Morning all. Just came on to declare £391/375 for march, and I'd like to be put down for £375 again for April please.
Many thanks to all that run the thread, and looking forward to a moneysaving summer!

slbhill not sure about the 'get what you pay for' as I've not tried the Argos version. Does it do from 0.5mm to 15mm? Cleaning I think is a pain on all of them.

It says maximum slice 15mm but I can't find any mention of minimum slice! I wonder if that means it doesn't do very thin slices?

Penny I'm sure your probably have - but have you checked the fuse?

Same think happened to me last year, and I was beside myself because I'd been shopping the previous day and my freezer was chocka......turned out the fuse had gone in the socket that the freezer was plugged into (not the plug itself)

I'll second that! When I was in my teens we had the same thing happen with a microwave - big bang, sparks, smoke, all very exciting. Bought a new one the same day, plugged it into the same socket and that wouldn't work either. Different socket however... old and new ones both worked. :o :rotfl: So much worse with a freezer though - all that food :(

Oh Penny, that is a real pain. Sending you hugs and positive thoughts.

I'm off out in to the sunshine to potter in the garden.

    See you all later,

    Hello all,
I've been lurking for sometime and tried to join a while ago. I fell off the wagon when my little girl arrived and really need to get back on!
I shall be joining the april gc. I'm starting my meal plan and think I shall aim for £200 per month - does this seem realistic? Its for 2 adults and a toddler (I won't include any nappies etc) and a fussy cat.
I really want to cut down on the amount of crisps and chocolate we buy (Mainly for hubbies packed lunch everyday). I'm quite good at baking but don't have lots of time, can anyone recommend some easy cakes/biscuits? And any ideas for packed lunches other than sandwiches or pasta salads?!
I cook from scratch and on the days I work I have something prepared or ready home made from the freezer, but I still feel I could plan better to cut costs. I think I'll have to have a look at some new recipes for some inspiration too!
Sorry for the ramble, hope its ok to join?

Thanks everyone for the lentil loaf suggestions. I don't know how I missed the one in the index - doh! Will pick up ingredients this weekend and let you know how it turns out.:T

Small spend on bread and marg this morning so still on target to come in under budget if I can have a good weekend. Fingers crossed.
