomorrow! Yay!

Hope you're feeling better soon - nothing worse than being busy while feeling awful.

I really feel like hibernation might be a good idea today.

Thanks megela...feel a bit better today, not as congested.

Charity meeting wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be and managed to get a half decent nights sleep for a change.

    Hi MCI,

Cheers MRN...at lease this weekend won't be quite as hectic as last weekend...might get a few minutes rest if I'm lucky :rotfl:!

I've still got another two hectic weekends with 4 mouths to feed and lots of guest bedding/towels washing to do... then I get a free weekend, unfortunatley MrMRN will be away that weekend so it'll be quality time alone!

Just made my OP, so the figures are thus:

    Outstanding Mortgage: £13,148 (approx)
    Daily Interest Rate: £1.44
    Mortgage Free Date: Mar 2019
    Mortgage Free Age: 46

That means I have knocked another year off! :j

Nothing planned for tea tonight as we had decided to go out (again!) - but it depends on how we both feel - can always rustle something up from the freezer.

Saturdays tea is Haddock, Prawns, Pesto, Cherry Toms and Creme Fraiche - with rice.

£7.50 spent in Herr A last night - need to do a check on the grocery spends so far this month - but I know they are on the low side as haven't bought any meat or fish!

Really pleased I started a diary on here - it has really given me focus.

    Decluttering and cleaning starts tomorrow!

Hope everyone has a faboulous weekend!

  • Enjoy your Autumn Clean MCI! Although I realise it's the time after it's all done that's most enjoyable!!!
