DH thinks it would cause less friction between us if I am away...
The plan is taking shape - I have confirmed kitchen fitting date...so we know what we are aiming for now.
I have heard from my godfather and he says it's ok to come - just waiting for ok on the dates (just sent them to him 10 mins ago) and then I will book the flights (he's given me some tips to get a direct flight - and it costs no more, so all good there).
Quite a bit of gardening done yesterday before the rain came down and DH managed to get the lawns done.
Some tidying, filing and shredding done on Saturday in between moving plants backwards and forwards. Not much in the way of chores done, but will finish those tonight when I get home - then more tidying and shredding while DH is down his Mum's finishing off some panelling for her.
Not a lot on the money front with the exception that I know I will be spending a bit in the next few weeks....
Chicken wraps and garlic bread planned for tea - nice and easy.
Wish this rain would stop...

The rain has stopped today (for now)...and I am booked to go to Greece for a week (first week of August)! - it will soon be here.
DH and I have never been apart for that long and I know I will miss him loads...but he is right that I wouldn't be a happy bunny with all the dust and mess of the re-wire.
I have ordered my carry on case and a micro-fibre beach towel - both courtesy of some Amaz0n vouchers I had for my birthday.
Last night when I was tidying up, I found the N3xt voucher my MIL gave me for my birthday and I have got one off DH too - so new clothes will be coming courtesy of both of those.
The cost of the flights has come from my dividend - need to get saving for my spends.
Chores finished last night and a few more bits of paper sorted and more in the recycling.
Bit of Charity Bid writing to be done at lunchtime.
Going to Mum's tonight (weather pending) to sort out her front garden - got some plants; so need to have a weeding, chopping and planting session - failing that, it's back to the study for more sorting.
Sorted a couple of items out for my brother - small electric shredder, tub of lemon pepper seasoning and his stapler that I had borrowed. At least that's a few things out the way. These will be going up there whatever the weather!
£co of £3 requested for BACS transfer and I got cashback on my travel insurance...couple more 50ps in the penguin.
Paella using bits and pieces of fish and seafood on the menu for tonight.
Hope everyone is well. Better get on with some work now...

Ohh a nice week away, should be good! At least the weather is bound to be better than we have here.
During the rain the other day we flooded at the front and the water went up to damp course, luckily not over!

Oh dear, I hadn't realised I'd been AWOL for quite so long.
Quick update:
- Euros purchased before the crash...
- Another patch dug in the garden and peas and squash planted.
- Small shops done to round off the month
- Charity fundraising last Saturday
- Went to see one of my old school mates perform a live acoustic session - was good to see him after nearly 30 years - good night had by all and a treat after all the running about earlier in the day.
- Tile browsing on Sunday (still confused - going to wait till the kitchen is in to decide)
£co £3 arrived and transferred.
This week is a busy one:
- Charity wages and re-potting of plants ready for next weekends' fundraiser (Mon)
- Weekend chores to be finished. (Mon)
- Item to be purchased on behalf of Mum and dropped off. (Mon)
- Move plants (they came back to mine after Saturday's plant stall). (Tues)
- More prep for next weekend's fundraiser. (Tues/Wed)
- Back in the study, sorting and shredding. (Wed)
- Another patch to be dug in the garden and broccoli and beetroot to be planted. (Thurs)
- Finish charity bid I am working on; minutes of last meeting to be completed. (Lunchtimes)
- Return one of the tops I've bought (too big). (Tues/Wed lunchtime)
- Buy a birthday present for my brother. (Tues/Wed lunchtime).
Need to stay calm and focused and get through the list.
Hope everyone is well.

Glad to see you're still going at it, MCI. And those plants you're potting on should make the charity a good whack now, thats a lovely thing to do.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

They couldn't find anything wrong with the car. Put it on the code checker. Found the errors, checked them out and couldn't find anything wrong. £36 to check it out. Service due in about 6-7 weeks time, so I'll get them to check everything then.
It was a real worry as I need my car...

I have avoided saying anything about the EU exit up until now. But I know that it is having an immediate effect on our business at work right now. We buy alot from China and the Chinese are very worried and are already talking about putting prices up - it's worrying for us too - increased prices could mean we loose business or make less profit.
I will be keeping a close eye on it all as this may be the opportunity I need to make some changes. Until then, I will continue to come to work and earn pennies to pay the bills.
We have decided that once the major jobs have been done this year that we will be saving steadily towards our next projects (probably in 2-3 years time), but in the meantime throwing as much at the mortgage as we can without damaging our lifestyle too much. This will give us better options when our fixed rate is up in 4 years time.
Oh, and by the way - we celebrated one year in our new house on Monday - how quick has that gone??!!
Wages and potting done (though there may be a bit more potting to do before the end of the week). Mum sorted and plants moved. Chores still to be done and I am hoping to get out at lunchtime to take the top back and get my brother's birthday stuff sorted (hope it stops raining).
Will need to move some plants again tonight (on the way home) and shredding / tidying in the study on the cards for tonight (which will involve some charity prep aswell as I have things to wrap for our prize every time tombola and lucky dips - will just get them out of the way).
Although I enjoy the fundraising events, it's all a really hard slog and the end of June till the middle of July is really tough (especially as I am the only one who can drive!) So I will be glad when it's over and I have some time to concentrate solely on the house.
Nice easy tea of sausage and mash planned for tonight.
Meal plan for the next 3 weeks to be done based on normal cooking and then another 4 weeks to be planned based on cooking in our make shift kitchen.
Happy hump day everyone.

Raining here now too!
Sorry to hear your Chinese contacts are considering putting prices up - I don't think there's any extra costs currently though, and won't be for a long time ... China's got its own problems of course, just like we have ours!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
