Thanks to my lovely visitors the list is sooooooooo much better - Miss A worked like a trojan and would have carried on every evening - but she wore us oldies out!!!!:rotfl:
As you can see Crafty and Kazw it does indeed mean THE LIST is getting shorter
We wanted to do more but it was not meant to be this time but we are all pleased with what we did achieve.
Miss A has returned with new mirrors for her bedroom courtesy of Nanan and Grandad, she has had a great time and has a grin a mile wide

DS1 has tidied his room and pulled out all the furniture for me to clean behind. I'm off to a HHC in there and I'll see how I go. It is my least favourite room to clean as it needs decorating and has loads of stuff in it too.
Toots - glad you are feeling better and that you list is coming down.
Greenbee. You are in a very strong position. Are there many agents to choose between? Could you get a quote from another and bat them against each other? The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Lump sum paid off mortgage and monthly payment increased... so need to open an savings account next and then find a new personal pension (that is ethically acceptable), and then try to remember how to pay money into my cash ISA as I have a lump to go in there too. Then I might let myself look at how quickly my mortgage will be paid off (before going and buying a more expensive house!)0 -
Need to get off my bum and sort the clean washing and ironing. Anyone want to join me for a HHI? 1.30pm go!0

Estate agent's contract is clearly out of date as it includes a section on HIPs. As I'm not actually putting the house on the market yet I'm also not prepared to let them put a board outside. In fact, i probably won't even when I do put it on... I don't want it there where I'm away.
They've offered me either a fixed fee for this one-off, or 1.75% with an offer of £500 off (which is a voucher they're offering generally). The thing is, I do feel that as they're not marketing it in this case then their fee should be lower. They haven't had to do anything as the client specifically asked about houses in this road and I happened to have had a valuation recently. Any suggestions would be welcomed... As I'm not in a rush to sell, and the agent NEEDS this house as no one else round here is even contemplating it, I want to get myself a good deal!
Perhaps its worth asking what other people charge and try to barter the price down that way.Crossed posts with Dusty - great minds think alike! Alternatively if they genuinely have got someone in particular interested, perhaps you could have a one off viewing which if that person buys it you will be charged a lower fee as you won't have had any other marketing at that point. If they then have subsequent people viewing then the fee would be higher as they will have started marketing the property. We did that now and again in my previous life as an estate agent.

Afternoon all,
Sorry I missed seafarer's wedding - hope you had/are having (not sure when it is or was) a wonderful time, and it was as good as you hoped for. You can breathe now, and not worry about any more planning.
Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better tootles - make sure you don't try and do too much today, as I expect your energy levels won't be back to normal for a couple of days yet. Sending recover soon vibes to you. Also sorry to hear your news about NOF. Have they said whether it's treatable, or is it early days yet? Sending posi-vibes her way too.
Hugs heading to LadyL - hope you're feeling a little better today than yesterday. I laughed my head off at jinky's bunny!
Hugs and strength also to sunnygirl - so sorry to hear your news - glad your Dad is staying positive though - it should help a bit.
Well done to AnW'sMum, Miss A and Master W for all of your hard work at Miss Tootle's house. I wish I was nearer as I'd be up there too to help.
Forgot to say the other day, well done on the promotion greenbee - your new title sounds very impressive. Hope it doesn't mean too much extra work for you though - you work like a trojan as it is.
Hope you had a fab time at Wicked and at the cinema froddy - I've been wanting to see Wicked since it started (it was on in LA when we were on holiday, but we didn't have time to go then, and Moon isn't really into musicals either). What you been watching at the cinema?
Sending energy to mudbath - hope doctor can get to the bottom of what is making you so tired.
Sorry for anyone I've not mentioned personally - have been doing this from memory.
I went to the gym with my Mum this morning as she had a guest pass and has been asking me to go for weeks, and I've never felt up to it. I went to the fitball class (exercise class with those giant balls that you sit on) and it really exhausted me. The embarassing thing is, that I was probably the youngest member of the class by about 20 years, and they were all making it look easy, even though I was doing the easy options every time. Made me realise that I'm not as fit a I thought (or at least my muscles aren't as strong as they could be). It was nice though, as my Mum came over to our house aftewards and had her lunch here, and I had mine, and we talked about the wedding and all sorts. It thought I'd told her before, but mentioned how much my dress had cost, and she gasped (she said that's why she had made her own, to which I replied that I wouldn't have had a dress if I'd tried as I can't sew lol). Hopefully she'll be coming to Zumba with me on Sunday night as I've been trying to get her to try it for weeks too.
Another RSVP arrived today, which I'm pleased about, as it's one of my friends from school. However, I ran into the Mum of one of my friends who I've not heard back from, and she said that my friend is in the middle of the mountains in Singapore or something (she's in the ghurkas) so she probably hasn't received it. She also thinks that she's booked a holiday to Morocco in the Easter holidays, so she may not be able to come either. I'll have to send her an email, as she said it'll get to her quicker then.
Saw ex-bridesmaid last night, and asked her if she'd got my invite (I've invited her out of politeness), to which she said yes. I reminded her the RSVP is due by Monday, and she didn't tell me either way whether she was coming then or not. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though going by her track record.
Well flying wise, Moon has mopped the bathroom and kitchen floor for me, which is great, as I hate those jobs, and he's washed the towels and mop head - I've got to put them all away in a minute as he is outside chopping up wood for the woodburner. Will also run around with the hoover in the bedroom, as Ebony seems to have gone out somewhere as it's not raining at the moment, so I'm taking advantage of the empty room.
Hugs to anyone going through it at the moment.

If the caller has genuine reason, they will call back.
Honey, you know, though, that this is not a measured response, don't you? Can you do some of the things that make you feel good, or can you get a meds review?

DEcluttered ante natal scan appointment, hosp is in chaos and they wonder why I don't want to give birth there!!!
Maxonian thanks, yes we are registered with tps. Doesn't stop all nuisance calls, though. We don't have caller display, our phone doesn't have the facility. Mr LW doesn't want to replace it though, as it has a fax incorporated, which we still have occasion to use sometimes.
I've never liked phones, but it's getting worse – I'm now to a stage where if Mr LW is on the phone, I leave the room. With my own mobile, Mr LW has his own ringtone, as does the lady who has the dog-sitting franchise for this area (though she usually emails me anyway with bookings – the phone is just if she's going to be late picking up a guest, style of thing) – anyone else gets red-buttoned; they can talk to the voice mail, and I get Mr LW to call them back later.
Helen I'm glad you got to the bottom of why DD was being so awful. I know nowt about littl'uns, so may be talking out of my posterior, but could it be that at 10, she's not quite emotionally grown-up enough to cope with expressing her grief? Just trying to think back to when my Grandad passed away; I was 9, and as I recall, I just retreated into myself and barely left my room for days and days. Thinking of you all. (((HUGS)))

You can piggy bank with things like cheques and direct debits. Set up an extra account which has cheque book, transfer the money for any cheques you need to write and any direct debits. Stops it clogging up an active account. Personally I find money burns a hole in my pocket so I have an extra account which I stash money in. Never gets to a big amount by most peoples standards but to me :j its a hoard. It gets wiped out regularly by children's shoes but hey its not on a credit card.

re NOF it is early days but I am fairly sure its not treatable - givem that she was too frail to have her hip sorted I think its unlikely she will stand any treatment - she hasnt been out of bed for about 4 weeks and is barely eating - her legs wont hold her:( thanks for your posi-vibes for her xx
