    Morning All

Sounds like we all enjoyed the spring weather yesterday, it does give a much needed boost. We are forecast rain later so the plan is to go to town this morning and get on with the cleaning this afternoon. It was lovely to come into a lovely clean sitting room this morning. I have put a few things away so it is easier to keep on top off.
Not sure what is for lunch today but having sausage, mash and broccoli/cauliflower cheese for tea. DH is on nights so need to send him off with a proper meal inside.

Have a lovely day everyone whatever your plans (((hugs)))) to those who need ar want one.

  • Morning All,

We overslept this morning, and I fell asleep on the sofa last night again, to be wakened in a crumpled heap by DH at midnight when he was going to bed :o

Just had my porridge, I have lots to do today, I now understand what the Forth Road Bridge gang thing is all about, I feel like that's exactly what's going on here and I just don't want to do it :(

Sausage rolls to make for dinner, DS2's friend is coming after school and they are out at Cubs tonight - its some sort of fun night thing so he's hypre about that. I am contemplating making them brownies to take with them, we'll see how my day goes ;)

    Hugs all round.

He got away from work at 2 yesterday so we were home early, we decided to indulge in a little 'fun', only for DS to pop in to tell us all about his weekend away skiing!

:rotfl::rotfl: just when you thought that the kids moving out meant you had more time to yourselves ;)

Sounds a bit daft, but it's just dawned on me that he's got to come out :o mildly panicky about that :rotfl: think I just spent so long praying for him to stay in and grow and be healthy that I kind of forgot that he's got to come out yet!!!!!! It's painful but clearly not that painful or some of us wouldn't be so stupid as to do it all again :rotfl: Oh and sometimes the drugs DO work ;)

Not as nice here today, really breezy and no sunshine :( Still it's not raining ATM so thankful for small mercies :o
Not sure what's for tea tonight as H is working a little bit late tonight.
He's got an interview for his boss's job  and interviews are next week lasting 2 hours! He's done well to be selected so will have to see how things pan out.

Not much OS going on here. Done NO cleaning this week, just don't have the time when I have kids here full time. Roll on next week when it's all back to normal :o

Loulou - Hugs for you honey. You sound really low. Am here if you ever need to chat xx

Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.

Thanks all. I know I will be fine, I'm quite tough, but it just hadn't really dawned on me until yesterday :o :rotfl: Just got my confirmation of my maternity leave too so it's all the more real!

    Morning all,

Yesterday was a glourious day here too :T, got my towels washed and dried, today had gone back to more rain and mist. Got a small wash on the go, will hang indoors.

I am going to hoover through and tidy kitchen this morning.I think I might do chicken curry for tea tonight, either that or salmon, but we have another sleepover happening, and I can stretch the curry further.

Went to see dad yesterday, and he was on top form, was cracking jokes and laughing, I think its cos he knew he could see mum today. The care home annoyed me though, they had got him dressed in a pair or womens 3/4 length trousers, which were just under his knees, with socks pulled up, and they let him walk around like that the whole morning :(

Will ring mum later on,and try to get together and have a chat, and see where we go from here.

Lou, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, big hugs to you xxx

Camelot, must be so hard for you with your dd so far away, xxxx

Have good days all, off to shower and wake sleeping beauties !!
  • Labour in childbirth is exactly that ,you work at giving birth to your precious little bundle.I remember when my youngest DD was in labour with her first (who is 18 next month ) Her Dad and I went to visit her in hospital in Gravesend and when she saw me she burst into tears saying 'Mum you never told me it was going to be this hard work'
'Of course I didn't, but what's in there has got to come out and the harder you work at it the quicker it will arrive' I replied.
It didn't put her off though as she went on to have Ben (15) Jack(11) Henry (9) and Michael (6 ) and she lost a little one the year before she had Michael. So all the hard work was worth the effort. When you hold that new little person in your arms you will be totally hooked for life.I look at my youngest who is 44 this year and I can still see that walloping 10lbs 8 ozs baby thatt arrived yelling her head off all those years ago.She is still my baby bless her even though she is 4" taller than me now.
Well gang I had a smashing day yesterday. My son-in-law and I and four of the grandsons all went up to London for the day as one of the boys birthday treats Jack wanted to see around his beloved Chelsea Football club so we took him on the tour of the stadium and dressing rooms ect.It was really good and I'm not much of a footie fan but we all enjoyed it and none more so the Jack.He got to run through the players tunnel and see all the behind scenes bits where the players get change and the press boxes and the whole of the inside of the club buildings .If you have and sons or grandsons I highly reccommend the trip.
On the way up driving up to Blackheath to park the car up before getting the train into London we passed on her way down to Maidstone with all her entourage and police outriders HM Queen who was going to Maidstone barracks to invest the 5000th Gurka soldier in the regiment,So the boys were hanging out of the window very excited. Then on the tube at Victoria my son-in-law spotted a cricketer called Darren Gough which quite made his day so we all had a very interesting day out.
Whe we got home DD had just arrived home from work and she said right we're off to Pizza Hut for a meal which the boys did get thrilled about as they don't often get the chance to eat out in a place like that as DD isn't very keen ,but it was a lovely meal I I eventually got home around 10.00.p.m. exhausted but having had a great day.Plus I had clocked up almost 11k steps on my pedometer which for me was excellent. The weather was lovely and warm yesterday which made a nice change .This afternoon I am taking the boys to the local country park for the afternoon as it seems to be fairly sunny at the moment .
I should really do some ironing but blow it an afternoon with the boys by the river sounds much more fun Iroing can wait till tonight .Hope everyone is enjoying the half term today is the last day then life will get back to normal once more.
    Take care everyone

Oh, Jackie, that sounds like such a perfect day. Many happy memories for you there.

Redruby, glad you found your dad in better spirits. It does get easier after a while. I worked in nursing homes for many years and it is often harder for the families than for the elderly resident.

everyone told me how bad labour would be, including one friend who descibed it as trying to poo a pineapple:rotfl: but i never acually thought it would be that bad, but then i was having twins and was stopped, then induced and over the course of 6 days given 3 epidurals then not given one (or gas and air ) when i acually needed it because they didn't believe me i needed 2 push, we acually considered sueing our hospital afterwards as i was treated appalingly but we decided that in the end we were all ok and thats what that matter :) on the plus side i also have a lovely labour story aswell with my youngest, i wasn't even sure i was in labour it was all very calm and mild from 3am then went to hospital at 7.15 and he was here at 7.45 :)

my advice would be if you need drugs take them but i found staying calm made it alot easier, don't stock up too much on nappies afterall it's not like shops are going to run out (also own brand are always better imo) don't buy all the same type of bottles and milk if your using them as babys can be fussy and it takes abit of work to relise what they like, and don't buy a bottlewarmer it's the biggest waste of money, oh and my DS3 never fitted in newborn at all i had to send oh home to get some bigger babygrows cause only 1 in my hospital bag acually fitted, it left strange after me 2 wee 4lb 15 boys lol

i'm, having a lazy day all i've really done is feed and dress the kids do school run and make a pot of soup i really need to get in with some cleaning
