i have seen them gilligan and yep that might do actually ... thought about that after i had written about my fear of falling in ( how silly is that btw) ... how are you finding the halogen oven ? i am thinking about one but not sure if it is worth it or not ... would it just lie in a cupboard gathering dust with me? i dont know tbh... how easy is it to use etc
i take that same stance on gardening myself ... i try and try but really dont have a clue so i land up letting it all fend for itself aswell0 -
Halogen oven is good, it just takes a bit of getting used to. Some things are a lot quicker, others take the same amount of time. But it definitely saves on the leccy! It does take up a fair amount of space on the worktop, which I don't have, so it can't stay there, gets moved when necessary. If you can get a decent bargain, it may be worth a try.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

i have to decide what i am going to do with the pension money i now no longer am paying ... i got my statement in and quite frankly it was appaling so i need to have a rethink0 -
Hi El.. a friend of a friend wrote a book about halogen ovens - they thought they were brilliant.
Sounds like things are going in the right direction even if it is slower than you'd likeDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
thanks squizz yeah things are slowly going in the right direction ... i'm taking the tourist route i reckon0

As long as things are heading in the right general direction, it doesn't really matter if they are a little slower than you would like at this point in time. There will be other times when things are happening quicker than expected, so it will even itself out over time!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. well not sure quite what to make of things here ... things got bad financially so we have had to claim the mortgage insurance ... it has taken us a week to get the paper work from the dr ( at a cost of £10) one of the questions that the dr is asked is . Please advise whether the consumption of alcohol or classified drugs has contributed to the illness or accident ... the dr has responded bouts when he has been drinking heavily ... now this is true ... it is a well known fact that depression is exacerbated by alcohol consumption and the husband is an alcoholic ... however i am now thinking should we not bother sending the claim form in ? will it have an effect on any future claims etc? we would get £750 for the insurance ( approx £250 a month after the first 60 days) could they refuse to pay out due to the alcohol?
i dont honestly know what to do ....0 -
Sadly, I would expect them to withhold payment because of the alcohol issue - I would think that if you take a look at the small print of your policy, it will mention it, amongst other "self inflicted" things.
I fully understand the "cycle" of depression/alcoholism etc and that there is an element of chicken and egg perhaps about the whole thing, but the insurance companies are quite likely to dismiss it.
That said, what have you got to lose by sending it off? It may be that you ARE covered, in which case you should claim. The worst that will happen is that you lose the cost of a stamp.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Hope it does get sorted El, you are very resourceful and i am sure you can turn it around. xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
