  • Good Morning Everyone

:j:beer:Many Happy Returns to Smokey & Halight - hope you both have fantastic days.:j

Had a lovely day in London yesterday, could have spent a fortune in Borough Market but resisted and just got some needed Balsamic Vinegar and smoke Prapika. Chinese was very nice as usual.

Today have woken up with a cold :(. Will be busy today so hopefully will sweat it out. My family & I gave my dsis a night in a hotel in london tonight with tickets for the comedy club. As soon as she leaves we are off round her house secretly to give it a good declutter and tidy. She is always saying she plans to do it but it never happens so we are going to give her a head start. Can't wait to see her face when she gets home tomorrow.

No idea what is for dinner at the moment as don't know when I will be home. Am off down the bakers in a mo to stock up on rolls for everyone for lunch. Also need some binbags for the great declutter :rotfl:

Anyway, before all that another cup of coffee is needed..........have a good day all.x

Mummysaver - I did see your comment on facebook yesterday:T :T

  • Good morning from Lincolnshire

    Weather quite promising today.

Took DH to work, got myself a free latte from McD with my loyalty card, and promptly spilt it all over the car while driving home - great start to the day. Have cleaned it up, and put lemons in there to try and take up the smell, but any suggestions would be great. DH isn't going to be impressed!!

My DS4 was at his brother's house for a sleepover, so not sure what is happening this morning - as we usually have a morning together uptown and round the CS in our area.

Talking of CS, do you think some of them have got very expensive these days. 1 I went into yesterday was selling a couple of rolls of of wallpaper border for £1 each, that were shop marked at 99p each. They were also selling the new Knitting magazine (the one with the dvd, set of knitting needles and 2 balls of yarn), which has been advertised on TV for 99p - CS selling for £2 with the knitting needles and yarn missing!! (k)needles(s) to say I left without purchasing.

May go down allotment today, while on own (will save me spending more money). Otherwise I do want to get some knitting wool as I am making a crochet baby blanket with different squares. BIG NEWS - I'm going to be a grandma for 1st time in Sept, my DIL is 12 weeks today ( I can finally tell the news, It's been killing me to keep quiet for the past 5 weeks), so I'm knitting and crocheting again.

Did a big shop yesterday - 1st time for 4 weeks, as money has been very tight, still only have £75 for 4 adults & 1 child, & cats/dogs but much better that £45 I have been trying to cope on. Have meal planned for the week, and stocked up on some bigger items I had run out of.

    Enjoy your Saturday. Gillian

Appointment went well with Mental health team, it was an assessment to decide what kind of help I need and I'll be having Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - just need to wait for letter for appointment to come through.

Just wanted to say that my 20 year old son is just about to finish his course of CBT and although he was a wreck when he started (been off work for almost a year) with 1 one appointment to go, he is looking at job vacancies and feeling that he can cope with life once again. Hope your appointment comes soon.

  • Good Morning everyone ,well I'm glad we did the country park yesterday rather than today as its raining and quite damp at the moment I managed to get most of my washing dry so Ironing is on the agenda today. My DGS Ben is coming around today to use my wallpaper steamer to strip my spare room walls off for me .It hasn't been decorated in there since I moved here fifteen and a half years ago.The paper is o.k. but it seems quite dark in there ,and as my pal is coming next week for a couple of days she said she will bung some anaglypta up for me then we can emulsion it in something bright a cheery.
Bitsy I too though Helen BC didn't have much of a part but Colin Firth was excellent along with Geoffery Rush, hopfully they will scoop up some 'Oscars' at the awards this year.
taplady Thank you so much for the leaflets you sent. I will show my friend on Tuesday when she gets here It looks like there is lots for us to see and do when we visit in April and I looking forward to it,(only five weeks to got till my holiday)
Happy Birthday to both Halight & smokybabe and anyone else who is celebrating today.Spring is on its way at last I think I saw some daffs in the greengrocers yesterday and treated myself to some .They are so pretty sitting in a vase in my conservatory I always put my flowers out there as they last longer and I can see them from the kitchen sink when I'm washing up.They make a nice big yellow splash .
Ham salad for dinner tonight and soup and a sandwich for lunch.I will cook DGS Ben sausage egg and chips for his lunch as he is a growing 15 year old who can eat for England and thats his favourite nosh at Grannie's house as they rarely eat chips at home,A little spoiling smooths the paths of wallpaper stripping I find .
Right I'm off to rummage for some breakfast
Have a great day everyone whatever you maybe doing
    Cheers JackieO xx
