Phew! Quackered after my day at the exhibition! Only two more days to go...Didn't get back till 7.30 last night, so couldn't even contemplate putting the the computer on.

Got my money back from the bank to cover the fraud - I am really impressed how quickly they have sorted stuff out and I should get my new card tomorrow or Thursday.

Just submitted my gas and electric readings online and I am in credit with both, so thats all good.

Not much else to report really.

Going to catch up with some diaries now.

    Hi all

Finally back in the office after the exhibition, I am absolutely shot!

Its not just the long days, its tackling more traffic than I'm used to. Anyway, will be ok now its all over - just got the follow up to do now.

Had a word with the boss about expenses and I'm going to get my food back and he says to put in some receipts for petrol - got one for £20 and will stick another £15 in tonight to make it up to £35 total for petrol.

Had a letter from the mortgage provider about fixed rate coming to an end - new mortgage payment is about £142? pcm another £26 less - which I will orf course add to the overpayment so that comes off the capital - will have to twiddle with the spreadsheet again on Monday so I know exactly where we stand now.

Only spent £8 in Herr A last night and fairly small shop required at Mr T tonight.

Still waiting for the legal documents to come through from the fraud department at the bank. If they don't arrive in today's post, I'' have to get back onto them.

Got to catch up with diaries - but will do that later.

    Hope everyone well.

£5.32 quidco payment just received - every little helps towards the next OP!

Besides - best I write it down here or I will forget!

Redone my spreadsheet in line with the mortgage reduction - so my standard OP will be £47 - just to make it up to my regular payment, plus what I have already been overpaying and this is from next month....so no repayment charges now, so can really get some payments in.

Had stashed £250 of my bonus in my other current account to overpay when the fixed rate came to an end - so next months OP will be looking very healthy!

Send off the legal docs for the fraud investigation today as they finally arrived on Saturday.

Need to get other stuff done at home too - washing and sorting out the dining room so we can at least move - inherited stuff is still all over the place and still got a boot full of paperwork - need to get that out as its costing me petrol, but got to make room to put it.

Got a receipt for £15 of petrol at the weekend, so can put in for my exhibition expenses - proabably be a couple of weeks before I get it back though.

Went to the chinese supermarket on Saturday to get some stuff for the wedding buffet (plus napkins, paper table cloths and plastic forks and spoons as they are miles cheaper there). Spent quite a bit, but it was worth it - stocked up on sweet chilli sauce and other nice flavourings.

Tonights tea will be Fish with veggies and tomato & basil Sauce and rice or cous cous - quick and simple - still really tired from last week.

    Hope everyone is ok.

Not much to report today except, we were naughty again last night and went out for tea - I was so brassed off when I got home I couldn't cope with cooking, washing up or anything, so DH suggested we go for a cheap and cheerful - so thats what we did.

We are going to have the fish this evening - definately.

Really must tackle houswork and washing when I get in tonight - I really need to get up the allotment, but I think the house takes priority as it really is still up to its neck with inherited stuff.

Was looking round the dining room this morning and seeing what could be decluttered - I really am not afforded the luxury of time, but I must make an effort...quick tidy up today before we watch the match is going to be the order of the day.

Managed to get a few things tidied up and cooked tea before the match last night. No alcohol for me last night either :-)

Pork chops, with fennel seeds, lemon and garlic for tea tonight with some roast pots and veggies.

Hope to get some more tidying up done tonight too.

    Not much else to report.

Hi MCI, i've just been catching up on your thread after being away for a while, I can see you have been as busy as ever and as usual I've done the wrong thing reading your thread while I'm hungry :rotfl:
Had a letter from the Halifax yesterday saying that as my mortgage payment has gone down, my mortgage protection insurance has also gone down. I think it is by £3-4, so that can go with the saving from the washer / dryer insurance to make an extra £10/12 towards the OP every month.

This seems really good service MCI. Were the halifax pro-active about this e.g. did they contact you 'out the blue' about your MPI going down or did you ask them? I know we'd all like to think this good service was the norm but it's suprising how many on here you see say that they have just realised they are still paying MPI on an old/much higher mortgage balance.

Sorry to hear about the fraud on your account and glad it's all sorted too. You seemed impressed with how it was handled, was that the Halifax too?

Had a letter from the washer/dryer insurance people saying that my direct debit had been cancelled..this is such a shock considering I was the one who cancelled it!!!! I had also sent them a letter telling them I was cancelling the insurance!

Lol, I hate it when they do that

... until next Tuesday - when we will be going out for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary! Then we are having an extra special meal in on the 2nd June as we will have been together 17 years that day.

Sounds like you had both a lovely and a MSE night :j I knew you and your OH had been together a long time but hadn't realised that you were fairly newly married, blimey, you really were putting him through a long test drive before you made and honest man of him :rotfl:

    Hey ATT

    Thanks for stopping by.

The Halifax always contact me when my mortgage payments go down and adjust the MPI accordingly - awaiting another letter now when the payment drops again next month. It might be the product I'm on - I know its an old one - but it does seem very good service to me.

Natwest are my C/A provider and I was very impressed with the speedy way they dealt with it all - paperwork was perhaps a bit slow - but it was probably the post as stuff was sent out first class.

:rotfl:at putting DH through the long test drive - it was him! I never pushed the issue - I would have got married years ago, but he wasn't sure (think it was more to do with his own self confidence really - more scared of the wedding day than marriage, if you get my meaning?).

Anyway, I waited 13 years for a proposal and 2 more years before we got married, but to be fair, the day was worth the wait and we are very happy.

    Quick update for today.

Counted the 50ps last night and I have nearly £40!!! So £20 towards this months OP and then another £20 for next month when I top it up to reach the target.

Also got some of my charity expenses back for the strimmer we got on Saturday - so good on that front.

Need to check grocery spends again, as I'm a bit behind with putting the receipts in my book - but think I've done ok this month - I had even forgotten that I only have one weeks shopping left to get as we get paid next week - woohoo!

So, assuming that I HAVE kept the grocery spends down - the OP will be looking like this:

    £40 - regular OP
£60 - grocery budget regularly not used
    £20 - grocery underspend
£20 - extra money from DH
£10 - washer dryer insurance money and MPI reduction
    £20 - 50ps
    £5 - quidco
    £250 - stashed bonus
£50 - difference between old morgage payment and new

    = £475

    No bad!

Sorry I've been AWOL. Just busy (as usual).

Not that much to report really apart from money keep coming out my Natwest account and no money has gone back in (paid charity expenses and 50ps in on Friday). Lets see if my wages go in on Thursday...fingers crossed. Glad I've got other accounts.

Trying to use freezer and fridge stuff up so I've got room for Buffet Stuff.

Had Bacon and Mushroom Carbonara last night and we are having Burgers, Wedges and Salad tonight.

Got another buffet too as doing a small childrens party for my cousin - mates rates, but good advertising anyway! Unfortunately, it is the week after the wedding buffet I'm doing - no rest for the wicked.

Had a really rotton week last week, with work, parents and charity stuff - but hopefully things are starting to improve.

    Hope everyone is OK.
