  • I have been really sidetracked by the Mr T DTD promotion and have gone over my budget  In fact, I haven't been keeping track as I have just been randomly spending on stock up items, or things I will need later on in the year and getting DTD back so spending again.......a happy, slightly demented circle :o:o:o I might hold off stating a budget for next month as I want to take full advantage of the promotion :)

I have gone over budget and will need at least milk before the end of next Tuesday. I have tried to keep it under control though. I have got a lot of meal bases in the freezer for the coming month. I have been making a lot of tumbledown meals. I have decided to join others and meal plan for the month (4 weeks) to keep some variety in the meals. We were getting very predictable. I am also going to do more interesting meals and try to get my fussy DS1 just to get used to it. So he has grumbled though shepherds pie, chicken and sweetcorn pie and sticky carrots. He hates veg but I'm fed up of having boring food because of it.

i spent one of mine today, spent £50.74 had a voucher for £50.16 so well stocked up now, suprising how much you get for your money when you go back to careful planning, :D

i know espcially after seeing the wee tiny dtd shops we got it's shockingly over priced, i got 2 trolleys full yesterday, in the end i got toilet roll/dishwasher tablets and tinned stuff just to use it up, but i don't liek not giving them any money so i went over my voucher on purpose, £10 the first time (was a £25 voucher) and £15 the 2nd (was a £45)

if i bought branded stuff we could only afford to eat 4days a week :rotfl:

Have spent £36.07 in Te$co yesterday so taking total up to £157.13 for the month so far with £92.87 left and a week to go.:)

Annually am on £555.94 which is on the right side of the budget. :T

Will need some fruit & salad stuff tomorrow as we seem to be getting through it very quickly at the moment and will have to nip to the butchers for some bacon and eggs. Also need to get something for Monday as I am at a teaching hospital all day having tests done and after the food they offered me last time I will take my own - much safer

Made some celeriac soup today. DH loves it but myself I am not that keen, will stick to ordinary celery next time. :(

Even though have gone for annual target I aim to try and reduce by a small amount for April so -
£240 for April please. THANK YOU.

Hi Mrs M - could you put me down for £45 a week please although I'm struggling to keep to it with the price rises recently.

Will be shopping tomorrow and have written a list that seems to be mostly fresh stuff and a few store cupboard bits and pieces.

I have done a meal plan for the coming week and am trying some new recipes to try to jazz up my diet a bit as I'm getting bored with the same foods - I'm not a brilliant cook though so it may be interesting!

Will report in tomorrow with the combined spends from the greengrocers and Mr T.

OK final buy for the month I think. Mr T delivery as I'm still carless. DH with TA this weekend so won't be eating much. Not declaring yet just in case. But still quite pleased.

    Morning all

Just an update of the spends, have gone way over budget this month, have taken my eye off the ball as it were, and had several times when I've only meal planned for only part of a week, this seems to throw everything out and I'm then spending an odd bit here and there extra, will endeavour to plan properly in April. The shocking increase in food prices certainly isn't helping though. Have menu planned for part (?) of next week already, and have what I need so will hopefully not need to spend any more money.

Will declare later just in case.

Have a good weekend everyone, hugs to those that need/want them.
