  • There is so much going on in here I'm all confused. Basically I want to know if I am able to claim back "recall" charges. First Direct have written back to me saying that £2872.50 of my claim (£7972.00 in total without interest) is i recall fees and that they will not review them. Are they just fobbing me off? They have offered me £4175.00????

According to this thread on the Consumer Action Group site they will refund these fees when pushed:

    Hope that helps :)

    Hi
I received an initial offer from First Direct saying that they wouldn't review recall charges. Their offer was less than half of my claim. I sent them a LBA saying that I would be proceeding and claiming the recall charges as they were unlawful and disproportionate to costs.I added up the charges and interest using Martins calculator and attached it to my letter.I also used the LBA template letter and said that I would accept an offer of my initial claim amount otherwise I would proceeed and claim the full amount(interest and court fees) Just before 14 days were up I received an offer of the full amount.
Stick to your guns they try it on.
    Glad.
P.S Did a lot of reading of posts on this and the Consumer action website to find out that first direct were trying it on.

Its now the 27th and still nothing through, has anybody else waited over two weeks for their statements???

    Nat

    Help guys? Anybody?

Personally I would not accept there offer, they made me an offer against my claim, which I refused, filed a court claim against them, which they put a defence against, last week i got an offer letter for the full amout of my claim minus 80.00, which they said was out of the six years time frame. It is worth hanging out for the full amount, they will pay up in the end, go for it !!

Thanks for your advice. I've written back telling them I want the full amount or I'll be laying the smacketh down!
  • Hi Nat I waited three weeks for my statements to arrive they came yesterday by courier. Three weeks and two days after sending request to F Direct.

  • Hi everyone,

I have sent two cheques to get copies of my bank statements one to A & L and one to First Direct. One of the cheque have been cashed and one not.

I received a letter from A & L saying they are" sorry to hear from my complaint and looking into it"

Both my letters were sent recorded delivery so I know both companies have my cheques one cashed and one not.

It has been nearly a month. Can anyone advise me on what to do next?

    Thank you very much.
