Hope the fundraiser goes well
Hi Dawn
We didn't do too badly, raised £170 to date. Its not bad for us as we are a small local charity.
Unfortunately, the handbrake cable has snapped on the charity van - so guess where the money will be going:eek:
Not too many cakes left over - a few scones and a bit of quiche (but they make good additions to lunchboxes so no waste there!). Cooked 30 breakfasts on Saturday too!
Absolutely shattered after the weekend - didn't sleep much either - so running on fumes at the moment.
Got to fend for myself tonight foodwise as DH is going out with his work mates. Might just make myself some pasta with a HM tomato and mushroom sauce and lots of parmesan. And then maybe I can sit down and relax tonight with a glass of wine.
Its our 2nd Wedding Anniversary tomorrow and we are going out for a thai meal - its MSE really as Mum & Dad gave us some money and it will practically pay for the meal.:)
Its our 17th Anniversary of being together on Saturday - so I will be cooking a nice meal at home.
And to top off the week of celebrations - my little cat is 10 years old on Friday!:rotfl:
Hope everyone is well and had good weekends.

Hi MCI,
Well done on raising that much money, but what a shame that it'll have to be spend mending the van rather than going where you most need it.
Have a lovely meal out for your anniversary, and relax for a change!!

Well done on the fundraising.
Hope you have a nice celebratory meal.0 -
Thanks megela and uzubairu...
Had a really nice meal at a little bistro we hadn't tries before, but was really nice (decided against thai in this heat).
And it really did turn out to be money saving as the bill came to £50.75 - Mum & Dad gave us £50 for our anniversary, so with taxis and a tip we dined out (with a bottle of wine) for just under £15 of our own money! The restaurant had a set menu on yesterday for just £12.95 for two courses and the desserts were £3.95 each - the wine was expensive - but no matter - bargain I say!
It was nice to spend some time together for a change. DH is off work tomorrow and Friday and then Friday next week too (in addition to the bank holidays) - so won't have to get much in the way of sandwich stuff for next week.
Have totally ignored my grocery spends as I am now scared to add them up - but there is enough left in the bank to do a decent OP (which I will probably do on Friday as not at work next week).
Grocery budget starts again tomorrow and I am determined to keep it under budget - shouldn't be too difficult with all the stuff in the freezer - but desperately need some more fish & chicken as we haven't got much fish and we are totally out of chicken.
Got to run the freezer down again as buffet for friends sons wedding is a the beginning of july and I will need the space - so a good incentive to eat waht we've got.
Going to have the last of the fish tonight (Tuna Steaks) with a HM Orange Sauce and Roasted Vegetable Cous Cous.

The good news is that the charity van only cost £20 and a bird box to fix!!! So all back up and running now - phew!
Not much to report today, its payday and its time to sweep the bank account for the OP I'm going to make tomorrow. Looks like its going to be in the region of £190. Will be more next month as the fixed rate ends on 30 June.
Grocery budget starts again today, and got to get back on track.
Going to treat us to a frozen pizza for tea tonight from Herr A as I don't know what time DH is going to be back from his travels out and about today - so going to make a big salad and have the pizza on standby for when he gets back.

Hi MCI,
I'm so pleased you managed to get the van fixed for just £20, at least you have the majority of your brilliant fundraising to go where it's needed. I was so disappointed for you last week.
Well done on the fab OP - my end of month sweep was just £20!

Hi Megela - we are lucky that our Treasurer has a son who is a mechanic and fortunately the bolt had just fell out the hand brake - so just an hour to take it apart and put it back together right. Thanks for being concerned - it certainly is a hard slog sometimes raising money when you are a local charity.
Just two hours to go and then I'm finished at work for a week!!! Can't wait to have some time off - but I know next week is going to be full - but I'm not at work, so that helps.
Did my OP today of £190, so figures will now be looking like this:
Outstanding Balance: £14623.75
Daily Interest Rate: £2.68
Mortgage Free Date: Sept 2019
Had a bit of spend in Boots - moisturiser on 3 for 2 and extra points, so won't need to buy any for ages and my boots points total is £13.50 at the moment.
Salmon, Pasta and Broccolli tonight - nice and simple, will hopefully get a chance to relax tonight and then on Mon/Tues before the onslaught of the rest of the week (Driving for the charity one day - moving inherited stuff another).
I will be popping on during the week...but hope you all have a cracking long weekend.

Got a few things done this morning:
Charity Stuff:
Minutes of last charity meeting
Downloaded Basic PAYE tools off HMRC web-site (for chairity)
A long overdue memo...
Packaged up some printer cartridges for a trial run to see if the money will come through to us from a company recyling catridges...I know I seem skeptical, but thought better try it first before advertising to the masses.
Own stuff:
Filled in my driving licence change of name form - annoyed with myself as I've lost the photos - will continue to look around the house this week and if I can't find them, I'll have to get some more done next week!
Done the change of names for my car breakdown card and for the Alumini at my old university - only 2 years late, but better late than never.
Now I need to:
Make a couple of calls
Have a shower
Go to an appointment
Post letters and parcel
Sort out van hire for moving inheritede items on Friday
Off to sort that lot now....
Hope everyone had great weekends.

Back at work today. Had an absolutely manic week last week and this week isn't goinf to be much better.
Exhibiting at the NEC this week, so will be out of the office most of the week. (Off to set up in about 1/2 an hour).
Had some b******ds clone my debit card - had a call from the bank yesterday - its all sorted and I'm going to get the money back, but its just the thought of it all. They had about £500 in all. Good job I've got another current account with money in it, as I have to wait for a new card now. God only knows where they had the details from, but its such a common thing now - its madness.
Not much money saving been going on, but hoping that things will get back to normal soon.
Concerted effort to eat at home this week. Spag Bol tonight.
Moved inherited stuff on Friday - it was a really long day - I now have a grandfather clock in my dining room! Still alot to sort out as I have all his personal paperwork which has got to be sorted and disposed of by burning! (Don't want someone stealing his identity). Got rid of some bills etc... yesterday - he had kept every invoice for all the plants etc...he had bought since 1985 - there were loads - he must have spent thousands over the years, but that was his first love - his garden and growing things.
It was really sad and I got a bit upset as we left...got to pop back to get a chest of drawers sometime this week.
Didn't have a chance to do any shopping last week, so got to go on the way home tonight - fortunately, we only need fresh stuff, so will pop to Mr T tonight and get that sorted.
Hope everyone is ok.
Hope to catch up on the diaries when I get home.
