Hippiechiq - Sorry to hear of yet more problems you are experiencing with those that know!!! What they know is beyond me and at the end of the day its you and your daughter that will suffer. So unfair at times.

Sistercas - glad to hear your job is safe, what a relief for you. Our neighbour loses their job todayand up to yet has had no luck with a new one.

WillgetOrganised - Hope you do really well with your budget targets when set and can pay off your debt earlier than anticipated. Good luck anyway.

Roger ramjet - was just wondering how you have been getting on with your challenge?

Will post tonight with an update of what I have spent and also decide on Aprils budget .

  • Hi everyone, sorry haven't been on for a while. I have read the last 5 pages to try & catch up but will have to restrict myself to that.

Sistercas - very good news for you on the job front, although as you say not so good for the other person. Hope you enjoyed your takeaway!

Hippeechiq - really don't know what to say to you hun, other than agree that life is so unfair at times & you, more than a lot of people, seem to be having such a continuously hard time of it. Try & find some more energy though & fight the decision. As said previously, try the Disability forum to get guidance on the appeal process. I know from filling them out for my son, that there are apparently key words that they look for in their decision making process. You would think that the very least that they could do though would have people with enough knowledge & experience to actually be responsible for making the decisions though, wouldn't you?! Its absolutely disgraceful that they can say that she is fit for work. Sending you big hugs.

Well, don't quite know how I have done it, but done it, I have! I am very proudly declaring my March spends at £440 something (can't remember what I just changed my signature to!) :jI've had a few spends the last week in M & S on gluten free sausages, Aldi on wine & fruit & a little meat in Lidl.

Mrs M - could you put Long tall sally down again for £450 for April please & lets hope I have another lucky month!

The GC is definitely having an impact though - in the old days I would have filled the freezer to overflowing with ready-made party food and spent £££££, but I was actually over careful and didn't spend the full value of the voucher I was using up! Seems wasteful but by that stage I couldn't face leaving the checkout queue to get more stuff! Thanks so much for all the hints :T :T :T :T - got some good party food ideas from here especially cat_smith and tigerfeet2006. There is also a fresh plum cake waiting for me after work thanks Hippeechiq for the recipe link and also destroyerofdebt2011 for the other ideas to use up my plums. I never thought I liked plums but it turns out I do :rotfl:

Tonight and tomorrow daytime I will mostly be cooking :D

No probs with ideas - DH bought me a recipe book for 'party food'. Have a great weekend.

  • Need to add a £23.00 shop in Icel@nd today. Went to shop in the new Inverness Home B@rgains, but it does not open till tomorrow!!!, so got sidetracked by Icel@and instead!! Then had to get Beer for the OH, so that was another tenner!!!
Pretty much stocked up for at least 2 weeks, they had D@Z for £4, better than 1/2 price at MR T's so that was a good deal. Not done much baking recently, as sidetracked by DTD! Gonna make cornflake cakes with DS now, not baking but best I can mange this afternoon. Have a great weekend all.

Need to add another couple of spends, up to £180.69/£200

Skint now, so fingers crossed will be ok for £200!!

I think a lot of the change has been being strict about putting a meal out, and (a couple too many) takeaways on our respective accounts instead of the joint one... Yeah. We're both very skint now! Need to cut out those takeaways! :rotfl:
