My ban came as a direct result of using the price check scanners before paying and getting R&Rs, I was told by the security guard that banned me that the system was not there to be abused and then told me to leave and not return!
I did return for a meeting with the store manager where I got my ban overturned, in the meeting the manager kept telling me they had seen me scanning items then R&Ring them, however, when I said the items I scanned were not the ones I bought he couldnt prove it (probably the CCTV didnt catch exactly what I scanned)
Just because it hasnt happened in your store doesnt mean it hasnt happened, there are quite a few others on here that have had the same treatment, it happened to frequent just the other day!
Surely there's nothing wrong or illegal with trying to get an r&r? Tesco is the one that is breaking the law by overcharging, there are far worse things that will happen to them if they ban someone (I mean TS being called, not teeth getting bashed in!). Is it fraud if you try to find something they will overcharge you on and then ask for an r&r? Surely that's just taking them up on their offer? If they didn't want you to take them up on their offer then they shouldn't make it, or if they don't want people to do it too much then it should say something like "limited to one refund per month".
On a side note, has anyone ever tried this with another supermarket? The same applies that they should be willing to bribe you not to call TS as they have broken the law in overcharging you? If they didn't offer it to me I would phone TS and thet would get them in a lot more trouble surely?0 -
Ok.....
Has anyone got back into a store (later on in the day) and got a R&R from a refused one.
I'm thinking i might go back in later tonight when the people i seen are not there and can say i've been on your website and will shown them their overcharge policy. I'm thinking of not phoning HO as this will put me on the rader for £20.
Maybe i will get someone nice0 -
NY_Tunnel_Rat wrote:OK, my email box is getting full of people asking about the yahoogroups r and r list,The Yahoogroups owner has given me approval for this to be posted, I have put the details below, this is a once only post. the group works like this, it takes the info off MSE, friendly CS staff and Laura's site and emails it straight out, a group of people who do IT working during the day and eve pull off the posts and send it via email to your phone as a text message (or anybody thats free and online can help), so its real time and you can act before tesco's do, once a day they send a version with all of the days posts in one message to a wap site so it can be read via wap, the group will tell you how to set your phone up (even a basic phone can be made to get email to text) with your service provider, mines on Orange and it takes about 20 secs for the email to arrive, BUT they will verify you first, send an email to refundit@btinternet.com and let them know your username on Moneysavingexpert and your email address, ask to be added onto the rnr list, they want to make sure that the people they are getting are genuine RnR's and not Tesco staff, it takes about 7/10 days for them to verify you, approve you and add you to the list, you can then post to the list as well as knowing where it is, you can have the emails sent to you straight away or just choose to have the condensed version
What a load of complete and utter tosh.

I have always been given just the difference of the mis-priced item from CS at Asda. Never thought to yell TS! Never knew Tesco had this policy until I stumbled on this thread...If we all lived to the rule 'an eye for an eye', the world would be blind...0 -

Could be worth a try, although they may be more inclined to say you stuck the stickers on yourself if you've taken it home in the meantime?0 -
