Sounds just like my day too - so far I've done the coffee and thread catcheruping. Need to add to the list copious amounts of ironing and DD1's homework!

Textiles, languages, travel and a lovely home are not stupid things to want. You have immediate family's support.Appreciate what I've achieved so far. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business.0 -
Have asked my eldest if she'd like to earn some cash and help me clean, she's up for it.
I am considering doing the same (even though I feel DS1 should help anyway), but have no idea how much to offer as an incentive. Any ideas?

We're back to grey sky, after a short interlude. I don't think I'm going to get the cat to the vet's this week, so I'll try to let her get used to us for a bit. Only downside is that I don't want to end up with kittens and I'd like her to be checked over/de-flead etc.
OK, my break with coffee and toast is over and I'll see whether DS1 is surfacing. Need to get to school and also get some bread.

You can piggy bank with things like cheques and direct debits. Set up an extra account which has cheque book, transfer the money for any cheques you need to write and any direct debits. Stops it clogging up an active account. Personally I find money burns a hole in my pocket so I have an extra account which I stash money in. Never gets to a big amount by most peoples standards but to me :j its a hoard. It gets wiped out regularly by children's shoes but hey its not on a credit card.

I suppose it depends on their ages. Mine are 18, 14 and 13 and they all have 5 jobs to do each
Ds1(18) - clean the downstairs loo, wipe and clear kitchen table, keep his bedroom tidy and clean, put out the bins and sweep and mop the hall.
DD (14) - clean the bathroom, sweep and mop landing, hoover stairs, keep bedroom tidy and clean, hoover out the car
Ds (13) - walk the dog, feed the dog, wipe down kitchen sides, unload the dishwasher, keep bedroom tidy and clean
They all get £10 a week but if they miss 1 of their jobs then they dont get anything. We had a family meeting about this and the kids decided on what jobs they wanted to do. Its only been in place a week (since DD shoplifting antics) but so far so good but lets see how long it lasts hey lolSealed Pot Challenge member #982

I do have different account but at the moment I seem to have cocked things up. I used to be paid weekly but my new job is paid monthly on the 1st of every month. My direct debits come out at different times so i just dont know where im up to. Think I need to change my direct debits so they all come out on the 3rd of every month.Sealed Pot Challenge member #982
