Sorry I think some of you are confused what your statutory rights are.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but your statutory rights are only that you can bring the item back if it is faulty or not fit for purpose.

If an item is of good quality and correctly described retailers are under no obligation to give you a refund although many do.

It is Tesco's normal policy to exchange an item within 28 days or purchase but hey we all know how they try and get out of their policy's!!!
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now

I am a regular poster on this thread .... using a psudonym for certain reasons, anyway that's besides the point, which is:

I have been to about 6 stores yesterday and today and have not once found a single bottle of Moet at £19.xx .... Every store had a £2x.xx offer SEL ...! GUTTED!

If any tee-totalers find "MOET 75CL BRUT NV" at their store for £19.xx and don't fancy trying the r&r then please feel free to make my day and PM me the details, in return I can send you some other r&r'ed goods which perhaps you can make use of better than the Champers (eg. Xbox 360 games) !!!!

    TA !! :D

Hi...after reading the above post, it now feels right to let you know that I had great success with Moet today..........I cant believe you followed me round these stores...(PM me with your area and I'll confirm or deny)

Set out at 7.30am(thats really early for me)....with the aim of doing 7 stores before lunchtime, with one thing in mind......Moet!!!

Succeeded in all but the last store(which didnt sell it)

36 bottles of Moet today........although I had to move a larger POS along the shelf on 5 occasions.

Sorry thats only 32 today.....one store only had 2 left, but allowed me to pay for 6, (to get the case discount)and pick the others up tomorrow.....although that might be in jeopardy if they read this......

On 2 occasions I was even refunded the full amount before the case discount came into play.......it would have been 4 times had it not been for people butting in saying "thats not right".....

Every store had 2 prices......Why oh why did they not take the smaller £19.15yellow sel away when putting out the new POS.

In the last store I had to settle for 6 bottles of Piersporter for a total of £2.16 after using a couple of the old Asda coupons.

BTW..........according to an SA, their SS tills can't read the date on a coupon.

Had some really easy managers(managers called on each occasion), who agreed immediately, but also had some real difficult ones who found excuse after excuse to not give me the full RandR.

The main arguments stemmed around whether the bottles I had were actuallyMV, as it wasnt written on the bottle.

On 4 occasions I was told they were ringing Dundee for advice

My RandR sabatical must have done me some good.

    I felt pretty sharp today.

I will troll through the previous 2 days postings to thank the OP......36 times....lol........certainly helped me resolve a few Christmas present problems.

EDIT Forgot to thank bluetimone97 who PMed me a question late last night re The POS covering a lower priced SEL on the Moet.......which spurred me into going out this morning......cheers mate.......hope you got yours too.
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

    NOPE

    I quote tescos receipt

"If you change your mind about your purchase, please retain your receipt and return it to the store with your product as sold within 28 days" :D

This does not affect your statutory right

  • Overheard an interesting conversation tonight whilst at cs desk.
The cs was on the phone to the manager and said that there seemed to be a problem with all £12.96 stickered DVDs, these had all gone up and the store was getting badly stung because of their policy. He suggested that in future to only offer the difference, to which she replied we can't do that because everyone now knows our policy.
It may be worth keeping an eye out for anything with a £12.96 sticker on.

I have been in 2 stores today. No1 had the various different SEL's for the Xbox varieties but no yellow SEL special offer £20 off promo. No2 had the yellow SEL for the offer, definately stating ANY Xbox console, but only a premium unit on the shelf. So if there is a yellow special offer SEL AND all the various Xbox consoles surely it should apply to the bundle boxes as well. But as stated on here the offer does NOT kick in. So if you can find a store with all the ingredients on show and fancy a bit of a 'nose to toe' with HO (because I can imagine they might become involved) then you may well come away with an Xbox for Christmas. I know if I see it anywhere I'll give it a go, but I will let my OH deal with the CS/refund/HO bit as I am known to KK! Can't wait to see if someone deals this one. Also no sign of the mispriced champers for me, but Bacon Rashers (crisps) coming out of my ears.

Just done this - store had shelf of bundles (PES, GOW, RAW)in dvd cases, no price underneath but the big yellow SEL saying £20 when buying any xbox console and game. Picked up one of them, was charged moderately more than I should of with the £20 off. Manager refused to budge, but eventually put me on the phone to CS at HO. Took the phone back to explain their side then put the phone down without letting me speak to them again. Then they called me a deragatory term and it all went downhill from there.

Basically, I have registered my complaint with CS and they are handing to the dept which deals with xboxes (wonder why they need one of those?) They tried to wirggle out of it by saying bundles weren't included and that the £20 was a separate offer (no mention of that anywhere). I'll see what happens when they call me back next week. By then I may have just 'discovered' this site and all the stated cases of this offer before!!!

BTW, only one of the bundles scans through as an overcharge but I think this has been covered. First posting under this username to protect my anonymity.
