I’ve been feeding my Border Collie CSJ-CP21 for the last five months, it seems too agreed with her and people always comment on her shiny coat.
Tried Hill’s Science Plan, Royal Canin and Orijen.
The company will send you samples to try if fill in the web form on thier website.
I buy it from a local gundog breeder as it’s not available in the shops.0 -
The only reason my dog has Wagg sometimes is beacuse he likes it, and only has a small amount, with fresh meat, or a cesar tray on top. He is defintely not hyperactive.
James Wellbeloved is my dry food of choice though.0 -
Thank you so much for all the replies - a lot for me to think about - going to pet shop tomorrow so can see for myself.
I must say, in defence of Wagg - she's never been hyperactive on it - typically running around on walks but very calm the rest of the time!
Just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing for her now when I change her food!0 -
I sometimes feed my dog rice with value chicken chopped on top. He loves it. He's peculiar I feel for a dog, as he loves fruit, and will eat any bits of carrot, etc that fall on the floor whilst preparing supper.0

My dogs have Hills Science Plan mixed with a bit of Butcher's Tripe to make it a bit more appetising. They love it and I do get a lot of comments on how lovely their coats are.0

My lab started on James Wellbeloved, then went off and onto Burns, for a couple of years. When he went off Burns too, I did my homework and found Arden Grange, which has lots of good ingredients in and he enjoys. His coat has also become shinier as a result of switching to AG.0

Our dog is on Arden Grange Premium/Sensitive.
We find that if we feed her anything with wheat or maize in it, her hair starts to fall out!0 -
Mine eat Arden Grange (complete dry food) and leftovers, and although my present two are only 18 months and 4yrs I have fed previous dogs AG for about 10 years and have found it to be excellent for all shapes, sizes and ages. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0

Wagg is one of the worst foods on the market, it's full of carbohydrates which turns into sugar inside the dog and that's what makes them hyper. As kazschow dogs fed on barf are fed mostly protein and they thrive on it, you can't get a better diet for a dog. One of my dogs is fed Orijen and hyper is the last thing you could call him :rotfl:, orijen has a white paper that's quite a good read http://www.orijenpetfoods.co.uk/acatalog/ORIJEN_White_Paper(09).pdf, my other dog has kidney failure and at the moment is fed a low protein diet but I'm reading a load on the internet that says it doesn't make a difference.Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goal.0
