Good morning all!
I've been reading but not posted on here for ages.
Mrs M - can you put me down for £200 for April please?
It's a 5 weeker for me! Finished March 10.90 over:o BUT my I was £46.90 UNDER budget for my first quarter!:j
I have a new strategy which seems to be working. The first shop of the month I do a bit of a bulk buy ( usually at C0$tco) then I just buy fresh stuff on a weekly basis. I've found Li£ to be the cheapest for the F&V I buy ( I know Aldi is good too, but the super 6 isnt always what i need IFYSWIM)
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -

Took some work to set up but it looks as if it may work.
Hiya Tigerfeet, after 3 days on and off planning I think I may have done my first MONTHLY meal plan!! Found in quite hard - I have enought trouble trying to think what to cook for a week. Have done weekly menus for lunches and main meals, have put a list on cupboard door, and made a chart of all main meat/fish ingredients and tinned fish/meat ingredients with a column to say how many meals I need this ingredient for so can buy meat etc in bulk at beginning of month. It will be interesting to see if it works out but will probably have to tweak as I go along. Still the basic template is there so should be less time consuming next month.:)

Just added up my spends to update my sig
I hadn't realised I hadn't added on some of my top-up shops from the last week or 2, my budget is well and truly blown. Could easily have been a lot worse though, I think all I still need to buy for the budget-blowing house warming is a bag of mini sausage rolls and some fresh bread. And pay day is Monday so new month starts then!
On the plus side we have quite a lot of frozen & cupboard stuff in stock so I might try to only buy fruit, veg and fridge stuff next month to balance it out a bit. Will ponder that after the party!
The GC is definitely having an impact though - in the old days I would have filled the freezer to overflowing with ready-made party food and spent £££££, but I was actually over careful and didn't spend the full value of the voucher I was using up! Seems wasteful but by that stage I couldn't face leaving the checkout queue to get more stuff! Thanks so much for all the hints :T :T :T :T - got some good party food ideas from here especially cat_smith and tigerfeet2006. There is also a fresh plum cake waiting for me after work thanks Hippeechiq for the recipe link and also destroyerofdebt2011 for the other ideas to use up my plums. I never thought I liked plums but it turns out I do :rotfl:
Tonight and tomorrow daytime I will mostly be cooking0 -
Mrs M
I'm not starting my April GC till 4th April but can you put me down for £180 for April please - am aiming for £45 per week reducing from the £50 per week budget that I've done so far. I'll declare my March actual spend on 3rd April.
Thanks

Oh Hippeechiq, they are bathbungs! You must be so stressed with it all. :wall: I hope DD is coping and the decision hasn't triggered a deep episode. You keep up the fight girl, I know you can and will do it. :kisses3: Keep strong and don't forget we're here for you when you need us. :grouphug:
Op probably in a fortnight or so btw.
Brilliant news for you sistercas, :T although I know what you mean about feeling for the other person. The powers that be are doing their level best to take us into a dog eat dog world again.
Thanks for the nudge MrsMcCawber, please put Spiggle down for £240 for Apirl, thank you. :A
Got to run as need to go into the office for a few hours. See you all later.
Take care,
