Hi, this is the Daily Thread for thurs 24th Feb. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the
Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

oooh vindaloo BB - you are brave! I've never tried one that hot.
Morning all - hoping for another bright sunny day here. Yesterday was so lovely. Planning to go for a long walk with DD so sunshine would be good!
Load of towels to do today, also bed to change.
Plan to buy some fish - maybe salmon as I love cajun salmon. Have potatoes for baking and loads of broccoli so that will be an easy tea.
Younger dog has been rubbing her head on the hall rug and has rubbed the hair off her nose. Not a very fetching look! Both are regularly treated with Frontline, otherwise I would think flea allergy. She's a dog that gets allergies every summer - looks like it is may be getting worse as she gets older as vet predicted (she's 7 - dog, not vet!)....will take her to vet & see.
Got a new bookcase so will take great pleasure in filling it up. The other one is double stacked and also piles of books in bedroom.
Enjoy your Fri folks - the weekend is in sight!

    Morning Everyone else :D

Today is work... but I am hoping they will let me leave early (I have done my contracted hours by 1.30pm) which means I can go with DH to pick up DS and take him to his Dad's... I've really missed this this week :D

I bought MIL some Flowers and SIL some Chocolates for a thank you for looking after DS this week. I got the largest box of chocolates half price in the valintines sections... so it was in my budget but she get's twice as much :D

I would normally make Chocolates, but thought it's not often I have a week off and the phone bills come in £10 under budget!

Anyway, Dinner tonight is leftover (freezer) Nutty Chicken Curry with Rice which is my favourate!

Hope everyone has a great Friday x

Hubby's home for the day, we need to wait in for a delivery of wood today so hubby can finish off the decking, also have a delivery from Tesco due.
He got away from work at 2 yesterday so we were home early, we decided to indulge in a little 'fun', only for DS to pop in to tell us all about his weekend away skiing!
Today's plans include making copious amounts of tea for hubby while he slaves in the garden, clearing the ground ready for the decking.
    Have a good day everyone

Good morning Bargainbird, Wmf, Halight, JulieGeorgiana and everyone who follows,
Well it is greyish but warm here today.
Got washing to do and hopefully it will be line fine. Yesterday was brilliant for drying and it was a delight hanging it out. The sun was warm, sky was blue and the birds were singing loudly :)
Will make bean goulash if I go to the shops today. Yesterday's dinner turned out to be pasta bake with a frozen tomato & mozarella mix from the freezer - it was yum and DH ate seconds :)
Having visitors this weekend, so need to try and get the place in better order.
Just wrapping myself round a cuppa atm, then shower and up 'n at this neverending housework & planning.
    Going out to lunch. Mmmmmm:)
If I don't get round to bean goulash making we will have freezer surprise tonight.
Hugs to all those who want or need them, Happy Friday, Silver x

    Morning all

Dry, bright and warmer this morning. After yesterday's morning post of "wet, grey and chilly" - it turned out to be a glorious day, sun shone, warm etc, made me out to be a liar!

DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock, after as HH put's it "some fun". Then I went for a run, felt much more comfortable this morning, just feels like I've turned a corner with it, will just have to wait and see how I do next week and what the scales say later this morning.

Engineer came to my washing machine, and he's made the leak somewhat better, but it's still dripping, so will be ringing them later to ask for connection money back and I'll get a plumber in to do a "proper" job as obviously their engineers can't!

Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket potato, b/beans/veg. Have to decide what we're having tonight as menu plan hasn't got that far, but I have planned for next week, so will be going to the bank, scales and then doing a food shop.

My sis and her children were due to arrive at mum's last night, and my bro and SIL at my sister's tomorrow, so hoping we can all get together at some point over the weekend.

DW packed and on timer to come on after the WM (with a bowl under the pipes to catch the drips!!) has finished - hadn't done any washing again since Sunday when we discovered it was leaking, so now need to work my way through mount washmore!

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Good Morning,
Yet another early start for me:D this time courtesy of young pup and Jaffacat who ganged up on me at 7a.m. they have been fed & let out & have now gone back to bed:mad: whilst I sit here bleary eyed & fuzzy headed trying to declutter a coffee.
Still having problems with the internet so will have to phone talk talk at some point & see if they can sort it out. Also got a work focus interview in town today so will take the opportunity to have a look round the market & pick up some bits for DS's birthday which is on Monday. Have to say that knowing my baby is going to be 16 does not make me feel any better:eek:
Have not been able to read yesterdays thread yet as I can only read 1st pages ifI try to move on I get disconnected:( so will just send hugs, spoons & hi5's to all in need and will hopefully catch up with everyone later.

Take care, have a good day x

    Morning All ,

Camelot - your poor DD I bet you'll be glad to have her home!!
Candy - I tried to PM you re FB but your inbox is full you popular girl :)
Loulou - Hope you're feeling a bit better today x

Slept a lot better last night as baby decided to behave and not kick me every time I got comfortable! Turned 27 weeks yesterday and got updates through in my FB stating that I've now entered my third trimester. Sounds a bit daft, but it's just dawned on me that he's got to come out :o mildly panicky about that :rotfl: think I just spent so long praying for him to stay in and grow and be healthy that I kind of forgot that he's got to come out yet!!!!!! Pardon my language but - F**************************************ck! :rotfl:

Got to pop to town in my lunch break as I seem to be running out of pants! Accused DH of stealing them this morning to be met with a face like a smacked behind and "what would I want with your pants?". Seems someone left his sense of humour in bed this morning :rotfl:Gonna have a scout around for bargains as well - guessing one can never have enough nappies etc.

OS will consist of me making Spanish chicken for our tea tonight and that's about it.

Have a lovely day, OS or otherwise xx

    Morning all!
Grey and cold here. WM on with first load.
Not much going on here day. Just bits n pieces to do. making chicken curry later for dh work lunch tomorrow and some for the freezer.

Had a nice day yday with friend whom I haven't seen for ages, she's here on a flying visit for just a few days, so will maybe see her today too.
DD1 got a MoshiMonsters thing a few weeks ago and it had 3 days online membership with it ( to do extra games n stuuf) so she has been hogging the pc all day yesterday, today and tomorrow while her dad's at work.
