Quidco payment is due on Friday, so all good there.

Purchased the airport car parking with cash back today.

Well on target with the groceries. At about £125/£175 now and only have the shopping at the weekend to get - my cousin and her hubby are coming round for tea on Saturday - but even with a little extra expense there I'm going to be well in for the target this month.

Going shopping for holiday stuff later - don't need too much, but we will see what the big shopping centre does to me - don't really like shopping, but feel in need of retail therapy.

Another 3 x 50ps in Penguin Pot making £14.00/£50.00 target.

One more fundraiser before rest! Trouble is, need to start organising more to keep the extra money coming in.

Got interviewed by the police today about the car that went into the back of me in march and drove off.

I didn't think it would be any good persuing it further as the insurance company has given up, but the police do as the person as previous.

Still think its best to write off my £100 excess as I think it will probably get thrown out by the CPS. (Plus it seems that they were uninsured!!!) I've given my statement and they will now be sent a summons - its not just the money its the principal of the thing (thought the money would be nice towards the OP).

On the MSE front have had an e-mail from quidco that the payment has been made - will probably be Tues when it hits my bank - it will be there in time for OP.

Got to make a shopping list for later - going to cook properly tonight. I haven't hardly seen DH all week due to fundraisers, meetings, me being out, him being out and I think a nice home cooked meal and a glass of wine is just what the doctor ordered.

Quick update as I don't think I'm going to have much to add due to breaking up on Friday for 2 weeks.

    Quidco payment is in!!!! Woohoo!!!!

Another 2 x 50ps earmarked for the Penguin Pot making £15.00/£50.00.

Grocery spend is on target for a full £150 OP to be made when we get back from Turkey - didn't think I would get there this month, but its all come good.

Just got to buy a few things for holiday and get the currency sorted and then everything is done - just got to pack.

House is tidy - had a good go at it last weekend and just two loads of washing to go through before we fly off on Monday.

Couple of things to tidy up on the charity side, but nothing too major, just a couple of letters and a memo.

Work wise, getting there - quite simply, what can be done, will be done and the rest will just have to wait.

Roll on Friday, when the holiday can begin in earnest.

Bit sad today - 25 years since Grandad died.

    Hi all

Back from holidays now - it was great - planning the next one now!!!

Going to be making an overpayment in the next couple of days, it will be £150 this month too. I think September's will be less, but we will wait and see what happens.

Mealplans for the rest of the month done and the shopping has been sorted too. Where is this year going to, it seems to absolutely flying by.

Going to catch up with all the diaries shortly, seems ages since I've been on here.

Trying to decide what to do with my clubcard vouchers.

Usually, I save some for Christmas goodies and put the rest into Airmiles.

I am thinking that maybe I ought to take advantage of the double up and stock up on cat food? If I decide to go the cat food route I will only be able to get enough for next month as I'm really restricted on space.

Got a few days before shopping, so need to work out what I'm doing.

Also, need a new ironing board which I'm going to order and pick up Friday with the shopping. 2 x birthday cards needed too...

Made my 6th overpayment at lunchtime...it really is very satisfying.

Ordered ironing board, but it won't be available till Saturday - should have ordered it before 12pm! Cashback has tracked £1.06!

Couldn't resist the Subway today as had no bread in the house after had made DH's sandwiches - but collected points and a 50p, so not all bad (thats what I keep telling myself).

Have been looking at the OS board and think I need to make a plan for putting some more veggies in my little set of planters for the winter months.

Had to do alot of cleaning last night as there was a strange smell and we could not locate it! (Still haven't dound out what is was/is). So our Wednesday night in was pretty much ruined. The upsides are: a) alot of cleaning got done that really needed to be done and b) DH isn't going out tonight as he thinks it best to give town a wide bearth this week and so we can have our steak dinner tonight.

I wonder if the 'thrill' of OP will wear off soon? Estimated mortage outstanding is now £17483 with a daily interest rate of £3.20.

    Off to update signature....

Have spent roughly £165 on food this month so far, so should easily be under budget this month - being away for a week of it really helped...

Got loads of work to do in the spare room this weekend as we have friends coming over from Germany August Bank Holiday weekend and have a computer and a cluttered desk to get rid of before they come.

Just had a call from Mr T Direct regarding the ironing board - its been discontinued! So refund coming and need to re-order - what a pain. It shouldn't really be on there if they have no stock!

DH insisted upon pulling up half the floor board in the dining room trying to find out what was making the smell - but there was nothing there - so getting some deoderiser and see how we go. I couldn't smell anything this morning - I think he's imagining it now.

Lol... this is starting to sound like a Famous Five book... "Five and the Mysterious Smell"... I hope it either goes away or you figure out what it is... and that it isn't too messy to clean up!!

    lol...it certainly does...

DH thinks the cat has brought something in and its crawled under something and died. We have now looked everywhere possible and there is nothing...even MIL has been down to try any reassure DH that the smell is NOT a 'dead' smell.

Took everything off the unit in the dining room on Saturday and cleaned that too - there were no spillages or anything, just some dust!

I hope he settles down soon.

This week is going to be spending rather than saving as we need a new bookcase for the spare room once the desk has gone.

Grocery shop was frugal this week, only spent £16. If this WAS a Famous Five book, I would have stocked up on tinned fish, ham and carnation milk...lol.

Had a quick count up of the Penguin Pot this morning and to my surprise there was £25.50 in there!!!!

Thats £25 towards next OP, which now is looking like it will be £125! Didn't even think I'd get to £100 this month!

Went shopping for new bookcase and ended up buying other stuff too - £144 altogether - but at this stage DH has paid...BUT he owes me £100 for the breakdown cover, so I suppose he now owes me £30ish if we offset the two.

Be really glad to get the desk and old PC out of the spare room and get a little organised for a change. We ended up buying doors for the bookcase which I didn't originally plan on, but they hide the clutter! (I know you shouldn't think of it like that - but there are times when you just shove stuff in the cupboard to tidy up).

Bought a new rug for the front room too...!

    To Do List:
    - Washing
    - Funding application for the charity I volunteer for
    - move desk and PC
    - clear out drawers in coffee table in front room

Think thats enough to get on with - weekend? what weekend?
