What do you feed your dog?

Burns made a HUGE change for the best to my dog's behaviour.
He was 8 months when I changed and they told me to put him on canine extra first as the difference in Protein levels was massive drop from his previous food - Pro Plan. I kept him on that for a couple of months and then put him onto the normal adult which they recommend from 6 months + and was lower protein again.
I found that I noticed the difference in his behaviour gradually over the first 2 weeks it takes a while for them to get used to it.0 -
we feed out 7 month old Labrador on Skinner Field & Trial Crunchy. He seems healthy and looks good on it so i can recommend that.0

For people that do feed Burns have you looked at Burns Canine Alert.
It works out quite a bit cheaper as it's VAT free - they do Chicken & Rice / Lamb & Rice the ingredients are practically the same (personally I think better) as the normal Chicken / Lamb & Rice. The fat and protein levels are the same but it just has added fish oils and antioxidants for assistance dogs which I think is a bonus for pets too!

my dad used to feed his springer spaniel bakers and his skin was awful his coat was dull he was like a mad hatter even worse than other springers. He changed him onto CSJ and now his skin is much better and his coat is shiny, He is still mad as a hatter but not quite as bad as he was, Its quite cheap about 13 quid a 15kg bag and available on there site altho there is a 6 quid delivery charge there is a list on the site telling you which shops near you you can buy it from and its usually the same price as online but minus the delivery charge, We feed our showdog (bearded collie) on JWB and his coat looks amazing and he is a bit over weight and this has helped him slim down and he looks fab now0

our spinger spaniel eats our leftovers from dinner, so a wide variety of things. People always comment on how healthy she looks and her coat is great. Very rarely does she have a tin of dog food.0

My beautiful girl used to eat family leftovers too, e.g. mince with gravey & some grated carrot, or roast chicken, mixed in with pedigree kibble biscuits. and a squidge of vitamin oils from the vet. she wouldn't entertain the thought of tinned dog food! RIP pup xx~ Team Sticky ~

My GSM has small quantities of basic home prepped fish/chicken and rice with selected veg peelings etc on top. He's had some horrendous (and vet expensive) stomach problems on various commercial dog foods, the only ones he can digest are Chappie and Chubbs. He gets pigs ears, hooves etc so plenty of chewing activity. At 9 he's as healthy, maybe even healthier, than some dogs fed only commercial products. Only my personal preference and not intending to cause disagreements, I appreciate not everyone has time, but my dog is a member of my family so feel I should be prepared to make meals for him that don't mean opening a tin or packet every day, I certainly don't do it for myself. Some dogs live on them quite happily if they're introduced at an early age. It's just personal preference, and I know what my boy prefers.0

family just in the process of looking to get a lab approx 12 months old. They already have a 6month old shih tzu.. just wondered, after reading all these posts and the dog foods that people are using if there are any dog food that are cost effective but are not filled with rubbish.
it seems that many of the brands you can buy in supermarkets etc are full of rubbish, I understand that obviously quality is related to cost. Just wondered if there was a mid range sort of feed ? ?0
