Fab news about your job Sistercas - so pleased for you :j

    I've had a bl00dy awful day :(

Some of you may know that my DD suffers with an awful debilitating mental illness and that we had to go to an ESA assessment last week - well, between the NON Mental Healthcare Professional who assessed her and the pen pusher at At0$ who hasn't even met her, they've deemed that she's fit for work!!

I feel like I've been winded, I'm totally totally, gutted. It's just one battle after another, and I'm exhausted.

I now have to start the appeal process !!!!!!! So, depending on whether or not I can lift my spirits, I may be absent for a few days. Although will probably update my signature without posting.

Spigs - I'm not sure when your op is hun, but it must be any time soon, so just in case I'm not around, I wish you all the very best, and send positive thoughts :grouphug:

Hippeechiq, I'm so sorry to hear that. I had severe depression a few years back, and the thought of going to work set me off into spasmy type attack things, so I may have some vagueish idea of where you're at. All I can say, is that your daughter is very lucky to have such a caring mother as you. I know you'll do the best by your daughter, and if the appeals don't work, you'll be there for her. I think the whole system of mental-illness-judging needs to change. I was sent back to work waaaaay too early, but luckily have managed to get better as time's gone on, with the help of some good friends (mum not so helpful, but that's a whole other story:mad:).

What does your daughter do when she's working? If she absolutely has to go back can they offer her anything more manageable? They will/should want to find something appropriate, otherwise they'll miss out too. It's just so wrong that people who need to be off work have to go back, yet there are others who scrounge off the govt and have absolutely no comeuppance. It's completely sh*t.

Prayers for you and your daughter.

Hippee, (((hugs))) to you and your DD. I have had dealings with that load of $%^&* when they cut my Industrial Injuries Benefit. I have to admit I was not strong enough to fight it. I hope you manage to find the strength to fight this, you know whaere to come if you need to vent, there are plenty of people who will lend a cyber shoulder. Would it help to post on the Benefits and Tax Credits board for advice on appealing? Can your local CAB help you with the appeals process?

    I have had a NSD today :D

    Hi all

Hippeechiq - do appeal and don't give up the battle. It's hard and stressful but you and DD hang in there. Just because a 'disability' isn't immediately obvious, people think there's nothing wrong. My son is severely partially sighted and it took us 7 months of appeals and hard struggle (with the help of Action for Blind People) before he got it. They had to give it all back-dated though, serves the b***s right!

There were times when I would be on the phone to A for BP in tears saying that I couldn't go on with the letters and phonecalls and feeling people were looking down on us - but you have to stay strong.

I'm thinking of you and DD xxx :grouphug:

Anyway, enough of my ranting... update on spends -
    HBargs - £9.99
    L**l - £17.20
    Grocer - £4.69
Indian market - £3.45 (Loads!!! of herbs/spices and a bottle of rose water)

March budget blown! Off to update sig x
