El why not look for people with similar shaped faces on TV etc who've got styles you think suits them. I picked mine after watching Sela Ward in House :o It's very low maintenance, just to shoulders so it naturally kicks up at the ends, and no fringe, just brushed straight back. It's just long enough to put out of the way easily in a bobble when needed.

But it depends on what your face shape is as to what will suit you.

Do we get more info on the gardening course?

thats just what i was thinking see ... welll almost ... was going to hair styles for people with round fat faces ... will try that out and see how it goes ...

the course is being ran by edinburgh botanical gardens ... it is a practical horticultural course ... i have loads of books on gardening and i kinda know what i am doing but i think i would really learn alot more if i had a tutor to show me what i am doing etc ... it then can lead onto more courses ... but i would decide them at a later date...

well mr el painted loads of the railings ... i managed to plant four rows of mangetout and two circly thingy things of beans, some lettuce some carrots and some lovely smelling flowers .... i have loads more to do but i feel good having done all that ... managed a tiny bit of the weeding ( what i could do with out the kneeling pad ) .... i am now going to have a look at hairstyles and try and have a chat with son regarding interview techniques

Well the course sounds really interesting ... I had a lovely day at EBG some er, 26 years ago (where did the time go?)

As far as style or 'round fat faces' girl, practicing changing the words would be a good start ;) ... When I had 'my colours' done, I came out a 'soft autumn', which means I look best in soft muted shades. For ages I went around saying I did 'sludge brown' well until a friend pulled my up and said 'NO, its rich chocolate', same colour but much more respectful!!! (worked for me anyway :))

    NL x

p.s. glad you had a great time, has Mr E been on meds for long (sorry not as dilligent as Taxi) ... the night terrors may subside after a wee while once he gets used to the dose.

it looks better taxi ... now that it has less weeds ... i'm hoping eventually for it to look lovely ... but i am rapidly learning that takes years of trial and error ... but i am loving the learning process ....

i'm doing it essentially as i want to be more in control of what goes into my body as well as environmental impact of food travelling etc ...

how are you getting on with yours? ... i seem to remember you talking about gardens ages ago

thanks for the advice NL ... i know what you mean about words ... they are very important especially when we talk about self image ... however i have a "round fat face" ... as opposed to a "round thin face" which people like cameron diaz and halle berry have ....

the reason i say "round fat" is to give peope an idea of my face shape ... for example a person with a "round th in face" can wear shorter hair styles where as it is not recommended for people with " round fat " faces .... other types of face shapes would be heart shape or long ... both of which will have a thin and a fat version ... and i am sure all three have a medium version ...

anyway ... hairstyles ... i have have seen a few but they are very much like the style i currently have ... long ( below chin) layered, no fringe and middle parting ... i have tried several times to get my hair to have a side parting but it just aint happening ... my hair is also straight ... i tend to tuck my hair behind my ears as well as it gets in my way ... as well as wearing it up most of the time ( work reasons ... and atleast if i dont brush it it looks ok ) i did brush it today yay

the styles i saw however had some lift in them ... i dont know how to do that and my hair isnt thick so i think i will have another wee look and think ...

i know a bob is apparently one of the worst things you can do with a face like mine ... but i have had them in the past and found them to be ok ... i dont suit short at all ... i look very butch if my hair is short ... which is ok if you want to look butch ... but whilst i dont want to look like a girly girl i deff dont want to look butch either

    will give it more thought

Have you tried without the parting. Another round face here, and I've found brushing it straight back works, as showing more of the forehead makes the face look longer, well I think it does :)

I think for the lift/volume it probably means blow drying or something like that, and maybe using products too, either gels or sprays. But I know nothing about that area really, you could post on the health & beauty bit of mse with questions. Though on the volume front I've used the Pantene shampoos and seperate conditioners for volume, and they do seem to work a little bit.

hey all it's been a while hasnt it ? well what have i been up to ?

i have been working doing a bit of overtime and slowly chipping away at the debt, i have been spending some quality time in my garden (although not as much as i would like , and not planting as much as i would like either sadly) i have also decided i need a full time job so i have been applying for jobs and going for interviews so far i havnt been lucky ... but it is early days yet..., the debt is slowly coming down but sadly i am starting to think about spending some money that i dont have

we are still struggling with the whole food issue... we only have a small freezer which is full of food ... not anything already cooked just ingredients ... i am thinking maybe if we had a bigger freezer we could cook two amounts at a time ( say two lots of pizza bases two lots of pizza sauce etc ) eat one and freeze one ... so that when we are really busy we can take food out the ngiht before and eat it the next day ... i'm also thinking that maybe it is time again to have a slow cooker ... i had one before but gave it to son for his flat ... he lost it ... maybe i should buy another one to cook with ... and i wont give it to son this time lol

i did buy a bread maker, i have been using it alot havnt bought a loaf since i bought it tbh ... i like the bread maker it is fairly easy to use but it does take 4 hours to bake so i need to remember to put it on early in the morning if i leave it too late then i have to leave it to the next day ... yes it does have a timer thing that i can use, but sometimes i dont notice when the bread is running out so i need a loaf in say a few hours rather than over night

hope everyone is good better go update my totals
