Clowance wrote:overheard at customer services: "special offer price tag " sometimes photocopied and then replaced on shelf edge after offer ends, hence generating an "overcharge". Scammers then buy loads of the overcharged product and get refunds, apparently selling off the products. This would I imagine be a criminal offence, but seems to go on a fair bit.
I was horrified.
Funnily enough after being given a *very* hard time on my first R&R, the store manager did say to me "I have no idea how that price got to be there". I *instantly* hit back "I hopr you are not saying I put it there!".
(But his CCTV footage that he made clear that he had viewed would back up my innocence!)0 -

I know i was gutless but I got someone else to take the dvds back for me and get a refund today as i was too scared to try to go back in the store which i was thrown out of..
After the saga the other night I just wanted my money back - I know I was entitled to more but as i wasnt even allowed back in the store it peed me off even having to drive back there and stay in the car.
I have a friend compiling a letter to head office for me as I am scared to phone them in case they side with that manager or if he just lies and says he didnt shove me?
another thing what I was wondering is if Im banned did he the muppet who threw me out mean from all tescos or just that one?
He can only really ban you from his store.
A few of us have had letters from HO (effectively banning us nationwide)....but unless you use a Tesco club Card.......how are they ever to know.
I wouldnt worry about it.....but in your letter to HO, just mention that you are disgusted at his attitude, the way you were man handled and in the fact that he banned you from his store for merely pointing out a misprice.
And even that you are consulting your solicitor with regard to being physically ejected from the store.............Do you have a witness.Couponing....."every little hurts"

Thank you - i will do and also will mention that he called some big hefty bloke to stand behind him too!:j
I was wondering how hes going to get me banned from every store when he doesnt know my name even unless the police gave it to him.
incidentally when i asked HIS name he said his first name and i asked for his second name and he said you dont need to know that..grrrrr:mad:
Ive been a bit wary of going in our local store now incase my details have been passed on... all this for pointing out to him he had over charged me itro a tenner!!0 -
Not_Happy_With_Tescos wrote:forgot to add that that store now has a sign up behind customer service desk saying Bulk Buying - only one of each item allowed now!
The official line from head office is 10 per item. I would expect stores to restrict some items should they be on offer slightly more to allow as many customers a chance to take them up on the offer.
Contact head office and inform them that the store has put the sign up.0 -

Do you think they dont log on from home
Do you think they say...Hello my name is KK, can I join
I think not.
Some people have very limited imaginations.
I hope you are active tonight redfox......
They could log on from home - But they'd have to be pretty sad to be worrying about work in their own time. Even if they did, at least they wouldn't be running around the store with a printout frantically removing SELS.0 -

Yes, unfortunately some of these guys take it rather personal.
These people must be quite clever to have reached this position, Its funny how they lose their cool so easy.....Did you have a witness, I'm sure you did.
Ive just gone back to a couple of stores I was banned from 2 to 3 months ago....stood next to the guy who banned me while my wife was at the tills.
I certainly think you should take it up with HO, it will obviously make them aware of you, and they will then have your details........Ask them if its their policy to ban people for being overcharged.Couponing....."every little hurts"

Yes, totally agree but weve had a couple of Tesco Employees(to name but one) that used to do that every morning, before work, then go to their boss with the results, and brag on this thread, that they'd done it
And some of us are pretty sure it still happensCouponing....."every little hurts"

Very true.
But not the "Quick, grab everything you see. Clear the place out. Leave nothing for anyone else. What do you mean you can't use 20 TVs? Who cares? Just get all the ones you see then go clear out as many other stores as you can!" board.
In truth I don't actually mind people doing that. My local store must have some serious r&r's because I see the evidence of their work on all the repriced meat. As I walk around the store I chuckle to myself and think "good job lads/lasses".
But I'll reiterate how easy it is to get caught up in greed. The whole "It's there, I can have it for free, I'm going to have it even though I already have far more than I can use" trap is easy to fall in to.
Maybe it comes down to ethics.
Tesco's ethics on mispricing: BAD
Tesco's ethics on adhering to their own promises: BAD
Tesco's ethics in dealing with someone who has been overcharged: BAD
Our ethics when deliberately seeking out a misprice to get an item for free: Well, bad...and good (we ensure others aren't overcharged).
Our ethics when going to lots of different stores to get multiples of items we can't really use: You decide.
PLEASE NOTE: THE ETHICS QUESTIONS ARE RHETORICAL. I HAVE NO INTENTION OF DISCUSSING THE ETHICS OF R&R'ING. (Here or anywhere else!)
But heck, I lost faith in Tesco's many years ago due to the constant overcharging (long before this board even existed) so I have no problem with seeing them pay the price for a change. And believe me, whatever we get for free is far more than made up for by the extra profits Tesco make on all the other poor sods who fail to notice the overcharging.
Still, it *would* be nice to think that there are people who are looking around their room right now and thinking....hmm, do I really need 7 xbox360's or could I live my life with only 6 and use the spare to make it a stunning Christmas for a child who normally gets very little...actually, I could throw in one of the 15 copies of Tony Hawks I got as well.
Now I know there is unlikely to be anyone here with more than a couple of xbox's but the principle is the same. A lot of toys have had misprices recently and I'm sure there are some r&r's with more than they need.
If that's the case, is it too much to ask us to get together as a group and get into the spirit of Christmas GIVE? We could even collect it all together in each local area and maybe Tesco's would match our haul and give the needy kids an even better Christmas.
Those Tesco spies on here might actually do something useful.
It's Christmas. The one time of year you can get that priceless feeling of warmth at the thought of a child having the time of their life because of you. And it would cost you nothing. Quick, grab it while you can!0
