Champagne still going thru at wrong price, just got 10 bottles today, paid out £147 but they refunded £209!!
The store customer services started to argue about bulk buying and that we could only be limited to 5-6 bottles, but when i mentioned that they would let me buy 10 bottles they changed their minds.
Moet chandon champagne 750 ml on its own unboxed and £19.15 on the SEL but goes thru the till at £20.94.
also got 8 pack of chicken fillets (£24) and £13 of pork outdoor reared stuffed and streaky slices 1pence overcharge. Woman on CS argued its only a penny, but i remarked "Every Little Helps"Wins so Far: 21" lcd monitor, 6 day all expenses paid holiday to China, 8800GTX gfx card, 2x Panasonic cameras, 12 cups and Loads of Twix's, Coffee Lovers Hamper - Wild bean cafe. TomTom (upto value of £200) Aviva Car Insurance0 -

Picked up 6 bottles of Moet earlier - scan at £20.94 - SEL £19.15 (:T OP)
CS wanted to refund me and charge me the 'correct' price - processed refund.
At this point I stepped in with the 'what about your price promise' line and pointing gormlessly at the big old blue sign.
CS was unsure about the R&R - called Manager.
Manager arrives - he concludes that the wrong issue of SEL is on display - explains how the issue of labels works - then a lengthy chat about how Tesco are so on the ball with their prices - over-charging is very rare - blah, blah, blah.
He concludes that someone - "I'm not suggesting it was you Sir!" has taken the current label out and put an old one in.
Clearly this guy thinks The Dude is a less than honourable man
Anyway - he will not budge - we get HO on the line - Dundee chat to the Manager - get the impression that he's sold them on the swapping SELs nonsense - they back him up.
It was crystal that I wasn't getting anywhere - asked him if I could get my receipt back and go on my merry way.
So I go back to the CS desk and ask for my receipts.
Of course - the Manager is not aware that CS have already refunded me (they didn't take the wine 25% discount off the refund, if you see what I mean - £95 out, £125 back in).
So I walk out - ready for all hell to break loose if the Manager and CS lady get their heads together and work out that I've been refunded and have kept the bubbly.
I kept my cool - but inside I was very angry with the implication that I was a bad egg and justified my actions by telling myself that I was in the right, as far as R&R goes.
So did I break the law?
Duder
No not from what i read in your post
Well donebtw

I bought some beer today - was sure I had an R&R.
CS said no, now in order to maintain my stance I walked out with the beer I had paid for.
If i return to a different store and ask for a refund what will they say?0 -
I got an R & R on a PC game called Fifa XXX 06 - or something like that - I posted it on the misprices board. It was stickered at £14.97 and scanned at £29.99. It was the only one on the shelf.
Anyway, when I got home and unpacked it I noticed that it looked a bit tatty on the outside. When I opened the box (there was no cellophane) I was shocked to see that the booklet was dog-eared, the disc was covered in finger prints and the inside of the box had lots of scratches - i.e. this was clearly a 'used' product! As you know, these things are inside plastic security boxes, so there is no way I could have seen this when I bought it.
I called the store straight away and explained (being up-front about having been over-charged and had a refund etc.) and was told to bring it back to the store to exchange it. I asked if they could make a record of the fact that I had phoned so that I didn't have any problems when I came back to CS the next day.
I went back this morning and guess what - they had no record of my phone call and the CSA began to kick up a stink saying that it would be impossible for a product in this condition to have been on sale as returns go through a thorough checking procedure. She suggested that I could have swapped the new game I bought for an old one I had at home (as the receipt simply stated "PC game"). I was so embarrassed (there were lots of people waiting behind me), but stood my ground on it, despite the fact that she was pointing out that I already had it free.
I was blushing deeply and feeling guilty and humiliated (although it was their fault - not mine!), but remembered my assertiveness training from years ago and did the 'broken record' thing where you just calmly repeat your point of view. I stated that I only had it free due to their own grossly inaccurate pricing error and that I wanted to exchange it. In the end she relented and asked me to choose something else. I picked up two GBA games (2 for £30) and she even had the nerve to ask me for the extra 1p difference.
I came away feeling humiliated. I don't think I will be doing R&Rs any more now.
Feel better for having got it off my chest now though.0 -

Depends, if you are going there to try for R&R on it, forget it, they will just say go back to the original store but if you just want a plain refund then I doubt it will be too much of a problem, just come out with some excuse!
What beer was it by the way? Details please!Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

POST 2350
It was just a very rude and not clued up CS person you delt with.
Dont put this off, go back and take them for everything.
You should have pointed out to the sign 'your statutory rights are not affected'
Did you manage to get the person who you spoke to on the phone?0 -

Thank you for your support. Stupidly I didn't ask the name of the person I spoke to on the phone (a lesson learned here!). You have made a good point about the statutory rights thing too - but I was far too flustered at the time to think the thing through clearly - I spent the journey home thinking of all the things I should have said!0
