Awww thanks Smlsave.
Might just buy him a journal or something like that?? Or maybe a book on origami! I know he won't be able to do it, but it would be a laugh watching him try. Not sure still.
Will definately enjoy the meal, its at one of our favourite italian restaurants! mmmmmm!!!!!
Cotton, you are right, that a tricky one to buy for a bloke...Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016

Hi all, just been catching up with some of your threads...you have all been so busy...
Well its been a bit of a hectic week off, thats why I haven't been online to post. When I'm at home, I don't tend to switch the computer on unless I really need to and then I stay on for as short a time as possible - probably best as I spend all day everyday at work glued to the computer screen.
Been quite a frugal week really, mainly had lunches at home (sat in the sunshine in the garden).
Our anniversary meal was paid almost in full by the cash my Mum & Dad gave us and DH paid for lunch on our actual anniversary.
Got some stuff done, but could do with another week off to finish what I started...never mind at least I'm a little further forward in the great declutter.
MSE wise, haven't really done anything apart from not spending and not really going anywhere in the car as such - really need to see if I can stretch the petrol this month especially as its a five week month!!!!!
Got a couple of 50ps to put in the Penguin Pot today, but really can't remember if I put one in last week? - going to have to count it to find out.
Didn't get to town in the week, so going to sort out my OP tomorrow lunchtime. It will be £150.
Still waiting for 1st voucher off VO to arrive and some indication when I might get my first quidco payout, but still got plenty of time this month for them to help out with next OP.
Holiday in July is now paid for, just got to sort the insurance now - my job for this week.
Got the final Gas & Elec bills from Npower too - Elec NIL, Gas £112ish (can't remember exactly) - we have decided the money is coming out of the joint account so it doesn't affect anything else like OPs.
Busy week ahead at work, home and on the charity front, so will update more later.Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016

Didn't get down the town at lunchtime as it was p***ing down - and now as lunchtime draws to a close it has stopped raining - typical - got to go down tomorrow - got to check out poundland for hanging baskets for our next fundraiser and I need to get that OP made. (Will probabaly need lunch tomorrow too).
Got my voucher from VO in the post - so thats £10 towards this weeks shop at Mr T's.
Been in a meeting most of the morning and my head is really hurting, lunch hasn't helped much - going to throw some water down my neck and see if that helps.Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016

Hi all
Made my 4th OP today of £150...still get really excited about this and then get a bit deflated as we have to start all over again!!!
Got travel insurance today with cashback - so thats another thing crossed off the list. Paid final gas bill too, for which the money will come out of our joint account next time I draw some out.
DH gave me the money for my subway today and so I have a 'free' 50p to go in Penguin Pot - got to check my e-mails to see if I won anything on the competition too.
Headache finally went about 7pm last night - just still got backache - all in my kidney area - had it for about a week now - still throwing the water down my neck and trying to keep off the cups of tea - had just one today.
So, to build next OP we have the following so far:
£20 regular payment from DH
£20 regular payment from me
£8.35 left over from money I took out of the joint account for the holiday and the insurance, so that can go towards the OP rather than being deposited back in the account
TOTAL SO FAR: £48.35
Going to check how we are doing on the grocery budget later. With the edition of the Mr T voucher from VO, that should help as its a five week month.
Still not sure I'm going to make it up to £150 this month, but we will just have to see how it goes, nearly halfway to our target for this year which I think we will easily reach if not exceed.
Need to check that Penguin Pot too for the total so I can keep a tally on here (which I find much easier).

I got DH comedy tickets for our paper anniversary and he got me an origami duplicate of our wedding outfits framed. It's out cotton anniversary this year - now that's a difficult one!
Buy whatever and wrap it in a cheap cotton tea-towel/hanky/sheet;)Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Building up to the weekend - the office is very relaxed today - got quite alot to do though!!!
On the MFW front, just keeping the shopping bill down as much as possible and really need to add up how much I've spent so far - hoping that this week will be less than £5 as I have the £10 VO voucher for Mr T and only spent £2.22 in Herr A last night.
Don't think there will be any unexpected outings out this weekend that will cost money as a few of our friends are away this weekend.
DH is off work next week and is working down his mum's getting the garden straight now the extension for his dad is almost completed - so MIL will be feeding him at lunchtime!!!
Still need to count up that Penguin to see what I've saved - think it will be £7-8????
DH hasn't been feeling very well the last couple of days, I hope he hasn't got a bug as I don't want him to be poorly and I really don't want it either - far too much to do to be ill.
Not much else to report really. Hope everyone has a good weekend. x.Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016

Thanks Onecoincloser - getting there slowly...
MFW news for the weekend - Mr T shop came to 75p!!!! (used voucher), so total shop this week is £2.95 so far - realised that we ran out of T-Rolls this morning, so got to get some on the way home, but weekly shop should still come in under £5!! Wooohooo.
Went to the local fruit farm on Saturday to get some plants for our fundraiser next weekend (will get some money back for these) and I've got 3 x assorted herb patio pots and 4 x assorted salad patio pots to plant up - probabaly be on Tues evening. Collected Nectar points on compost too...
Bought a couple more lettuce and spring onion plugs for us too and in the pouring rain yesterday, I cut back the two bushes that are stopping light getting to my veg and herb planters, and planted my veggies (plus my tiny spring onions I have grown from seed). Had to buy a new courgette plant too as one of mine had died - it got damaged in the high winds and hasn't recovered - the other has a fair bit of 'fruit' coming on it and I fed them on Friday, so happy days there. Wasn't happy getting wet at all, but couldn't see any time this week when I'd have a chance to sort this! Oh well, dry now!
Got a chance of another buffet in July (2 days before we go to Turkey!), should hopefully be getting an e-mail off them today with what they want so we can price up. It will be a bit of a rush, but extra cash in the OP pot if we get to do it - local too.
Another 2 x 50ps in Penguin Pot yesterday - still don't know how much I've got - must make a point of sorting that put later as its annoying me now - got to be around the £8-10 mark???
DH is off work this week, so only got my own lunch to sort out! Hummous on toast today. Going to stick to simple stuff, then it doesn't take any time in the morning to sort out.
Hope everyone is ok and I wish you all a good week....Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016
