ginvzt, you may be able to save them. Get them away from where the sun rises and into the shade by a wall pref and/or spray with a cold water mist

Fay - I have just sown my sweet pea seeds in a cold greenhouse, they will be fine, in fact some people sow them in December. I sow my Nasturtiams directly into the ground in early May. Your Marigolds will need protection from frost once they have germinated.

Do you find that your nasturtiams go wild in the ground though? We planted some in the last house and they were like trifids, they nearly took over our little court yard garden. I was going to put them into pots this year to try and stop this happening!

I am at work now, so can't do anything about that. The 'greenhouse' is on the side of the patio, and if the fog that was all the way on the motorway reached the garden ,there will be no sun. Anyway, it is near the wall, so it shouldn't get too much sun in the morning anyway. Will see what I am left with when I get home tonight...

Mine are in the plastic greenhouse. I have no space in the house at the moment as I am redecorating, and you can see what happened to me in the previous post. Oh well, I have plenty of seeds left! That is if I am not pleasantly surprised and they are all ok when I get home!

minus 1.5 here last night and frost covering everywhere, I wish I had put bubble wrap on top of the little polycarb greenhouses but I`ll have a look later and see, it will be interesting as all the lids have a layer of frost. It was baking here at the back yesterday and I put several winter lettuces into raised beds as they are so hardy but I did cover them with fleece so they will be fine. I see that the sun is already on 2 of those beds so the fleece will def help

The patio grow will be investigated later, I can`t see in because of the fleece but it stands against a n wall so have fingers crossed. I have toms in there, amongst other things and they were looking so well. Nice and sturdy with first leaves appearing

temperature is rising very fast at the back and is now +5, yesterday was 17 and non stop sun. Dh said it was hot enough there for shorts. I pottered in the back all day, lovely and am expecting more today. Imagine a sunken garden with tiered retaining walls, s facing, surrounded by apple orchards. Had to have blinds down yesterday as the sun is still low and inside was getting too hot.

all my marigolds are hardening off in the patio grow at night and outside in the day. I would put yours in the plastic greehouse but place a layer of fleece on the seedlings as we have more cold to come

edit, make sure they don`t get cooked if the sun shines

I only sowed my toms and peppers last week some of the toms are just starting to peep through no sign of peppers yet would it be too late to sow some more now ? :o
I have started lettuce and its come through will be pricking it out later and potting on into individual cells. :)

Have decided also to do some flowers this year not at the expence of the vege though in a different area and have got dahlias coming through, hollyhocks still waiting for the asters two types, delphiniums, stock and evening primrose to show their little leaves yet ! Will be sowing some marigold, trailing lobelia, petunias and bussielizzis at some point today I think that's if its not too early me and ds want to do a sale in late May and sell some to raise a little bit of money as cash is so tight at the moment  might plant some up in containers and sell like that thought about using the morrisons buckets as I get them free and they would look nice all potted up :D Anyone else tried this ?

We had quite a lost of frost last night the soil is really frozen this morning was going to sow some Raddish in the raised beds yesterday as the packet does say to sow outside from Feb !!! Would it be ok to sow them with the frosts still about, also wanted to sow some Winter destiny lettuce as this too says to sow outside now but a little unsure if it would germinate with the frosts any ideas :o
    Many Thanks :):):)

Jani - seeds can take 7 to 14 days to show through so I wouldn't panic yet but of course you can sow more seeds if you like - I always do more than I need as there is always someone I can swap/pass onto.;)
