  • Hi everyone. Can i join the mutual supporters club as well please. Its been fantastic looking at all the other forums but its good that we can talk openly about our problems. and it looks like on this one when anyone is feeling down there is always someone to gee us on and keep us all focused. am doing the reclaiming bank charges etc. which took me over a month to pluck up courage to do. Separated from OH last christmas so been a bit of a struggle this year. Got over that and now dealing with my debts. Hopefu;;y the next year will be much better. xxxxx

  • Hi there and welcome aboard Samashed booboo - tell us a little about yourself and your situation and we'll all see how we can help.

How are all the supporters doing now that the countdown to Christmas has begun to hot up? Hope you are all sticking within your budget. -I'm trying to, but just when I thought I had it sorted I realised there were two more pressies to buy!

I had a very abrupt letter from First Direct letting me know that once my fees are repaid they are closing my account down - ahh well that's one less Chrissie card to write.

Still getting the "you have missed a payment" letters from CCs but nothing else and no news from CCCS to say things are being paid.

Go to Enrol there and I think you can then access all the areas of the site.

Got my Powergen bill this morning based on estimates - Rang up with the real meter readings and saved £86 Wey Hey!!!! I'm not changing my Direct Debit until the next bill comes in - so I can get ahead on the winter bill.

End of Term tomorrow - Yippee - I can't wait as we're knee deep in tinsel and baby Jesus' in mangers!

How's the rabbit doing - inside or out?

    Jojo
  • The rabbit is living outdoors!!!!! (but DH has said its too cold on a night for it to sleep outside so I have to bring it in on a night!!!!)

Still not heard anything from crediotors and I received an email saying that my first payment had gone to the creditors with the schedule that Payplan had drawn up. I can't wait to get it all going now it will make me feel so much better. Just hope that they all don't start phoning and sending letter over xmas.

I have saved some money from this month wage for the sale cos little girl is growning really quick so thought I would treat her to some new clothes after xmas for her birthdfay.

    Hope everyone else is ok.
Best go and check the rabbit hasn't eaten my kitchen yet.

  • Aww, happy birthday to your little girls when it comes. My girl is 12 at the beginning of Feb, it was only 2 mins ago she was a toddler, I swear!

I found George at Asda was great for clothes when she was little. Not so easy now as she is aware about "labels" , but sometimes I unpick the "trendy" labels from her old clothes and sew them into " not so trendy" new ones! Shhhhh.....

I got a lovely letter from MBNA today, in a blue envelope with an Xmas stamp on it. It is in all pretty colours, from "the customer assistance dept". Of course it is asking for an immediate payment & is full of very good advice that I wish I had followed before I got into this mess! Cannot pay the payment, will call them tomorrow & tell them so....

    Welcome smashedbooboo!

  • Hi There

Glad to see your repsonse from Halifax,= Sharon - sounds like there are some companies that are a little more sensitive and thoughtful when it comes to dealing with debt - if only more were like this I think we'd all be a little less stressed.

I had a call from First Direct yesterday - rang me on the mobi - Letting me know that once they received my agreement to accept bank charges repayment they would then be closing my account and I should return cheque book, paying in book and ATM card and that I would be hearing from them regarding payment arrangements for my debt. Not a very pleasant call but I suppose it had to come sooner or later.
Nothing much else happening now - Christmas post seems to have slowed up the whole process and still not heard that CCCS has made any payments although they must have contacted CCs as I had a letter from MBNA saying they won't accept offer of payment so something is going on behind the scenes.

Am battling with Thames Water at the moment; they sent me a bill a year ago for over £1200, usuall bill is £120- I queried the amount straight away and everyone agreed that it couldn't be right (that I must have a faulty meter) my payments were set at £20 a month and they promised to investigate. A year later - having heard nothing I got another bill for usual £120 plus arrears fo £1000. Got back on the phone to them and they said they would investigate but that I would have to pay £99 per month while they investigated. This has continued since October - however changing over the back accounts has meant issue of a new bill and yet again they are chasing me for £600 now. I rang again today and this time the guy said it sounded like I must have a faulty meter and that he couldn't see how this bill could be correct - they are going to look in to it again and hopefully refund some of the money paid (fingers crossed it gets sorted this time).

Got a few more mystery shopping trips booked in for first couple of weeks of January - my son won't know what's happening as we very rarely have fast food and take aways and now we're booked for 4 in the space of two weeks!!
Stll free food can't be ignored.

Hope everyone is getting ready for Christmas and a special "Hi :santa2: to new members. How are you all doing?

    Jojo
  • Right apart from the food ashopping tomorrow at Sainsbury's I am officially all Christmased up!

I refuse to buy another pressie - am actually "re-gifting" a couple I've been given already (shameful I know but will save me about £20 and hopefully no one will be any the wiser).

    Jojo
  • Me too, some odds & ends of fresh food to buy & I am done! Woohoo. I have finished work now too, tomorrow will get the house cleaned up & do some bills paperwork, then hopefully take a break from everything!

Roll on Xmas! Happy holidays to all!
