I like the talk of meandering, long straight rivers are relatively boring and not that pretty, but the meandering bits are normally the pretty bits, and the river still reaches the sea or ocean in the end :)

Pampering yourself and gardening sounds like a nice start to the meandering :)

So long as you have a plan for the debt, you can meander off track occasionally, just so long as there is a way back.
Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Thanks ladies your very right both of you ... so meandering for the mean time i am ....

went into the garden the currant plant has been munched ... i did a bit of weeding ... cleared the weeds from the pathof the polytunnel i have the weed stop stuff down ....obviously it isnt working ... planted a few tubs up but have more tubs to plant up .... so tomorrow i will be going to the garden centre and buying some more compost a new head for the hose and some paint for mr el to do the metal fence on the verandah .... i love love love spending time in my garden ... it's so relaxing, peaceful and slow ...

anyway gonna try and get another 20 mins or so in before the sun goes to bed ....

oh in other news ( see the garden was just much more important lol) i paid some of the debts off today ... just the minimum ... but i paid it .. it feels weird to pay the minimumj off of a debt , i generally try and pay the minimum plus £50 or so extra atleast ... i also asset planted today ... not as much as i wouldve liked but i did put some money into the asset planting pot

hey all ... i slept till 4pm today .... i still seem to be suffering jetlag or maybe it's nightshift itus , i'm not too sure tbh ... was wide awake at 5am this morning and just couldnt lift my head from the pillow before 4pm today ...

i have decided to start applying for another job ... i had planned on doing so after the summer ..... but after speaking to my boss the other day and my son today i think i should start applying now. My boss was explaining to me ( as if i didnt know cause it's been all over the news) that our sector is really struggling just now ... the way she did so was more like a friendly warning ... i explained i had planned on moving on after the summer anyway ( have already told her this) she said yeah i remember you saying ... i'm just saying thats a good move.... then after speaking to my son today and finding out it would take 3 months from applying to starting ... i thought well now is the right time ...

so i am going to be doing my homework, writting a new c.v and applying for jobs....

spent a little while in the garden though did some weeding yay ... still got hundreds more to do but i did some ...

Good timing for the proposed move, in lots of sectors there is a lull around July & August, as not enough people around to make the decision to hire for higher positions so better to start the job hunting now.

well today has turned out not too bad after the ropey start ...

i phoned the tax man to find out what the situation is with my finishing up my business ... it appears that i am due a tax rebate ... which couldnt come at a better time tbh ... okit may take another few weeks till the cheque arrives and then another week for the cheque to clear but it is coming ....

weather hasnt been great today so no chance of doing any weeding .... i wouldve had to have waded to the back garden with the amount of rain we have had .... but there is always tomorrow ...

have sent the iphone to envirophone so it will take a wee while for the cheque to come in from there but atleast that is now done ....i wouldve almost paid for someone to take the phone off of me ... but they are willing to pay me for it so they can

need to phone the visa now to see how much i owe from our holiday in florida ... that worked out so well ... we got the halifax clarity card to use ... no charges and the things we buy are done on the international rate ( 1.66 on average) .... which is fantastic ... mil pre loaded a card ... paid £3 to withdraw money (every other day) got it at the tourist rate that was around at the time she preloaded (roughly 1.5) and has came back with loads ... she went to try and transfer it back ... she was getting £1 for every $2 not good at all ....

edited to add ... phoned the bank ... i have a remainder bill of £101.47 so i have paid that off ...

we spent much less on holiday than we had planned ... so our debt didnt go up this month and on top of that we had enough to give son some money for his new home so we wont be going into more debt with that as well ... things are still going to be very tight till hubby is back at work and we are on an even footing again ... it will take months to recover ... but it could be soooo much worse than it is ...

now to concentrate on the debt the asset planting and getting a new job
