Hi MCI,
No wonder your meals always sound so delicious if you cater for peoples events!
I much prefer baking, just finished a 'pair of boobs' birthday cake for BIL. Although daugher aged 9 helped. Dread to think what she'll say at school tomorrow!!
She's now decided she wants to make a Moshi Monster cake for her cousin next week. What have I started?

Hi megela
I like baking too, but usually muffins and biscuits - once made a cake in the shape of a dart board for a friends birthday, but that is really as far as I've pushed that.
the buffets are a bit of a very occassional side line and usually for family and firends, so don't tend to make alot of money out of it - but I enjoy it and it keeps me out of trouble. I find it really challenging coming up with different ideas and catering for peoples likes and special diets - alot more interesting than my day job really.
Not much to report today other than Natwest have still not processed any of my deposits (though the direct debits are still coming out). Got to wait and see if my wages go in tomorrow - its a deadly combination of RBS bank will be sending the wages and Natwest receiving the wages.
Watch this space.
Lamb chop dinner with roast veggies and roast potatoes. Maybe some sweet chilli and mint glaze on the chops.

Looks like the wages have gone in, though I'm not counting my chickens till tomorrow as my 50ps deposit was showing on Monday and then disappeared again.
Still no sign of Fridays deposits, will have to go to the bank next week if they haven't gone in by Monday.
Everything is so manic at the moment haven't got much time for catching up.
Tonights tea is anything I can find in the freezer that I can cook from frozen! Fish Cakes or Cottage Pie then!

Very quick update as taking Dad to the hospital this afternoon and I am 'working' my lunch to make up some time.
- Quidco paid me £3.00.
- Natwest deposits have finally gone in today - so don't have to go to the bank to sort!
- Holiday booked for less than 3 weeks time (half price 5 star, half board holiday costing £650 each - which usually what we pay for 3 star B&B) cashback has been tracked (£15)
- Insurance sorted (with cashback)
To do:
- Airport parking (deliberating, on or off airport car parking)
- Clean house
- Last of the shopping for the wedding buffet
- Menu for children's buffet
- Finish a grant application for charity
- Fundraiser on Thursday
Its absolutely barmy at the moment, so don't know if I'll get much of a chance to come on this week.
But I hope everyone had good weekends and I'll catch up with the diaries when I get chance.

Sneaky update.
- Travel Insurance cashback has tracked.
- Charity grant application is done
- As much shopping as possible timetabled in for tonight
Won't have time to do OP this week, so looks like it will be mon/tues next week.
Tonights tea, might be fish if I'm feeling well enough - if not DH can have portion of cottage pie I have left in the freezer.

Some buffet shopping done - a bit more to do tonight - getting there now.
Still got to sort out stuff for the fundraisier and its proving difficult doing it remotely - got someone on the fround covering the charity office this week, but as much use as a chocolate teapot for organisation - just can't be everywhere at once.
Anyway, £3.00 cashback received and money transferred from savings account has cleared my bank account - so DH has had his money back for the holiday.
Airport car parking booked - went with the more expensive on airport parking, but our return flight is late back and we really don't want the faff of waiting for transfer buses etc...
Holiday money ordered too, but in my haste forgot to go through quidco! The exchange rate is quite good at the moment for euros so got 610 euros for £504.
DH did tea last night and went and fetched a pie and some veggies and cooked that - was absolutely shattered.
Tonight is sweet chilli sausages with mash (with a bit of sweet potato mixed in) onion & leek gravy and some veggies of some description.
Seems to be more spending than saving at the moment - but not much normal grocery shopping to get and we are mainly going to eat from the freezer until we go away.

Almost finished the buffet shopping now - just bread and a spanish onion to fetch tomorrow.
Day off work tomorrow so I can get all the cooking done in advance.
Not sure what tonights tea will be as it looks like DH is going out and I'm going to the fundraiser straight from work. There is a good chance I won't get home till about 10pm - so we will see how it goes. (Can always have toast and marmite or if they are doing burgers at the school fair, I might have one of them!)
Nothing really on the MSE front apart from all this shopping at Tesco has built my points up quite a bit.
Won't be on for a few days as its going to be manic, so I would like to wish you all a very good weekend and I'l catch up with everyone next week.

Hope the buffet goes well MCI.
I've got a Moshi Monster (whatever that is) cake to do for my nieces 8th birthday on saturday. My 9year old is helping so hopefully she'll have a better idea!!
Have a good weekend.
