Council house rant....

I agree more since the conservatives have been in has started to be done to crack down on benefits fraud (mainly due to the poor state of the country) but that doesn't mean enough is being done.
Things should be alot more harsh. If you are capable of earning a living for yourself you should be forced to do so.
And regardless of what actions are in place to deal with these people - ity doesn't mean it !!!!es people off any less!
Of course it plsses people of.... It should. But just have a look at this thread. It's now been a seamless transition from the allocation of social housing to benefit fraud, and I'll bet you never even noticed. Isn't that just stigmatisation?0 -

Depends on the definition of abuse. Parts of the system are so lax that what most would consider wrong are deemed to be acceptable.0 -
Not really no.
Considering the point of the topic was disgust at people getting social housing who others deemed not entitled to it. I figure that ties in nicely with people who get benefits that people don't think they are entitled to.
Surely they are both topics centred around similar feelings and situations?0 -

Sounds a lot like Social Housing = Benefit Fraud to me. I notice it hasn't migrated towards Income Embelishment = Mortgage Fraud. Funny that.0 -

Like i said earlier - you clearly have a chip on your shoulder.
I haven't said anything of the sort.
If you cannot see why a discussion about wrongful claiming of social housing and wrongeful claiming of benefits are similar, then there really is no point continueing as you are clearly lost for sense.0 -
And once again your attempting to use an example of one person doing something wrong to justify another doing something wrong. That isn't a good comeback to the point. Your simply saying "yes, these people do screw the system...so do some other people though!".0

Of course, it'll be ME with the chip. lol.0 -

To be honest, that is between the bank, and the borrower. Apart from the last bunch of idiots choosing to use taxpayers maney to bail out the banks, I for one couldn't care less.
When it comes to government money being used directly to subsidise housing for those that (in my opinion) do not deserve it, I feel the need to comment.0 -

No. What I'm saying, in language so clear that a 3 year old could understand, is that we regard the same wrong in very different ways depending on the individuals circumstances.
Benefit fraud = scum
Mortgage fraud = Well, they are trying to do the best for their family/just want a bigger place/it's only a white lie/if the lender gets the money, who cares... etc etc etc.0
