would it be worth speaking to a benefits advisor, your local council may have one, to work out what you can claim.
Hope OH gets things sorted soon. wonder what the figure was, its too high for most things and if its calories its a low figure for a man.
i thought the figure was 1300 odd but it appears it was 1800 odd ... it wasnt calories it was something in the blood that measure muscle wastedge or something ... really not sure tbh as i wasnt there when he was told but he has asked me to go on wednesday to give him support ... he has high cholesterol as well but i was reading his meds sheets and that is one of the side effects of his anti depressants ... the dr said he wanted to put him on statins but cant until this is sorted as statins can damage the muscles as well0 -

Long time lurker.
I'm sorry to hear your DH's wages are going to drop down even further, my DH had some time off earlier this year and was on SSP .
Will your DH be going on to SSP?
Not wanting to be nosey but if your joint income this year is going to be under £17,000 then you will be able to get some Working Tax Credits. If you are quite a bit under this then you will get a bit more.
SSP is only payable for 28 weeks (which may already be counted in the sick pay he has already received) - once he gets to 28 weeks he can claim Employment Support Allowance.

he will be getting ssp with a bit more as far as i am aware but tbh i am unsure at the moment but will be trying to find out and deal with it all next week... my income is deff below that i think i am on £10k or less a year ( will need to check) as i only work part time at present ... i dont think i can claim anything though cause as far as i am aware i have to be working more than 30 hours or something in order to claim
thanks for the info though ...0 -
well i spent last night visiting a wildlife sanctuary and today at the nature park ... i so love doing things like that .. it good soul food if you know what i mean ( and free yay) i genuinely cant think of how my life would be right now if i didnt have places like that to go to visit and do things at .... today we strimmed and cut the grass it was great to catch up with the people i worked with while on placement at uni ... i miss it alot and would love for nothing more than to be doing that kindve job instead of what i am ... dont get me wrong i dont hate my job or anything ...l am good at it and it pays me well ... but it isnt a passion of mine ... those 17 weeks on placement where amazing and something i will treasure for the rest of my life .... if only i could do that kindve job ...
well i spose thats enough reminiscing time to get back to life ... i have booked myself in for a makeup lesson for next wednesday ... i am quite looking forward to learning how to do makeup to suit my face... i have been brushing my hair often and every day (atleast once a day usually twice) i have been doing my skin routine ... it seems to have paid off as my skin is in fantastic nick just now ... i am thinking of applying for another job ... got feed back from the job i applied for and didnt get ... it was as expected i didnt have enough experience ... in the work place just now it is an employers world and they can be fussy and not waste too much time training people as much if they have someone that just needs a wee bit ( compared to me) then that will save them money ... so i can understand why i didnt get the job ... but i will keep looking and keep up my routine so that i can improve myself physically as well as financially0 -

Hi elantan
Yes you need to be working 30 hours per week - sorry I thought you worked full time.
Is there any chance of increasing your hours or working self-employed to get you to 30 hours?

i do do some overtime with my current job and i can generally get some more ... but it isnt guaranteed sadly ... my current contract is for 23.5 hours per week so i would only need to find 6.5 hours per week to make me up ...0

thats me finished my latest run of nght shifts now to get on top of things again ... the money came in for the insurance so i think the plan is to go and buy this freezer this week sometime and get that filled ... i need to phone my pension stuff and get that fixed ... i need to try and get some overtime at work ... i think there is more to do but i cant seem to remember just now0

think you need to sleep 1st but at least it's a relief getting the insurance money..good luck with the other stuff0

thanks taxi that is just what i did ... went with mr el to the dr's and found out exactly what the situation is ... ok here we go the tests were for ck readings apparently this is routinely done when bloods are taken ... the normal range is anywhere from 60 -160 roughly ( he couldnt give an exact figure) mr els reading was a staggering 19000 actually over the 19000 but i cant remember exactly by how much .... i think once you hit a figure like 19000 then really the other numbers wont matter much tbh .... this time his reading have came down but are still above normal levels ( the dr didnt give me the reading ) he has told mr el to start excercising again and he will retest him in three weeks to rule out excercise ... but he thinks it has been the medication that mr el has been on for years ... and that mr el has complained about for years but has been told it isnt a side effect of the meds ..
his cholesterol is sitting at 6.5 but the dr will not put him on statins due to the side effects on the muscles... he has also been given another 4 week line off of work so essentially he will have been absent from work for over 6 months now ...
i went for a makeup lesson yesterday .... oh dear really not good ... false eyelashes need i say more ?
the job i applied for got the interview for past the first part but failed the second bit sent me an email today asking me to send in a c.v to them ... saying that they may have a suitable job for me ... so now i am attempting to do a c.v ... i aint skilled in that dept at all ... i did have one years ago which was great ( i was suitably impressed with my own skills) however when my laptop got stolen so did my c.v
thats about all that i have been up to ... still on these antibiotics for my hand (what a nightmare that was)0 -
El - I have a CV format if it will help... PM me if you need it
