Could be worth a try, although they may be more inclined to say you stuck the stickers on yourself if you've taken it home in the meantime?

What do you base that fantastically helpful post on? How many times have you witnessed that happening?

They do that a lot, from what I can work out. Same happened to me :o Could not even find a display of the policy.

Some Tesco's may try to dodge it, but at least it is there in white and blue

And where would i get £8.97 tesco stickers from?

If they start making a fuss will have a full refund.
  • can anyone tell me. when you see a SEL sticker with a expiry date of 5th December does the price change at midnight on the 5th or when does it? also when do the staff update the sel?

when i was in tesco today i could not find any misprices but noticed a lot of the champagne with sel with an expiry of the 5/12/06

i guess i was wondering if i went into my tesco first thing on the 6th would the champagne misprice if they still had up the old labels

The general consensuss (sp?) on here is not to use a clubcard and pay in cash in the case of an R&R.

I agree that it's always nicer to NOT be greedy, but really you could use your clubcard if you wanted, I'd say. The only record of your transaction history (if any) that they would have access to would be a list of purchases. There'd be no mention of an overcharge, an R&R, or anything else likely to put you on the wrong side of Mr. T.

    Leadhead,

You are correct in that I am fairly new to this thread and this forum, however what exactly was wrong with what I posted? I was replying to someone who suggested that if your mate's already got a cd player then that's classed as "not fit for purpose". As far as I'm aware what I put is correct, an item that is not fit for purpose describes when something is faulty or just not good enough to be considered worthy of being what it is, not just cos your mate's got one. Please someone either correct me if I'm wrong or back me up as being right either way.

If you too had looked back just a few pages you would see that I work for Tesco, I have done for over 7 years. I have no problem with people r&ring as Tesco is the one in the wrong for overcharging and if Tesco decides to offer people their money back then they should stick to that, it is after all a bribe as mentioned earlier to stop you from phoning TS.

While you answered the (wrongly assumed by ginjim) "not fit for purpose" part correctly........

    well thats easy then
we can get refunds on anything all you have to say is that you bought it for someone else and he/she has already got it.
i think thats not fit for purpose

Ginjim, had clearly got his policies mixed up, as what he should of said(to cover his mate already having one) was the 28 day returns rule, where you can return your goods for whatever reason

Being a Tesco employee with supposed knowledge of this, you should have spotted the error in gimjims assumption, and merely told him, that Yes, that would be dealt with under the 28 day no quibble returns policy......but you chose instead to waffle on about an irrelevant policy.

I have read every post on this thread from around part 4 onwards.....and I dont need to remember if people work for Tesco's or not, its the incorrect information and waffle that sticks in my mind, and a lot of it seems to come from junior Tesco employees.

Watch out for this guy,,,,,,,claims he's worked for tescos for 7 years....but this was his first post on the thread.

Forgive my ignorance, but I've looked through loads of this thread to find out what a golden r&r is, and all I can tell is that it's something to do with a credit card? Maybe where you get to keep the receipt and they don't mark it too?

I got a r&r the other day on Old el Paso Tortillas, they were half price but they went through at half a penny more than half price so got r&r. They got all confused when trying to give me 2 and a half pence back! I paid on my credit card so was wondering if there's anything else I can do to get more money back or something?

In posts between thoSe above, you say you can scan items in your dinner hour, and let us know the outcome.

Then on the 2nd of December.....a fresh statement.....

A couple of things that you might be interested in, you guys may have already mentioned these earlier so my apologies if repeating old stuff. When I worked for Tesco there was a new policy that came in of only offering r&r on a maximum of 5 of the same item

So what is it benjiMORON.....DO YOU WORK FOR TESCO'S OR DONT YOU.....
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

No it does not change at midnight. There is a system whereby the price increases are actioned on the shelf prior to them changing on the system.

It could be a miss price. Or the offer could continue. Or the price could go down. Makes it all more interesting, don't it?
