OK, my email box is getting full of people asking about the yahoogroups r and r list,The Yahoogroups owner has given me approval for this to be posted, I have put the details below, this is a once only post. the group works like this, it takes the info off MSE, friendly CS staff and Laura's site and emails it straight out, a group of people who do IT working during the day and eve pull off the posts and send it via email to your phone as a text message (or anybody thats free and online can help), so its real time and you can act before tesco's do, once a day they send a version with all of the days posts in one message to a wap site so it can be read via wap, the group will tell you how to set your phone up (even a basic phone can be made to get email to text) with your service provider, mines on Orange and it takes about 20 secs for the email to arrive, BUT they will verify you first, send an email to refundit@btinternet.com and let them know your username on Moneysavingexpert and your email address, ask to be added onto the rnr list, they want to make sure that the people they are getting are genuine RnR's and not Tesco staff, it takes about 7/10 days for them to verify you, approve you and add you to the list, you can then post to the list as well as knowing where it is, you can have the emails sent to you straight away or just choose to have the condensed version

Ok Mr Kelly.....nice try.......are you sure you dont need our Clubcard details aswell....youve already got 3 of my mobile numbers.

Had a quick search of yahoogroups last night, and couldnt find anything re this(mind it was only a quick search)
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

  • At the risk of sounding like a greedy buffoon (I'm a newbie so please forgive me!), do your recently acquired clubcard points get taken back off if you R&R? Or do you not use your clubcard as such is, in effect, a sneaky tracking device??
If we all lived to the rule 'an eye for an eye', the world would be blind...

They are stickered by the company which supplies them.

Not normally, in answer to both questions.

The general consensuss (sp?) on here is not to use a clubcard and pay in cash in the case of an R&R.

We can live without the points, but we can't live without r&r!!!!!!!!!!!, advisable not to use your clubcard unless you wish them to know everything about your transaction history.;)
    I had a plan..........its here somewhere.

Thanks but NO thanks i'm quiet happy with the system that is in place at the moment.
I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!

You are correct *flutterby*.......but as Tesco's have their own 28 day rule, (if you are unhappy with the goods), then they HAVE to honour this......unless the rescind it.

I see by your posting record, you only found this thread last week. may
I suggest(with respect) you start 20 pages back, or go to the ethics thread, or even read the applicable "rule" we are talking about on the Tesco instore "blue" board

Theres been a load of waffle talked about this recently

We arent talking about Statutory Rights as such, but Tesco's own rules....the 28 day returns rule in particular.

The policy is....If you are unhappy in any way with your goods.................return them within 28 days for a full refund, and as the RandR we get is merely a bribe to avoid possible prosecution, then it should be ignored for 28 day rule purposes.

As Tesco's have coerced people into their stores with such policies as this and the "overcharge" one......they MUST maintain them.

    Leadhead,

You are correct in that I am fairly new to this thread and this forum, however what exactly was wrong with what I posted? I was replying to someone who suggested that if your mate's already got a cd player then that's classed as "not fit for purpose". As far as I'm aware what I put is correct, an item that is not fit for purpose describes when something is faulty or just not good enough to be considered worthy of being what it is, not just cos your mate's got one. Please someone either correct me if I'm wrong or back me up as being right either way.

If you too had looked back just a few pages you would see that I work for Tesco, I have done for over 7 years. I have no problem with people r&ring as Tesco is the one in the wrong for overcharging and if Tesco decides to offer people their money back then they should stick to that, it is after all a bribe as mentioned earlier to stop you from phoning TS.
