Sorry ABBEIT. but your post is a little baffling. If the premium scans at £279.97 when the SEL is £259.97, did you not get this one as a definate misprice? Also you say that the bundle box scanned at £297.97 which is MORE than the premium - unless the SEL was for £279.97 - so there would be no RnR to be had there at all?????? Did you get confused with all the different packages and SEL's I wonder?

Can you tell me how you did this,is the box there,or do you just order at electrical desk,or take a barcode slip or what......?

    Cheers in advance.

I work in this store, would that make any difference to me getting a refund etc.....if i went on my day off etc....:A

I wouldn't risk it in the store you work in. It could lead to all sorts of accusations, such as purposely putting up the incorrect and out of date sel, or using inside knowledge, etc. Either get someone else to get it (if it's mispriced) or try another store.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

I DO hope that TS do rule with this one, unless Tesco really have been through the fine print with the laws. Who is dealing with this one at HO this time around?

I havent tried this one yet but from memory the tesco price promise does not mention anything about expiry dates. I am going to suggest to HO that if expiry dates are relevant then the policy should include a disclaimer to that effect.

Looks like they are getting tighter (or trying to) on these larger items, although it seems to depend on the individual stores' interpretation.

If that fails then a call to TS must be worth it.

Well, all the regulars on here thought there was, but it seems Tesco have come up with a new one this afternoon.

Regardless of what HO is saying, If 2 prices are shown for the same article, then according to (trading?) law.........the lowest price displayed must be the maximum charged.

eg If the 2 prices are £20 and £18......then the maximum they can charge you is £18.

Theres no qualification needed to go with this statement,

    It is as it is.

So when Ho make up excuses, thats all they are...excuses.

The problem for us arises, when we find we dont have the experience or knowhow to defeat their argument.

Has anyone actually involved TS with this excuse from HO and won......I dont think so.

So Tescos HO will(in my opinion) keep spurting out this rubbish until we have the means to prove them wrong.

In the meantime, lets hope that we meet sensible managers who will uphold their policy as written on the "blue board"

Well I've emailed Customer Services and I've also returned the xbox to another store for a refund - couldn't bear to look at it. I haven't given up completely.

Personally, I'd say stand your ground and go for it. Expiry dates on SELs are irrelevant, as it is the store's responsibility to remove any POS or SELs that are misleading (including having two different prices up for the same product). It is not the customer's responsibility to read the tiny print on the bottom of the SEL. The dates are there for staff information, not customers. Many Tesco promotional SELs (yellow ones) have dates that have already passed, but the offer is then extended (mostly on alcohol), therefore the expiry date (if you can read it) cannot be relied upon. If you have any trouble with HO and the store in question, contact TS. It is an offence to give misleading price indications, including leaving up out of date POS and SELs.

We need to compile a list of sensible managers - they're thin on the ground.
